The Devocean yacht is a 121.00 ft long motor yacht monohull and spends the summer in W. Med -Riviera/Cors/Sard. and winter season in W. Med -Riviera/Cors/Sard.. It was built by Sunseeker in 2008. A refit was done in 2012. The yacht layout features 5 cabins and accommodates 11 guests. The cabin arrangement is following: 1 king cabin, 3 queen cabins, 1 twin cabin, 1 pullman cabin.

Prior to that M/Y GIORGIA where he spent 5 extremely successful years, building up an excellent charter reputation with both clients and brokers. Previous yachts have included M/Y Sealyon, where he added to his already excellent charter reputation, he then worked for the same owner for 4 years on M/Y Serendipity of Cayman and M/Y Serendipity II, then moving to M/Y Tsalta for the same owner for 4 years. Ben is a very hands-on captain with extensive knowledge of all areas of yacht management and organization. His personal interests include kite surfing, windsurfing, water-skiing, wake-boarding and sailing, as well as being an advanced open water scuba diver. Ben is a 5* Captain – one of the best! Hailed for his professionalism and welcoming nature, recently described as calm, fantastic with his crew and so hands on. An absolute pro, friendly, communicative and a great asset to any charter. The Sunseeker yacht THE DEVOCEAN is bursting with an interior design that creates a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, achieving a sense of sophistication and relaxation.

Yacht THE DEVOCEAN boasts a contemporarily decorated saloon, with a rich wooden interior complimented by black granite surfaces and soft brown furnishings and cream carpeted areas that complement the stunning wooden flooring. The salon features a gorgeous stand-alone bar area, spacious seating area with a large flat screen TV and entertainment area which separates the area from the dining space.

Further forward on the main deck, past the day head is the full beam Master suite complete with a King-size bed, vanity area, and seating area. The cabin also has a walk-in dressing room with full-length wardrobe. Descending down a few steps is the spacious full beam Master bathroom there is a large jet shower starboard, his and hers sinks and a large Spa Pool bath port side. Black granite is the dominant feature.

A stairwell located midship takes you down to the lower deck and the remaining guest accommodation. There are two aft cabins which are mirror images of each other that feature a double bed set at an angle, both with ensuite with large showers and double basins. There is a double cabin located forward and a twin convertible cabin with an extra Pullman berth. The twin beds in this cabin can also convert into a double bed making it very versatile. The ensuite bathrooms have a single basin and large shower.

On the upper bridge deck level of yacht THE DEVOCEAN there is another day head and small pantry with a fridge, icemaker and dumbwaiter. The bridge is located forward and the aft sky lounge has a light and airy feel as the beautiful wood décor that is a feature throughout the yacht is complimented here with cream sofas and rattan games table, and bar with stools.

On the bridge deck aft, through sliding glass doors is a large dining table perfect for al fresco dining. From here, there are stairs that lead up to the spacious top deck with a bar and BBQ area and a relaxing Spa Pool, surrounded by sun pads and four loungers.

In 2012, she has received a remodelled topdeck with new Spa Pool, BBQ and bar area. She also features Zero Speed stabilizers and a fantastic AV system.

Devocean sails away to victory

Devocean, a Swan 45 yacht owned by Stephen DeVoe, came in first place in the IRC 3 class at the New York Yacht Club’s 157th Annual Regatta. Devocean finished first in four of the five races that it competed in. It finished third in the remaining race.

Devocean, a Swan 45 yacht owned by Jamestown’s Stephen DeVoe, cruised to four first-place finishes in five races to take the IRC 3 class at the New York Yacht Club’s 157th Annual Regatta held June 10 to June 12.

A total of 135 boats competed in the regatta and the event broke all of its past attendance records. “It was bloody hard work,” said Ken Read of Newport, skipper of PUMA Ocean Racing’s Volvo Open 70 mar mostro, which won the IRC 1 class. “But anytime you have good breeze and gnarly condition, you feel like you actually accomplished something.”

With eight boats competing in the IRC 3 class, Devocean began the regatta by finishing third in its opening race. It followed up its third-place finish with four straight wins in the remaining four races (3-1-1-1-1=7), easily finishing ahead of Snow Lion, a Ker 50 owned by Lawrence Huntington of New York City (1-3-2- 5-3=14), and Interlodge, a Swan 42 owned by Arthur Santry and John Jacquemin of Arlington, Va. (2-4-3-2-5=16). The remaining boats in the IRC 3 class were Cannonball (21 total points), Seawolf (27), After Midnight (30), The Cat Came Back (38) and White Rhino (38).

DeVoe and Read’s boats weren’t the only Rhode Island vessels that stood out at the regatta. Michael McCaffrey’s (Newport) Osprey and Angus Davis’ (Bristol) Aquila came in first and second place, respectively, in the Herreshoff S Class class; Joseph Dockery’s (Newport) Sonny won the Classics/Spinnaker class; John Taft’s (Newport) Fortune came in second in the Classics/Non-Spinnaker class; Jonathan Loughborough’s (Newport) Belle and Jed Pearsall’s (Newport) Clarity came in first and third, respectively, in the Metre class.

Also, Bill Berges and Ben Hall’s (Tiverton) Bluto won the PHRF 2 class, while John Lavin’s (West Greenwich) Dirty Harry and Mike Ryan and Richard Barker’s (Newport) NightHawk finished second and third, respectively, in the class; Jim Lengel’s (Portsmouth) Top Cat and Gordon McNabb’s (Middletown) Flying Cloud 11 finished first and second, respectively, in the PHRF/ Non-Spinnaker class; and Charles Milligan’s (Newport) Act One finished second in the IRC 5.

She was painted in 2013 and a new Northern light generator went in at the same time. In 2019 the interior received a complete overhaul. As you step aboard REEL DEVOCEAN, you'll immediately be struck by the spacious, open layout of the salon, offering generous headroom throughout. Beginning at the forward end, you'll find the guest stateroom, featuring oversized cross berths, cedar-lined hanging locker, ample drawer storage, and a deck access hatch allowing natural light to flood in. The teak cabinetry and carpet flooring add a touch of elegance, while providing access to the guest head.

Moving towards the port side, there's a dedicated laundry room equipped with custom rod and tackle storage, catering to the needs of avid anglers. Adjacent to it, another guest stateroom awaits, complete with upper and lower bunks, a hanging locker, and additional under-berth drawer storage.

Directly across to starboard lies the luxurious master stateroom, offering a spacious walk-around queen-size berth, complemented by teak cabinetry and ample drawer space, as well as a cedar-lined hanging locker. The master suite also boasts a private head, featuring a stall shower, granite countertops, and a large vanity with plenty of storage.

Ascending three steps towards the aft end of the vessel, you'll find yourself in the salon, where the galley sits to starboard and the dinette to port, both positioned towards the forward section. An expansive L-shaped sofa occupies the starboard side, providing comfortable seating arrangements, while custom cabinetry to port houses a flat-screen TV on a hi-lo electric actuator. Access to the cockpit is facilitated by a convenient sliding door.

The interior décor underwent a comprehensive makeover in 2019, ensuring a refreshed and modern ambiance throughout the vessel's living spaces.

A sumptuous interior in black American walnut accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins consisting of a full-beam master suite on the main deck, three doubles and a twin with a Pullman berth.

MASTER SUITE, BATHROOM (Main deck) Owner cabin with king sized bed, bedside tables, vanity unit with comfortable armchair, seating area with coffee table and 2 armchairs. A walk-in closet with full length hanging, shelves and drawers and a safe. Ensuite with two hand basins, mirror, shower, bathtub and WC.

4 GUEST STATEROOMS & BATHROOMS (Lower deck) • 1 x VIP cabins with double bed, bedside tables, desk/vanity area with comfortable chair, wardrobe. • 2 x guest cabins, with double bed, desk/vanity area with comfortable chair, wardrobe, bedside tables. • 1 x twin cabin with 2 single beds that can be converted into a double bed, plus 1 Pullman berth with stair access, wardrobe, bedside table. All cabins have mini bars, LCD television screens and en-suite bathroom facilities equipped with a hand basin, mirror, shower, WC.

MAIN SALON & DINING AREA (Main deck) The entrance from the aft deck is equipped with a central bar with 2 fridges and an ice container. Main saloon is equipped with two sofas for 4 persons and 4 armchairs, coffee table. Dining area is fitted large dining table suitable for up to 12 guests.

UPPER DECK AFT Aft upper deck is equipped with large table which seats up to 12 guests (only 10 chairs).

Before that, Oliver was chief officer and security officer on 180’ Feadship M/Y KALINGA and 164’ Proteksan M/Y MOSAIQUE. Oliver is gifted with languages and speaks English, French and German. In his spare time, he enjoys squash, trials biking, diving and golf. In he also a CSIA qualified ski instructor and skis as often as possible. Languages: English, French, German

CHIEF OFFICER: Lynton Dedekind – South African – Returning February 2020 Joined Winter 2019 Lynton was deckhand then moved up to Bosun on Entourage completing 2 seasons aboard (2017/18). He returned to SA to complete is IYT 200ton Captains license before joining The Devocean as 1st Mate to continue to work with Captain Ben. Prior to joining the yachting industry Lynton worked in the family business a Bed and Breakfast in South Africa so he has many years of hospitality under his belt and experience of dealing with clients of various nationalities. With ambitions to be “a top-level stewardess” and her 2 years’ experience so far, Jessica is showing vital signs of achieving that potential. When timings and schedules permit, Jessica loves hiking, surfing, reading and animals and she is equally passionate about travel, adventure activities, international cuisine and experiencing different cultures. Jessica was 3rd Stew on Entourage working with Captain Ben and moves up to 2nd Stew on M/Y The Devocean. Languages: English

ENGINEER: Brian Smith – Australian Joined Winter 2019 Brian has 30 years of sea experience including 20 years professional experience as a Captain and Engineer. Prior to this he has 10 years Mechanical Engineer experience in the building industry (Hotels) as a design and project manager engineer. Having worked on large yachts for the past 10 years Brian brings a wealth of experience to M/Y The Devocean and with his calm and relaxed nature he is popular both with guests and crew alike. Alice Guo confirms leaving PH by boats, one of which was a yacht

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo on Monday said that they left the Philippines via boats, one of which was a yacht.

"Umalis po kami, Madam Chair, by boat po," Guo told a Senate panel.

(We left, Mada'm Chair, by boat.)

"Meron po kaming sinakyang yate po," she added, confirming the information asked by Senator Risa Hontiveros who is the chairperson of the panel.

(There was a yacht we boarded.)

After being pressed by the senators to tell more details about their escape, Guo said they climbed aboard the yacht in a port in Metro Manila.

However, Guo refused to divulge to the public the name of the person who facilitated their yacht ride and the owner of the same.

What she only recalled was that the yacht has "wings" stickers and numbers on it.

The senators tried to get the names of the facilitator and the owner by asking Guo to write it on a piece of paper, but she requested them not to divulge it in public.

Guo wrote the name of the facilitator of the trip on a paper, but she noted that she is not sure if he is the owner of the yacht.

Guo has repeatedly told the senators that she is afraid for her safety due to threats which she refused to divulge to the Senate panel.

After riding the yacht for a "few hours", they transferred to a bigger boat. She said she doesn't know the exact location where they made the transfer.

"Madilim pa rin po...Basta dagat po," she said.

(It was still dark. It was in the sea.)

After transferring to a bigger boat, Guo said they stayed in one room for days. She added that she was not aware of the time because they were told not to use their cellphones.

"Siguro mga four or three or five [days]. Basta matagal po...Four days po siguro... Hindi po kami pinapalabas," she said.

(Maybe four or three or five [days]. It was long... Four days maybe... We were not allowed to go out.)

She admitted that she felt afraid in the middle of the second boat ride.

"Kung puwede lang umatras, aatras na po ako...Nakakatakot po talaga," she said.

(If it were just possible to back out, I would have backed out... It was really scary.)

"Gusto ko na po umuwi. Gusto ko na po bumalik," she added.

(I wanted to go home. I wanted to go back.)

Asked why she did not return, Guo said, "Nagkamali po talaga ako (I really made a mistake)."

After riding the second "big" boat, Guo said they transferred to another small boat then proceeded to Malaysia.

"Paglabas po namin, may sinakyan pa kami isang maliit na bangka... 'Yung bangka po bumiyahe pa po kami tapos Malaysia na po," she said.

(When we got out, we boarded a small boat... That boat traveled to Malaysia.)

Asked about the location where they arrived in Malaysia, Guo said she doesn't know because they were instructed not to look around the places they have been.

In a separate Senate investigation last August 27, Guo's supposed sister, Shiela Guo, told the senators that they left the Philippines by riding several boats .

According to Shiela, the three of them were fetched by a van from their farm in Tarlac and they traveled southbound from dinner time to midnight.

However, she said she does not know the location where they rode a small white boat. According to Shiela, the small boat can only cater to around 10 people.

They then transferred to a bigger boat which Shiela said can accommodate many people. The second ship appears to be a fishing ship because there were nets on it, according to Shiela.

After riding what seemed to be a fishing ship, Shiela said they transferred again to a smaller boat.

Asked if the last boat transferred them to Malaysia, Shiela answered in the affirmative.

It took a month before the Philippine government became aware that Guo and her siblings had left the country in July.

Alice Guo is the subject of multiple complaints, one of which was filed with a Tarlac court, which ordered her arrest for her alleged connections to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban that was raided for illegal activities.

Among the complaints she is facing are graft, money laundering, and human trafficking.
