ACE Yacht – Splendid $160 M Superyacht

The ACE yacht was launched by Lürssen in 2012.

The 87m(285.4ft) superyacht is currently for sale at $160,000,000 after being used exclusively by the owner.

The unconventional design of the boat has brought great pleasure to guests and crew alike and features many toys and tenders to make the yachting experience memorable.

The boat has a running cost of $10-$15 million per year and is the 32nd largest boat built by Lürssen.

The ACE yacht was closely influenced by the requirements of Yuriy Kosiuk to be a family-orientated yacht.

With his guidance, Winch Design took the unconventional designs of the owner to create an interior that aimed at having a good time with family and making life onboard work better.

To achieve this, the traditional layout of a superyacht was reorganized.

Several changes were made, including placing the owner’s suite facing aft and not upfront, allowing the owner privacy and panoramic views of the ocean.

The crew deck was built on the main deck, with sliding doors on the side deck to give them air, create happy working conditions, and attract the best crew.

The interior includes ten guests in 5 rooms and accommodation for 30 crew. The interior reflects a contemporary grand hotel with a light and fresh feel.

There is a Roman villa-inspired spa on the lower deck, a Russian tearoom, and a nightclub on the upper deck.

The main deck has a gym, and cinema and is large compared to the owner’s deck to allow more space for family fun.

The exterior features unique sweeping arches that appear wave-like on the haunches of the superstructure.

The superstructure is aluminum, and the hull is steel. ACE is a Lürssen construction designed by Winch Design.

The exterior reflects a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. The arches on the ACE yacht are meant to show the “fantastic power of a wave,” reflecting the passion and enthusiasm of the owner. ACE has several toys to aid in the fun of the family and the guests.

Specifications

With a length of 87m(285.4ft), the ACE yacht displaces 2732GT. The boat has a beam of 4.5m(47.6ft) and a draft of 3.75m(12.3ft).

Her 2 MTU engines give her a top speed of 16.5kn and a cruising speed of 14kn. The yacht has a range of 6500nm.

The boat features Quantum XT Zero stabilizers that afford a comfortable experience aboard ACE. She was built to Lloyd’s 100A1 specifications. The boat was built in 2012 and refitted in 2018.

A STUNNING £150m superyacht arrived in Devon today along with a helper boat that boasts speedboats and a helicopter.

The 285-ft cruiser - known as ACE - can accommodate 12 guests in six cabins, and has a sauna, spa and a lavish swimming pool.

The incredible superyacht sailed into Dartmouth today and comes with a dedicated support vessel called Garçon.

It is thought to be owned by Ukrainian bread magnate Yuriy Kosiuk.

Billionaire Kosiuk is thought to have a net worth in excess of £1bn.

Ukrainian billionaire’s £150m luxury superyacht was spotted off the Devon coast as it is joined by its own helper boat called 'Garçon' and a helicopter.

Yuriy Kosiuk, who owns the ship, is said to have a net worth of over £1billion, according to an estimate by Forbes in March 2016.

He is CEO of the Ukraine's largest agricultural company MHP which he founded in 1998 and  is married to Olena Kosyuk who works within his company as Head of Technology, Product Quality and Food Safety. 

The couple live in Kiev, Ukraine, with their  18-year-old son called Ivan.

Dartmouth in South Devon is a vibrant harbour town on the River Dart.

The port itself is one of Britain's busiest and flows out into the English Channel. 

The harbour is open 24 hours a day and hosts around 1,600 permanent moorings which are usually rented annually.

The Antiguan government is investigating a yacht with apparent links to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

The 67-metre explorer vessel, named Garçon, is moored in Falmouth Harbour marina in the southern tip of the Caribbean island, according to database MarineTraffic . This month Antigua said it would enforce all US, EU and UK sanctions on Russian entities and individuals.

The yacht, which is built to carry helicopters and an “armada of water toys”, including a submarine and jet-skis, operates as a support vessel for megayachts.

Ownership of the vessel transferred to a British Virgin Islands-domiciled company called Wenham Overseas Limited in January 2021, according to maritime database Equasis. Reports at the time said the last-known asking price before the sale was €24mn. 

According to aircraft registration documents, Wenham is the owner of a Boeing 787 private jet that previous press reports have identified as being linked to Abramovich.

Abramovich is also named as the owner of Wenham in a private plane ownership database seen by the FT.

Abramovich, the billionaire owner of at least two megayachts, has been placed under sanctions by the UK and EU but has not had any imposed by the US. 

Ronald Sanders, Antiguan Barbudan ambassador to the US, said his government was investigating the yacht’s ownership and had sought help from the US and UK government.

“We have sought assistance from other jurisdictions to determine the ownership of the boat. We have tried our best to see whether this thing is indeed owned by Abramovich,” he said, after being approached by the Financial Times with questions about the Garçon’s ownership. “We have consulted widely and we haven’t come up with the answers. We can’t find a link and no one can tell us if there is a link to Abramovich.”

The Garçon was under management by Isle of Man-based Döhle Yachts as of August 2021, according to Equasis records. One person with knowledge of the matter told the FT that Döhle recently resigned from the contract. Döhle did not respond to requests for comment.

This person said that the Garçon owner was Abramovich and added that Abramovich may be seeking to transfer beneficial ownership of the ship. Abramovich did not respond to a request for comment.

The Garçon was previously owned by Ukrainian billionaire Yuriy Kosiuk, the founder and chief executive of MHP, Ukraine’s leading food supplier. Kosiuk also sold his other yacht, an 87-metre vessel called ACE, which the Garçon was built to support, last year. MHP declined to comment. 

The Garçon is “capable of accommodating various helicopter models including a Bell 365 and an armada of water toys including a 4-person submarine, jet ski and tenders . . . She can accommodate extra crew and has vast amounts of toys and storage space for extra provisioning,” according to marketing material from yacht brokerage Fraser.

One expert in superyachts described the boat as a “very hardcore explorer yacht”.

“It can have its own stand-alone uses,” he told the FT. “But what you see a lot more of these days is this kind of support yacht that basically follows the big yacht and carries toys, crew and other things.”

The whereabouts of Abramovich’s superyachts have come under scrutiny after two of his vessels -the 163-metre hull Eclipse and the 140-metre Solaris — sailed to Turkish ports last week.

The arrival of the vessels in Turkey has sparked concerns that the country is becoming a haven for oligarchs that have had sanctions imposed on them, given the country’s reluctance to sign up to sweeping sanctions against Russia.
