I find this Yacht Club to me so incredibly "meh". The view is beautiful, but the atmosphere inside is stuffy and dated. The service is horrible, I've probably been a dozen times and have never had the service you'd expect in a membership community. Every time we asked (because we had to ask) our server for drinks she seemed disturbed, like we were taking time away from whatever else she'd rather be doing. The food is whatever, a simple menu you can find done better at many other restaurants on the Cape. It's great if you're looking for a beautiful view and that's about all!
Sadly, the view is the best thing about this club . Food is mediocre, service doesn't exist and tonight I had the worst Manhattan in my life. Really! I never have seen a manager walking around and checking on customers so I don't know who to complain to; the bartender who makes bad drinks or the waitress who gives bad service. As a member, I'll probably vote with my feet.
I would like to comment on the two recent dining experiences at The Captain's Table 5/12 Mothers Day: Harlie, our waitress, was A+. Food : Agnolotti overly spicy; Mussels were very good;sirloin steak was cooked as requested, but I felt the quality was below par; I had a similar cut, which was hormone free, for the same price at the Red Pheasant three weeks before and that was outstanding. Drinks were very good, especially the Bloody Mary. 5/19 Host or hostess was no where in sight for over 5 minutes; at least 4 waiters past or saw us and we were not acknowledged! Looked in bar; no help. Waited. Went back to the bar and was able to get help from a very pleasant waitress who seated us. Anthony, rated C-, waited on us who bump our daughter's chair about 4 times and he became defensive saying "it was sticking out" and added "I have been working here since 1986." Agnolotti was spiced just right this time. My wedge salad was to include "grilled " red onion and it was served raw, which I cannot eat, but grilled is OK. All other food and drinks were very good, especially a garden salad appetizer. Requires membership. Lovely water view
