A Fiat 500 inspired boat has been launched called the ‘Car 500 Off-Shore’.

The one-of-a-kind limited edition has all the standout features of the iconic Fiat 500, yet they are replicated with marine-grade materials and adapted to the new functionality. 

Dreamt up by Italian entrepreneur Antonio Pietro Maria Galasso, 24, in partnership with Fiat, the 4.7 metres long boat combines the car’s design, advanced technology and functionality to create a unique and safe sailing experience in a form that perfectly epitomises the spirit of La Dolce Vita. 

From real leather seating to stainless steel accents, the interior showcases the iconic FIAT 500 automotive design, while marine-grade components and materials on the exterior ensure durability and resilience against the elements.

The roof has been removed, and the rear bench has been substituted with two reclining lounges, ideal for sunbathing. The ‘500 of the seas’ also features rounded headlights, rear-view mirrors, and half-wheel arches, maintaining the iconic FIAT 500 silhouette. Optionally, the boat can be equipped with marine speakers and a multimedia player, a hand shower, or an upgraded dashboard.

With the option of up to 115 horsepower, the vessel offers impressive performance, reaching top speeds of 24 mph (39 km/h).

The 500 boat can transport up to five passengers and comes with a small swimming platform and ladder that makes it ideal for day outings.

‘Car 500 Off-Shore’ is available in two variations – the Puglia Edition, in a turquoise outer paint, and the Miami Edition, in a peach orange outer paint.

Only 500 units have been built with a limited number of those available to purchase.  Prices start from £96,780.

For those unable to afford the near six-figure outlay, ‘Car 500 Off-Shore’ is also available to rent on the shores of the Amalfi Coast and Miami.  

“At first, they thought I was crazy. But now, with 60 units sold and 50 families employed, our FIAT 500 Car Off-Shore Dayboat speaks for itself,” says CEO of Car Off-Shore, Dott Antonio Galasso.

“I used to own a FIAT 500 cabrio, constantly drawing inspiration from it. Now, as I consider buying a new one, the iconic 500 is always with me, an integral part of my daily life that I can't live without. FIAT isn't just a brand; it's a legacy, inspiring innovation every step of the way."

There are a variety of tour packages available in Positano, Italy including a one hour 30-minute Dolce Vita Sunset Tour costing 400€ and, for those seeking an unforgettable moment, the Vintage Wedding Proposal package at 1200€.

“There truly is nothing more La Dolce Vita in life than this. The Fiat 500 is a design recognised the world over, but I must admit I never thought I’d see that iconic silhouette floating on the Amalfi Coast. It’s official, it looks as stunning on land as it does in the sea,” says Damien Dally, Managing Director FIAT UK.

As part of FIAT’s licensing program developed in collaboration with IMG, the FIAT Car 500 Off-Shore joins a diverse range of consumer products inspired by the FIAT brand, including apparel, swimwear, toys, and kitchen appliances.

Fiat 500 Riva, the world's smallest yacht

At the beginning of June 2016, we told you about the first Fiat 500 created in partnership with the luxury yacht brand Riva. The car presented by the brand as "the smallest yacht in the world" is now available for sale at all Fiat dealerships. The Riva can be purchased for less than 20,000 .

You can now treat yourself to the Fiat 500 Riva, available at all Fiat dealerships. The car is inspired by the Aquarama, the famous motorboat from Riva Yacht , and has been built with some of the materials used in the boat . For example, there is a mahogany dashboard with maple wood inlays, the same wood species used for Riva yachts . The door sills and gear knob are also made of solid mahogany.

"The new 500 Riva is aimed at motorists looking for the same exclusivity on land that the Aquariva Super yacht - Riva's current icon - offers, as well as the accessibility that has made the 500 a legend: quality materials and a unique style to feel the emotions of a cruise during every daily trip to the city" we read on the Fiat website.

This limited series goes up in range thanks to these noble woods, used for the manufacture of Riva yachts . However, the resemblance with the famous Riva shipyard canoe stops there, even if both brands have tried to push the resemblance further.

The bodywork of the Fiat 500 Riva will be covered in the colour "Sera Blue" (night blue). "It's one of the most popular colors in the Aquariva Super palette." explains Fiat. The cabriolet version has a new blue soft top created exclusively for this version, while the saloon version has a panoramic black roof.

To remind you of the boat , the mirror housings are chromed, as are the handles and the hood finish. The aquamarine line running along the beltline seeks to recall the silhouette of a yacht. Finally, the car is equipped with new 20-spoke 16-inch light alloy wheels with a specific blue finish, created exclusively for this model.

This special series signed Riva and Fiat will also have the logo of the nautical legend and the trade name "Riva" will also appear on the front fenders, on the wooden inserts of the side panels and on the dashboard.

Available in sedan or convertible versions and with all the engines in the range, prices start from 17,990 euros for the 69 bhp 1.2 petrol version.

New Fiat 500 Offshore: Big Hit in Miami

The real hit of the Miami show last week wasn’t the 278-foot, $129 million superyacht Victorious . It was the 15-foot, $122,000 Fiat 500 Offshore, making its U.S. debut.

Made in Italy by Car Off-Shore and Fiat, the new car-like tender was launched there last summer (pictured above). The idea was to replicate the look and lines of the iconic Fiat 500, one of the most-recognized European vehicles ever. Fiat described the boat as the “500 of the seas.” The boats were shown in Miami by 1 Ocean Yachts Group.

The Fiat 500 Offshore is not mass produced like its land-based namesake. Only 500 will be made. The 100-hp Mercury outboard can be painted to match the color of the boat, so can the fender covers. The 500 comes with a bilge pump, front and rear LED lights, fog lights, a Sky leather throttle, four seats, a digital dash, audio system, and optional Sunshade canopy.

The car-boat weighs 1,212 pounds and carries just 18 gallons of fuel and 11 gallons of fresh water, so you don’t wander too far offshore. But it certainly looks like you’ll have a lot of fun, even close to shore.
