View luxury charter yachts in St Kitts here
St Kitts is near Nevis in the Caribbean is a wonderful yacht charter destination and can be easily reached by luxury yachts from its neighbouring islands of Antigua , Barbuda , Anguilla , St Barts , St Martin or St Maarten and Guadeloupe which together form the Leeward Islands .
St Kitts is famous for its historical, cultural and architectural significance and along with Nevis it is called the 'Secret Caribbean'. These unspoilt, tropical islands are among the most captivating and picturesque in all the Caribbean and a paradise for nature lovers because the preservation of the natural ecosystems has been a priority.
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, (also known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis), is located in the Leeward Islands of the Eastern Caribbean. The federal two-island nation of St Kitts and Nevis in the West Indies is the smallest sovereign state in the Americas, in both area and population. The two islands of St Kitts and Nevis are separated by a shallow two-mile (3.22 km) channel, known as "The Narrows".
St Kitts Island has set aside more than a quarter of its land as a National Park, with a rainforest that is actually expanding in size. The beautiful yacht charter destination of St Kitts Island is surrounded by new and untouched dive sites with massive beds of coral, teeming with colourful tropical fish. St Kitts also boasts the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is an impregnable fortress which stood as the 'Gibraltar of the West Indies' in days gone by.
Great excursions of the island of St Kitts while enjoying your luxury yacht charter include a drive or hike through the Valley of Giants, take a zip line over the rainforest or enjoy a guided tour of the cradle of Sofa Rock, once the very cap of a still smouldering volcano that you can climb to the very edge of, then descend 1000 feet to its steaming crater floor.
Basseterre is the capital of St. Kitts and Nevis Island in the Caribbean, located off the 2 mile bay on the southwest side of St. Kitts. The beautiful city lies within the large Basseterre Valley and this region is completely surrounded by mountains and lush green forests with the mystical Olivees Mountains in the north and Conaree Morne peaks to the east. Since the area is low lying, the French have named the city as Basseterre. A Basseterre yacht charter vacation in the Caribbean is the perfect holiday for honeymooners. Sightseeing centres worth a visit in the city include Independence Square and The Circus. You can also visit the Clay Villa Plantation House and Gardens- peaceful surroundings which have an array of trees and shrubs as well as a small sanctuary for animals. If you are looking for a good beach to relax then look no further than Cockleshell Beach, which offers a beautiful setting with fine sand that contrasts with the azure blue-green Caribbean Sea.
Nevis Island is conical in shape, with a volcanic peak called Nevis Peak, at its centre and is fringed on its western and northern quadrants by sandy beaches made of a mixture of white coral sand with brown and black sand, eroded and washed down from the volcanic rocks that make up the island.
St Kitts and Nevis is a wonderful location in the Caribbean to have a yacht charter holiday. The pristine beaches with warm clear blue waters to swim, snorkel or dive in, the hospitable locals, the historic sights, the local cuisine, together with perfect climatic conditions make your yacht charter vacation something that you will remember for life. St Kitts and Nevis are also in close proximity to a number of exciting sailing destinations nearby.

Reia - Our experience was outstanding! Jean Marc and Danny were very gracious and always went the extra mile. We sailed to Nevis and St. Kitts, St. Barts, Anguilla... and we loved the boat. We can't wait for our next trip and we are thinking about the Greek Islands or the Seychelles for next year. My sincere thanks to you and Clare for all your efforts on our behalf. Why you should set sail for Saint Kitts and Nevis
With Saint Kitts announced as the filming location of Below Deck season nine, Sophia Wilson steps ashore to discover what the islands have to offer as a superyacht cruise and charter destination...
Anchored off in a Caribbean bay, with cobalt blue waters lapping against the curving sand, 88-metre Maltese Falcon and 86-metre Aquijo sit side-by-side. Around the headland are equally notable yachts including 74-metre Plvs Vltra and 62.5-metre Party Girl . In peak season and it would be no surprise to find this calibre of yacht fighting for slots in St Barths’ Port de Gustavia or lined up at English Harbour in Antigua – but not anchored off the dual-island nation of St Kitts and Nevis. Yet in recent winter seasons, the larger island of St Kitts has rivalled the more traditional Caribbean hotspots for popularity.
The island is within striking distance of some of the region’s most beloved cruising grounds, but its lack of marina infrastructure and luxury tourism offerings has previously held it back. But this is changing fast. Superyacht owner and property developer Charles “Buddy” Darby III has spent the past decade transforming 1,000 hectares in the south of the island into Christophe Harbour.
One of the largest marina developments ever attempted in the Caribbean, the project encircles a former salt pond that has now been opened to sea water. It will include a Tom Fazio- designed golf course, but at its heart sits a superyacht marina, which opened in 2014 and can accommodate yachts of up to 76 metres.
Darby’s former superyacht captain Aeneas Hollins is now at the helm of the marina and has been a fan of St Kitts’ charms long before Christophe Harbour started to become a reality. “I spent more than 25 years at sea and this is the only place that made me want to swallow the anchor and come on shore,” he explains. “It’s a combination of the nature, the people and its connection to the past.”
The island is no stranger to foreign investment – in the 17th and 18th centuries it was one of the Caribbean’s leading sugar producers. Home to 68 plantations during a time when sugar was known as white gold, it was one of the richest colonies in the Caribbean and as a result was fiercely defended by the British.
A bold reminder of its past still sits on the north- west coastline – the massive Brimstone Hill Fortress. Nicknamed the Gibraltar of the West Indies as it looks similar to the fortifications on the famous Rock, the UNESCO World Heritage Site was built by African slave labour to British military standards. Sitting 230 metres above sea level, it took more than a century to create and is made of limestone quarried from the hill beneath it. The fortress is enough to keep history buffs entertained for hours but even philistines can’t help but be enthralled by the views across the Caribbean Sea (from where pirates and other nations would have attacked).
The island’s plantation history is also apparent elsewhere. Old sugar mill chimneys are dotted along the shoreline and green vervet monkeys, which were initially brought to the island as pets by the French (who shared the island with the British between 1627 and 1713), now outnumber Kittitians.
In the capital city of Basseterre, the British links are even clearer. Independence Square, which was once the site of slave auctions and known as Pall Mall, features paths that were shaped to resemble the Union flag. Nearby sits Piccadilly Circus, a small roundabout modelled after the London landmark and surrounded by Georgian-style buildings.
St Kitts and Nevis achieved full independence as recently as 1983 (the latest Caribbean island to do so) and sugar production wasn’t halted until 2005. This is one of the reasons why the nation’s history is so keenly felt but it also means that, despite its natural beauty, its tourism industry has been slower to develop than that of its neighbours. However, Hollins believes improvements over the past decade mean the islands can now truly cater for superyacht owners and guests. “We’ve come a long way,” he explains. “We now have four key high-end amenities for visiting yachts – us, the Four Seasons, the Park Hyatt and the Kayan Jet lounge.”
With an increasing amount on offer not only are more superyachts visiting but they are also staying for longer. “We have the marina and four or five nice anchorages in all weathers to ensure diversity of experience aboard and people enjoy exploring the island,” he adds.
The Park Hyatt, which opened as part of Christophe Harbour in 2017, is seen as a key milestone in St Kitts’ tourism development. Overlooking Banana Bay at the southern tip of the island, it benefits from easy access to St Kitts’ best beaches and has stunning views over the neighbouring island of Nevis. “The further down the island you get, the more expensive it becomes, so I guess it’s the perfect destination for this hotel,” jokes my driver as he drops me at the entrance – a lantern- lit portico lined with fish-filled pools.
Commanding the highest room rates on the island, it blends modern architecture – its airy rooms are housed within three-storey glass buildings – with plenty of nods to St Kitts’ heritage, including a replica sugar mill used for morning yoga sessions, and plantation-style arches intersecting its adults- only infinity pool.
As well as the ocean-to-table overwater Fisherman’s Village restaurant, and the tasting- menu-based Stone Barn, the added boon for superyachts docking at Christophe Harbour is that the resort is also home to a Miraval Life in Balance Spa. It deliberately shuns a traditional Caribbean aesthetic, with reflecting lily ponds and a minimalist Scandinavian design creating a calming atmosphere. As you would expect, the spa has a vast menu that makes use of local ingredients, and of course sugar, in treatments such as the 50-minute Coconut Sugar Glow scrub.
The golden beaches at the south of the guitar-shaped island may catch the attention of luxury travellers but the north of the island also has plenty to offer, with the Mount Liamuiga stratovolcano creating dramatic vistas and black-sand beaches. A train, which runs along tracks that were previously used to deliver sugar cane, gives a picturesque overview of the changing topography as tropical palms give way to vibrant rainforest. Or if you want to dodge the cruise ship crowds, a drive along the Atlantic coast’s main road gives a similar overview.
At this less explored northern end of the island, Belle Mont Farm is taking luxury in a new direction with its farm-to-table philosophy. Sitting among 160 hectares of organic tropical farmland, the sustainable farm resort sits on the slopes of Mount Liamuiga. For those not staying, Belle Mont hosts a twice-weekly farm-to-table evening. Guests are invited to dine at a long candle-lit table with views of the sun setting over the islands of St Eustatius and Saba. Head chef John serves up homemade focaccia with fish gumbo and fresh salads. The wood-fired brick oven produces platters of grilled chicken, duck and freshly caught fish. The food is delicious and the setting spectacular but what makes the evening special is the way guests chat and share stories throughout the evening. It’s testament to St Kitts’ charm that it can bring 20 people from across the globe together in shared admiration for this special island.
A quick sail along the sheltered Caribbean coast can only enhance the sense of wonder. Jumping into the warm waters in Shitten Bay, less than two nautical miles from the marina at Christophe Harbour, we are the only boat in the bay. As I paddle in the water, with a shallow shipwreck to explore, the only life in sight is the goats that scramble up the surrounding hillside. With secluded anchorages, wild natural beauty, a rich history and now the luxury amenities to support superyachts, St Kitts’ future looks sweet indeed.

Who was on superyacht that sank off Sicily?
Twenty-two people were on board the Bayesian superyacht including British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, his wife and 18-year-old daughter, and Morgan Stanley International boss Jonathan Bloomer.
Friday 23 August 2024 12:34, UK
Details have emerged of the 22 people who were on board the superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily.
The British-flagged vessel named Bayesian was carrying 12 passengers and 10 members of crew when it got into difficulty in the early hours of Monday.
Seven bodies have now been recovered. The other 15 people on board were rescued.
Here's what we know about those who were on the yacht.
Follow latest updates on the superyacht sinking
British technology tycoon Mike Lynch was among the original six people missing. On Thursday, divers confirmed his body had been recovered.
Raised in Ilford, east London by Irish parents, the 59-year-old made millions with the software company Autonomy he set up in 1996.
He had an estimated net worth of £852m, according to the 2023 Sunday Times Rich List, and is believed to have owned the yacht.
Off the back of Automomy's global success, Mr Lynch was given the roles of science adviser to former prime minister David Cameron and non-executive director of the BBC.
The Cambridge maths and sciences graduate sold the firm for £8.64bn to US giant Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2011.
Dubbed the "British Bill Gates", Mr Lynch has been in the headlines in recent months over a high-profile fraud case related to the sale of Autonomy to HP in 2011.
HP accused him of deliberately overstating the value of the company before it was acquired by the American technology firm. Mr Lynch denied any wrongdoing.
In June, a US jury cleared him of all charges .

Hannah Lynch
Mr Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch was also on board. A body believed to be that of the teenager was recovered on Friday from the yacht wreckage.
She had been on holiday with her parents, having secured a place to study English at the University of Oxford, according to reports.
Her former school, Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London, said they were "incredibly shocked by the news that Hannah and her father are among those missing in this tragic accident" when the yacht first sank.
Angela Bacares
Mr Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was on board the yacht and was rescued.
The 57-year-old said she and Mr Lynch were awoken by the boat "tilting" at 4am - half an hour before it sank.
Jonathan Bloomer
Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of investment bank Morgan Stanley International, was confirmed dead on Thursday.
According to the Financial Times, Mr Bloomer appeared as a defence witness for Mr Lynch during his US criminal trial and the pair were good friends. He also chaired Autonomy's audit committee.
The 70-year-old was the chief executive of UK-Hong Kong insurer Prudential until he was ousted by the board in 2005.
He was also chairman of the insurance provider Hiscox.
Judy Bloomer
Mr Bloomer's wife Judy was on the yacht trip with her husband. Divers confirmed they found her body on Thursday.
Mrs Bloomer was a former board member at The Eve Appeal charity, which focuses on gynaecological cancers.
The charity described her as a "brilliant champion for women's health and medical research... an incredible supporter, committee member, and trustee of our charity for over 20 years".

Recaldo Thomas
The yacht's on-board chef Recaldo Thomas died in the sinking.
He was Canadian-Antiguan and part of the crew of the Bayesian.
His body was the first to be recovered from the wreckage.
Chris Morvillo
US lawyer Chris Morvillo was among those divers found dead on Thursday.
The father-of-two worked on Mr Lynch's US fraud trial and was a partner of law firm Clifford Chance's US branch.
Mr Morvillo was assistant attorney for the Southern District of New York between 1995 and 2005 and worked on the terrorist investigation into the 9/11 attacks.
In a recent LinkedIn post, he thanked the legal team that helped win Mr Lynch's trial.
Signing off the post, he said: "And, finally, a huge thank you to my patient and incredible wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, brilliant, and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.
"None of this would have been possible without your love and support. I am so glad to be home. And they all lived happily ever after…."
Neda Morvillo
Mr Morvillo's wife Neda died in the disaster alongside her husband.
The 57-year-old had a luxury jewellery brand, which she ran under her maiden name Neda Nassiri.

Ayla Ronald
Ayla Ronald, a senior associate at Clifford Chance, survived the yacht disaster, the law firm confirmed.
The 36-year-old worked alongside Chris Morvillo in helping defend Mike Lynch in court.
Clifford Chance said in a statement: "Our utmost priority is providing support to the family as well as our colleague Ayla Ronald, who together with her partner, thankfully survived the incident."
She is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, but lives in London, her father told local media there.
He said she was left "very shaken" but "she and her partner are alive".
Charlotte Golunski
Charlotte Golunski was on board the yacht and was rescued along with her one-year-old daughter, Sofia.
She spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, confirming she survived the yacht sinking and told how she kept her daughter alive after she was rescued.
"I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning," she said.
"It was all dark. In the water I couldn't keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others."
The 35-year-old is a partner at one of Mr Lynch's firms - Invoke Capital - and has worked there since 2012, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She also worked at Hewlett Packard, which acquired Autonomy in 2011, for 11 months.
Before that, she studied history at the University of Oxford.

James Emsley
Ms Golunski's partner James Emsley was also rescued from the yacht, according to Sicily's civil protection agency.
The 36-year-old is the father of her one-year-old daughter.
James Cutfield
The 51-year-old captain of the yacht spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica after he was rescued.
Mr Cutfield, from New Zealand, was taken for treatment at the Termini Imerese emergency unit, where he told the newspaper: "We didn't see it coming."
Leah Randall
Leah Randall was part of the Bayesian crew and survived the sinking.
She was pictured going ashore in Porticello on Monday morning and is from South Africa.
Her mother Heidi told Sky News said she was "beyond relieved that my daughter's life was spared by the grace of God".
"It doesn't make it any easier living with the heartache of those who have lost their lives [or are] missing. My very deepest condolences to the chef's family as they formed a great friendship," she said.
Katja Chicken
Katja Chicken was another South African member of crew on board the Bayesian and was pictured being brought to safety in Porticello on Monday.
The Italian coastguard confirmed on Tuesday evening that Leo Eppel, a crew member, also survived the yacht sinking.

Meet Pavel Durov, the tech billionaire who founded Telegram
- Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, is worth $15.5 billion.
- The Russian-born tech mogul fled from Moscow 10 years ago and now lives in Dubai.
- French police arrested Durov amid an investigation into criminal activity by users of Telegram.
Editor's note: This story first appeared in March 2022 and has been updated to reflect the most recent financial figures and Durov's arrest in France.
Pavel Durov is the founder and owner of messaging app Telegram.
Durov, who was born in St. Petersburg in Soviet Russia, is worth $15.5 billion, according to Forbes.
The tech entrepreneur cofounded encrypted-messaging service Telegram with his brother Nikolai in 2013. The brothers were born into a family of intellectuals, according the Digital-Life-Design Conference website. Durov spoke at the conference in January 2012.
Much of Durov's wealth comes from Telegram, which has 950 million active users and is valued at over $30 billion.
Before founding Telegram, Durov founded a Russian social network called Vkontakte.
A post shared by Pavel Durov (@durov)
Durov created the network in 2006 and sold a 12% stake for $300 million in 2015.
The site brought him fame: He became known as Russia's "biggest celebrity entrepreneur," according to The New York Times. But it also came with political trouble when Durov refused the Kremlin's demands to access Vkontakte data on Ukrainian protest leaders.
Durov said he was fired in April 2014 from his position as the CEO of Vkontakte as state-backed entities sought to control the network, Reuters reported. The Mail.Ru group, which is owned by oligarch Alisher Usmanov, bought the network for $1.47 billion later that year.
Usmanov's press service told Business Insider the group sold Vkontakte. State-run insurer Sogaz now owns it.
Durov told the Times he was forced to leave Moscow in 2014 after a SWAT team appeared at his home.
Durov's conflicts with the Kremlin didn't end with Vkontakte.
In 2018, Telegram was banned in Russia after Durov denied the Kremlin access to user data. In response to the ban, hundreds of people protested, some of whom held signs of Durov illustrated as a saint (pictured above). The app was reinstated in Russia two years later.
Today, Telegram is playing a major role in the war in Ukraine.
Durov vowed in a Telegram post in March 2022 to protect the data of Ukrainian users. Durov is of partial Ukrainian descent, according to the post.
"When I defied [the Kremlin's] demands, the stakes were high for me personally," Durov wrote. "I stand for our users no matter what. Their right to privacy is sacred."
Durov also launched a cryptocurrency wallet, called Fragment, in 2002. Durov has said the wallet "took only 5 weeks and 5 people including myself to put together."
Durov said some $50 million worth of usernames were purchased less than a month after Fragment launched.
Durov now lives in Dubai, where Telegram's operations are based.
Durov moved to Dubai in 2017 and relocated Telegram's operations to an office in Dubai's Media City, according to Bloomberg. The network had been previously been based in Berlin.
In an interview with Bloomberg in December 2017, Durov said moving to Dubai afforded him "better ways to use [his] money to benefit society," as the city has no personal income tax .
According to the Russian edition of Forbes , Durov obtained citizenship in the United Arab Emirates in February 2021 and was naturalized as a French citizen in August 2021.
In January 2018, Durov wrote on Twitter that Telegram is "unlikely to ever consider any location be [its] permanent base."
Durov has a lively social media presence.
In August 2017, Durov's Instagram post parodying Russian President Vladimir Putin went viral.
Durov's post on Instagram, aptly named the "Putin Shirtless Challenge," called for users to post photos of themselves bare-chested in the style of Putin.
"Two rules from Putin — no photoshop, no pumping. Otherwise you're not an alpha," Durov wrote in the post in August 2017. Over 3,000 posts with Durov's hashtag were uploaded on Instagram.
Despite having 2.5 million followers on X, Durov doesn't follow anyone, but once followed Elon Musk.
While not much is known about Durov's assets, he's been known to share the occasional yacht shot on Instagram.
Durov shared a photo from the deck of a Lurssen yacht off the coast of Italy in 2016.
The cost of a Lurssen yacht starts at about $1 million and can run as high as $185 million, according to Yacht World . Durov never confirmed if he owned the Lurssen yacht in the photo.
Durov said in an Instagram post in August 2016 that while he wasn't a "fan of giant Lurssen yachts," he liked the manufacturer's sailing vessel.
Durov posted another photo of a superyacht on Instagram in 2015. And in another post in 2022 on his official Telegram account, Durov claimed he doesn't own any private jets, yachts, cars, or houses, adding that he is "unlike most billionaires."
Durov's profile was once found on Tinder in 2017.
Bloomberg reported that Durov was "half-naked" in his profile photo on the dating app.
"Not looking for anything serious or not serious here," he wrote on his profile, according to Bloomberg. "Just playing with the app."
Durov was once married to Daria Bondarenko, who he met at university, according to Russia Beyond , citing a documentary on Durov by filmmaker Rodion Chepel.
Durov once said Silicon Valley has "limited cultural life."
Durov was writing in response to journalist and YouTuber Yury Dud's film about Silicon Valley. The film has garnered 52 million views on YouTube.
In the post , Durov listed seven reasons he did not want to move to Silicon Valley.
"The US is not the best place to live or run an IT business," Durov wrote. "Local programmers are expensive, spoiled and often unable to focus on work due to the flow of outside suggestions and ideas."
Durov also described the United States as a "police state" and said he was attacked in San Francisco in June 2015 by thieves who wanted to steal his phone.
Durov is dedicated to keeping Telegram secure for all its users, no matter who they are or what they are doing.
—Pavel Durov (@durov) March 18, 2017
Telegram is the "app of choice" for terror networks like ISIS, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute . But Durov has so far refused to limit access to the app or moderate its content to deter any certain group.
"We cannot make messaging technology secure for everybody except terrorists," Durov said in an interview with CNN in February 2016. "It's either secure or not secure."
Durov is also something of an instigator on his personal accounts.
In 2014, for example, when the Russian state called for a ban on Vkontakte, Durov's response was to post a photo of a dog in a hoodie on Twitter .
When Vkontakte was accused of hosting pornography, he changed his Twitter handle from "VK CEO" to "Porn King," according to The Calvert Journal . And in 2017, he shared his passport photo on Twitter, writing that it's "strangely suitable for media articles about terrorists using Telegram."
French police arrested Durov in 2024 amid an investigation into Telegram.
French authorities arrested Durov near Paris on August 24, 2024 amid an investigation into criminal activity on Telegram. Police nabbed Durov at Le Bourget airport as he tried to depart on his private jet.
An arrest warrant said Telegram had been used for money laundering, drug trafficking, and crimes against minors, among other offenses, the Associated Press reported.
Elon Musk, the owner of X who has also resisted moderating content, called the incident evidence of "dangerous times."
