Offered by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht VALENTINE is a 60 ft sailing catamaran. VALENTINE spends the summer and winter season in the Bahamas. She was delivered by the renowned boatbuilder Sunreef Yachts in 2021. The expansive yacht layout features 4 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates a maximum of 8 guests.

VALENTINE is presented primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is generous, with a prominent dining and seating area and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. The immersive cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. The cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). Multiple portholes offer desirable views, while providing privacy if needed.

Crew Information

Captain: Stephen Powell

Capt. Stephen Powell Captain Stephen Powell grew up sailing in Newport Beach, California. "My brother and I would spend the summer sailing in Newport Harbor, like a modern version of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. My entire family were lifeguards, sailors, scuba divers, pilots, and general Bon Vivants", he said. After graduating from the University of Southern California, Stephen traveled down to South Africa, to race and deliver sailboats, where he earned his Yachtmaster Ocean certification. Captain Stephen has sailed in all of the great oceans of the world and has logged in excess of 50,000 miles offshore, including two trans-Atlantic crossings and two Indian Ocean passages. He holds a USCG 200 ton Master license and is also a PADI Divemaster and a private pilot. In 2017 he purchased his very own 41' sloop in Palma de Mallorca, which he sailed across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean, and up the east coast of the USA. As a result of his extensive travels, Captain Stephen speaks fluent Spanish and can generally get by in a couple other languages as well. He will keep you entertained with tales of the high seas and even teach you a few sailing knots if you so choose. Chef Celia “CC” Corbin Chef and First Mate Celia, who goes by the nickname “CC”, was born and raised most of her life near the ocean in Southern California. It wasn’t until 2015 that CC gave up her corporate career as a Meeting & Event Planner and started traveling the world spending three of those months sailing across the South Pacific on a Lagoon 450. Traveling brought CC to earning her PADI Dive Instructor certification which then led her into the superyacht and luxury liveaboard industry where she worked in a variety of roles - one of them more recently being a chef cooking for 25 guests and crew combined in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. After nearly 7 years working in the yachting industry, she’s now able to combine her passion for the ocean and focus on her creativity skills preparing modern fare cuisine. When CC is not on charter, you’ll likely find her traversing through mountains and enjoying the culinary delights of the country she’s in or continuing her education working toward her sommelier certification and yoga teacher training. We’re pleased to have Celia onboard with her shared passion for the ocean and enthusiasm for food. Stephen & Celia have crewed that same vessel, Esperanza II, together for two seasons and are very much looking forward to their third season in 2023-24 as professional crew on Valentine, delivering excellent service and guest experiences to discrete clientele. They both share their shared passion for the ocean with their guests, Celia with her Pan Pacific cuisine and Stephen by identifying sea life and their habitat on snorkeling excursions. Both are excellent divers, and have experienced some of the world’s best dive sites from Komodo, Indonesia, to the Seychelles, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean. Stephen and Celia tailor each charter to the unique desires of each family. Some may choose an active charter that includes hiking, diving, wake boarding, and snorkeling, while others may be happy with a cold Caribbean cocktail and a good book. During diving expeditions Stephen & Celia find wild life to enhance the guests experience, and snap picture with a Go Pro so the clients have photographs to go along with their memories. On many occasions, they have organized boat concerts with local three piece bands, or steel pan players, that play on the aft deck while the guests float in the warm sea enjoying the music and a cold beer. The concerts have been a huge hit with guests for birthday’s, and other special occasions. Stephen particularly enjoys after dinner games with families, especially teens and children that need a good alternative form of entertainment to distract them from their Iphones. While sailing from place to place Stephen will entertain guests with tales of ship wrecks, or the golden age of piracy, or history about the local islands. Celia loves to share her passion for food with clients, especially foodies and those who love the nuances in her amazing dishes. Previous guests frequently comment on how much value the crew adds to the charter experience, and their client reviews are universally outstanding. Stewardess Caitlin Mahoney Caitlin was born on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and moved to Breckenridge, CO when she was 4 years old. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado was a wonderful upbringing that allowed her to explore skiing, snowboarding and a 15 year long figure skating career. Her parents are from Florida, so despite being raised in a landlocked state, every family vacation was spent in the sand, sun & salt water. Caitlin was raised with the values of hosting social gatherings and creating memorable events to last lifetime, many times shared over a great meal. Her family owned a small fine dining restaurant in a beautiful ski town which held the space for celebrations including proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, and special holidays. Caitlin’s earliest memories include setting the restaurant up for dinner service, taking reservations, decorating for the holidays and on the busiest nights of the year working as a hostess. She has always loved the art of entertainment shared over a delicious meal and fabulous cocktails. After 6 years of working as a concert marketer in the music industry, Caitlin made a career change and began working for a dive shop out of Boulder, CO. This new position opened her eyes to exploring the 72% of our planet which remains beneath the surface. Upon getting scuba certified she then went on to live in Cozumel, Mexico for a year followed by obtaining her divemaster and PADI Instructor certifications in Utila, Honduras. She met Stephen and CC last season in the Virgin Islands while she was working aboard another vessel as a chef. Caitlin looks forward to sharing her love for the ocean with you both above and beneath the surface and welcoming you aboard Valentine.

Stephen Powell<br /> Captain Stephen Powell grew up sailing in Newport Beach, California. "My brother and I would spend the summer sailing in Newport Harbor, like a modern version of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. My entire family were lifeguards, sailors, scuba divers, pilots, and general Bon Vivants", he said. <br /> <br /> After graduating from the University of Southern California, Stephen traveled down to South Africa, to race and deliver sailboats, where he earned his Yachtmaster Ocean certification. Captain Stephen has sailed in all of the great oceans of the world and has logged in excess of 50,000 miles offshore, including two trans-Atlantic crossings and two Indian Ocean passages. <br /> <br /> He holds a USCG 200 ton Master license and is also a PADI Divemaster and a private pilot. In 2017 he purchased his very own 41' sloop in Palma de Mallorca, which he sailed across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean, and up the east coast of the USA. As a result of his extensive travels, Captain Stephen speaks fluent Spanish and can generally get by in a couple other languages as well. He will keep you entertained with tales of the high seas and even teach you a few sailing knots if you so choose. <br /> <br /> Chef Celia “CC” Corbin<br /> <br /> Chef and First Mate Celia, who goes by the nickname “CC”, was born and raised most of her life near the ocean in Southern California. It wasn’t until 2015 that CC gave up her corporate career as a Meeting & Event Planner and started traveling the world spending three of those months sailing across the South Pacific on a Lagoon 450. Traveling brought CC to earning her PADI Dive Instructor certification which then led her into the superyacht and luxury liveaboard industry where she worked in a variety of roles - one of them more recently being a chef cooking for 25 guests and crew combined in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. <br /> <br /> After nearly 7 years working in the yachting industry, she’s now able to combine her passion for the ocean and focus on her creativity skills preparing modern fare cuisine. When CC is not on charter, you’ll likely find her traversing through mountains and enjoying the culinary delights of the country she’s in or continuing her education working toward her sommelier certification and yoga teacher training. <br /> <br /> We’re pleased to have Celia onboard with her shared passion for the ocean and enthusiasm for food. <br /> <br /> Stephen & Celia have crewed that same vessel, Esperanza II, together for two seasons and are very much looking forward to their third season in 2023-24 as professional crew on Valentine, delivering excellent service and guest experiences to discrete clientele. They both share their shared passion for the ocean with their guests, Celia with her Pan Pacific cuisine and Stephen by identifying sea life and their habitat on snorkeling excursions. Both are excellent divers, and have experienced some of the world’s best dive sites from Komodo, Indonesia, to the Seychelles, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean. <br /> <br /> Stephen and Celia tailor each charter to the unique desires of each family. Some may choose an active charter that includes hiking, diving, wake boarding, and snorkeling, while others may be happy with a cold Caribbean cocktail and a good book. During diving expeditions Stephen & Celia find wild life to enhance the guests experience, and snap picture with a Go Pro so the clients have photographs to go along with their memories. On many occasions, they have organized boat concerts with local three piece bands, or steel pan players, that play on the aft deck while the guests float in the warm sea enjoying the music and a cold beer. The concerts have been a huge hit with guests for birthday’s, and other special occasions. Stephen particularly enjoys after dinner games with families, especially teens and children that need a good alternative form of entertainment to distract them from their Iphones. <br /> <br /> While sailing from place to place Stephen will entertain guests with tales of ship wrecks, or the golden age of piracy, or history about the local islands. Celia loves to share her passion for food with clients, especially foodies and those who love the nuances in her amazing dishes. Previous guests frequently comment on how much value the crew adds to the charter experience, and their client reviews are universally outstanding. <br /> <br /> Stewardess Caitlin Mahoney<br /> <br /> Caitlin was born on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and moved to Breckenridge, CO when she was 4 years old. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado was a wonderful upbringing that allowed her to explore skiing, snowboarding and a 15 year long figure skating career. Her parents are from Florida, so despite being raised in a landlocked state, every family vacation was spent in the sand, sun & salt water. <br /> <br /> Caitlin was raised with the values of hosting social gatherings and creating memorable events to last lifetime, many times shared over a great meal. Her family owned a small fine dining restaurant in a beautiful ski town which held the space for celebrations including proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, and special holidays. Caitlin’s earliest memories include setting the restaurant up for dinner service, taking reservations, decorating for the holidays and on the busiest nights of the year working as a hostess. She has always loved the art of entertainment shared over a delicious meal and fabulous cocktails. <br /> <br /> After 6 years of working as a concert marketer in the music industry, Caitlin made a career change and began working for a dive shop out of Boulder, CO. This new position opened her eyes to exploring the 72% of our planet which remains beneath the surface. Upon getting scuba certified she then went on to live in Cozumel, Mexico for a year followed by obtaining her divemaster and PADI Instructor certifications in Utila, Honduras. She met Stephen and CC last season in the Virgin Islands while she was working aboard another vessel as a chef. He´s experienced on Mediterranean and Caribbean waters with an in depth knowledge of the coasts of the South of France, Balearic Islands, Sardinia, ... and the Caribbean Islands. <br /> Hanns has been sailing from a young age and started his sailing career immediately after getting his Yachtmaster off shore license. In addition to his yachting license he obtained several additional licenses such as, marine engineering and advanced First Aid to develop his knowledge and skills. He is also an Advanced Diver with Nitrox experience which can provide appropriate guidance during the sail. <br /> Hanns knows how to keep a boat in perfect condition. His great experience with navigation and race crew management makes sure you'll get safely to the most beautiful places on the Mediterranean sea. Hanns has few North and South Atlantic crossings on his list of achievements. As great experienced sailor Hanns knows the nicest places in the South of France, Sardinia, Ibiza, ... And he won't hesitate to show you the most extraordinary spots along the Caribbean Islands. Hanns will guide you through an unforgettable experience! <br /> As master on the boat, Hanns works with a team of very professional and knowledgeable crew who are experienced and skilled. He carefully selects the most sophisticated cook and/or hostess to complete his crew. Hanns knows how to entertain his clients properly. She started sailing in her teens in the Baltic and Italy, teaching Optimists in her free time. After initially starting her sea career Annette spent over 7 years of gaining valuable hospitality and managerial experience in London. Afterwards she returned to sea to complete her Yachtmaster licence. Since then Annette is focussing on cooking and providing happiness on a plate, sailing from the South of France to Croatia and back as well as a private residence in France and The US. Annette has absolved various advanced cooking certificates and her mission in cooking is to deliver healthy, flavourful and beautifully decorated dishes that will leave the guests satisfied and with a smile on their faces. Her passion to serve others, eye for detail, flair for beautiful cuisine, combined with a relaxing attitude makes a wonderful combination for guests whilst on board of the Valentine yacht.<br /> <br /> DECKHAND<br /> Colby Simpson<br /> <br /> Originally from the state of Georgia, Colby has been in the yachting industry for over a year and a half. Previously living in Los Angeles, California working in social media and as an executive assistant to several influencers he decided to make the change to yachting during the recent pandemic. Although he may be green-ish to the industry, Colby has great character and has picked up many valuable skills during the past year gaining the most experience to make your experience the best it can be! In his spare time Colby enjoys reading about mental health, living in the present and eating veggies. 2023 Boat Buyers Guide: Catamarans

The popularity of the multihull (aka catamaran or cat) fishing boats has never been greater, as more and more boatbuilders enter this growing segment of the market. The inherent stability of the catamaran design rolls less with the seas, making fishing offshore less tiresome and more comfortable. Available from 20 to 48 feet, catamarans typically offer a large fishing platform with generous storage and fishing amenities. They are available in a wide variety of deck layouts, including center-consoles, dual-consoles, and even pilothouse and express variants.

Big Picture

The large deck area of a catamaran enables many large underdeck storage lockers and insulated fish boxes in the sponsons. This gives anglers ample room for gear and the day’s catch. The catamaran’s stability, fishability, and smooth ride in rough seas make it attractive to anglers as well as day-cruisers. A center-console version adds 360 degrees of angler access to the rail. With the dual-console design, generous seating behind a beam-to-beam windshield makes for a great family fishing-friendly setup.

Live bait is one of the most popular types of fishing in virtually every coastal zone. To do it successfully requires optimal water capacity and proper flow. The minimum size of the outflow water plumbing should be twice the size of the inflow. The plumbing should have a drain at the bottom to shed scales at the end of the day, as well as a drain at the top of the well to adjust capacity and allow overflow. Above-deck transom-mounted wells should fully flood to the lids when running to keep baits from getting beat up.

Tip: A sump box with multiple pumps in case a pump fails is the best setup for first-rate livewells. Conveniently located inflow and outflow valves make it easy to optimize the flow without tiring your bait from swimming too much in the well.

Rod Storage

Having enough rod holders is essential to be successful for opportunity fishing. Look for vertical rod storage along the console and across the back of the T-top. Many models also have rod holders along the outboard transom wall. Having plenty of gunwale rod holders for drift- and kite-fishing is helpful.

Tip: Placing adjustable swivel rod holders by Gemlux makes deep-dropping, lure-fishing and drifting even easier because they allow your rods to face the direction the baits are fishing, yet they can be swiveled back to keep rods from sticking out of the boat while running and docking.

Manufacturers often offer multiple choices for horsepower, but whatever the choice, the engines must come in pairs. For example, you might order twin outboards (one for each sponson) or four outboards (two for each sponson), but single- or triple-outboard configurations are not common on a cat. Optimal selection should be made based on user load, weight of the boat, ride comfort , performance desires, and best case for resale. It’s a rare day when you can run wide open, but having more horsepower gives better torque at slower speeds and thus better control. Running larger engines slower gives better fuel efficiency too.

Tip: When possible, choose the highest horsepower offered because it typically leads to a better resale value with a shorter sales cycle.

Power steering from engine manufacturer Optimus or SeaStar is essential with the higher horsepower required for larger boats, and it makes installing and operating the upper station in a tower far more practical and comfortable.

With the power demands of electronics, livewell pumps, stereo amps and more, it is wise to have at least two house batteries, and for larger boats, a third or fourth with a multibank charger for dockside. Each engine should have its own dedicated battery as well.

Electronics

Typically choosing the largest screen or multiple screens that will fit on the console is best-case scenario for ease of use, ergonomics, and visibility. VHF radios, stereo controller, and equipment switches for lighting, pumps, and accessories should all be integrated with greatest visibility and ease of operator reach.

A Tale of Two Hulls

A catamaran rides on pair of hulls, or sponsons, each thinner and sharper than that of a similarly sized monohull boat. The narrow sponsons of the cat tend to slice easily through water to deliver a smooth ride, even in rough seas. At the same time, with the sponsons positioned out to the sides of the boat, cats tend to roll less, thus providing great stability to enhance crew comfort, security and safety. However, cats tend to corner more flatly than a monohull, and some hulls (but not all) tend to lean outward versus inward during a turn.

Experts Say

Newer designs such as Invincible’s Morelli and Melvin-designed semi-asymmetrical sponsons eliminate some of the negatives of the cat design, such as “sneezing,” where water sprays out the front of the boat when hitting a wave. They’ve also controlled the uncomfortable “outboard lean” sensation common in older designs when in a turn. Once transitioned to a catamaran, many become true believers and preach the benefits of the design.

I recall one trip out of Key West, Florida, aboard an Invincible 40 Cat with four 350 hp outboards to the Dry Tortugas. It was a 60-mile run, and we made it there in 70 minutes. The main deck aft has a large sunbed in the shade on the starboard side and a wet bar to port, while a large alfresco dining table to seat all guests takes up the central area. Stairs lead down both hulls to the water, and a hydraulic swim platform can create a terrace above the sea for lounging with panoramic views of the anchorage.

Side walkways lead around to the foredeck, which provides two broad sunbeds and a recessed corner sofa with drinks table and widescreen TV, plus a pair of bow net trampolines for exercise and resting in the sunshine.

The accommodation is placed in the hulls, with the cutting-edge galley to port in the central area with an island counter centre that conceals a pop-up widescreen TV. Capt. Stephen Powell Captain Stephen Powell grew up sailing in Newport Beach, California. ´My brother and I would spend the summer sailing in Newport Harbor, like a modern version of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. My entire family were lifeguards, sailors, scuba divers, pilots, and general Bon Vivants´, he said. After graduating from the University of Southern California, Stephen traveled down to South Africa, to race and deliver sailboats, where he earned his Yachtmaster Ocean certification. Captain Stephen has sailed in all of the great oceans of the world and has logged in excess of 50,000 miles offshore, including two trans-Atlantic crossings and two Indian Ocean passages. He holds a USCG 200 ton Master license and is also a PADI Divemaster and a private pilot. In 2017 he purchased his very own 41´ sloop in Palma de Mallorca, which he sailed across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean, and up the east coast of the USA. As a result of his extensive travels, Captain Stephen speaks fluent Spanish and can generally get by in a couple other languages as well. He will keep you entertained with tales of the high seas and even teach you a few sailing knots if you so choose. Chef Celia “CC” Corbin Chef and First Mate Celia, who goes by the nickname “CC”, was born and raised most of her life near the ocean in Southern California. It wasn’t until 2015 that CC gave up her corporate career as a Meeting & Event Planner and started traveling the world spending three of those months sailing across the South Pacific on a Lagoon 450. Traveling brought CC to earning her PADI Dive Instructor certification which then led her into the superyacht and luxury liveaboard industry where she worked in a variety of roles - one of them more recently being a chef cooking for 25 guests and crew combined in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. After nearly 7 years working in the yachting industry, she’s now able to combine her passion for the ocean and focus on her creativity skills preparing modern fare cuisine. When CC is not on charter, you’ll likely find her traversing through mountains and enjoying the culinary delights of the country she’s in or continuing her education working toward her sommelier certification and yoga teacher training. We’re pleased to have Celia onboard with her shared passion for the ocean and enthusiasm for food. Stephen & Celia have crewed that same vessel, Esperanza II, together for two seasons and are very much looking forward to their third season in 2023-24 as professional crew on Valentine, delivering excellent service and guest experiences to discrete clientele. They both share their shared passion for the ocean with their guests, Celia with her Pan Pacific cuisine and Stephen by identifying sea life and their habitat on snorkeling excursions. Both are excellent divers, and have experienced some of the world’s best dive sites from Komodo, Indonesia, to the Seychelles, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean. Stephen and Celia tailor each charter to the unique desires of each family. Some may choose an active charter that includes hiking, diving, wake boarding, and snorkeling, while others may be happy with a cold Caribbean cocktail and a good book. During diving expeditions Stephen & Celia find wild life to enhance the guests experience, and snap picture with a Go Pro so the clients have photographs to go along with their memories. On many occasions, they have organized boat concerts with local three piece bands, or steel pan players, that play on the aft deck while the guests float in the warm sea enjoying the music and a cold beer. The concerts have been a huge hit with guests for birthday’s, and other special occasions. Stephen particularly enjoys after dinner games with families, especially teens and children that need a good alternative form of entertainment to distract them from their Iphones. While sailing from place to place Stephen will entertain guests with tales of ship wrecks, or the golden age of piracy, or history about the local islands. Celia loves to share her passion for food with clients, especially foodies and those who love the nuances in her amazing dishes. Previous guests frequently comment on how much value the crew adds to the charter experience, and their client reviews are universally outstanding. Stewardess Caitlin Mahoney Caitlin was born on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and moved to Breckenridge, CO when she was 4 years old. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado was a wonderful upbringing that allowed her to explore skiing, snowboarding and a 15 year long figure skating career. Her parents are from Florida, so despite being raised in a landlocked state, every family vacation was spent in the sand, sun & salt water. Caitlin was raised with the values of hosting social gatherings and creating memorable events to last lifetime, many times shared over a great meal. Her family owned a small fine dining restaurant in a beautiful ski town which held the space for celebrations including proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, and special holidays. Caitlin’s earliest memories include setting the restaurant up for dinner service, taking reservations, decorating for the holidays and on the busiest nights of the year working as a hostess. She has always loved the art of entertainment shared over a delicious meal and fabulous cocktails. After 6 years of working as a concert marketer in the music industry, Caitlin made a career change and began working for a dive shop out of Boulder, CO. This new position opened her eyes to exploring the 72% of our planet which remains beneath the surface. Upon getting scuba certified she then went on to live in Cozumel, Mexico for a year followed by obtaining her divemaster and PADI Instructor certifications in Utila, Honduras. She met Stephen and CC last season in the Virgin Islands while she was working aboard another vessel as a chef. Caitlin looks forward to sharing her love for the ocean with you both above and beneath the surface and welcoming you aboard Valentine.

Dear crew, it was one of the most beautiful weeks I´ve ever had. Kitesurfing in the Caribbean with pink flamingos was one of the most beautifully crazy moments in my entire life. The food was really a dream, a thousand thanks to CC! Also, a huge thank you to Steve for driving us everywhere. The dive at Wreck of the Rhone was beautiful! Incredible food; every meal was more than 5 star. The most amazing spot I´ve ever been kitesurfing was Anegada. It was a dream kitesurfing with pink flamingos in turquoise water. Words can´t express what a special week we all had on Valentine! Each stop was wonderful. Stephen, Cece & Rara planned a perfect mix of activities. Even with a small hiccup with the water on yacht, the fun kept going when Cece & Rara found us some unexpected fun at Nigel´s beach bar. But really the absolute highlight of the trip getting to experience the incredible meals prepared by Cece!!! She has such a culinary gift! We have loved this week and can´t wait to return! November 2023

This was my first vacation that I truly was able to 100% relax and not have to make any decisions. I´m a type A personality who plans every minute to the detail, but once you take your shoes off and step aboard everything is taken care of for you. The Valentine is comparable to many 5 star hotels that I have stayed at with all the luxuries. The boat is so roomy and beautiful and the service and food is outstanding. The crew is so knowledgeable about where to go each night and the ease of discovering each island on your own time. This is one of those trips/boats you can´t explain to someone. They just have to experience it for themselves.

Caitlin, Where to begin? You two lovely humans helped to create some amazing core memories for our family. We will be forever grateful for the seamless way in which we slipped into the world of 3 Sisters. Johnny, Teagan, Claire, and I will cherish the magical experience of sailing, exploring, snorkeling, laughing, eating, and drinking and then laughing some more. Kudos to the expert guidance, exceptional meals, fun, and friendship. Gordon & Caitlin, you are both truly talented in every way! An experience that far exceeded anything we could have possibly imagined or hoped for!

Thank you so much Captain Stephen for making our first overnight trip aboard a catamaran unforgettable! And to Chef CiCi for a group who are foodies- you left us very impressed with your culinary skills! The Esperanza is a beautiful yacht and we were honored to have spent 3 wonderful days at sea. We could not have asked for a kinder crew. You both are so kind, thoughtful and caring. Thank you for the incredible, wonderful memories- we will never forget this trip of a life time!

What a fantastic four days in the U.S.V.I ! A huge thank you to Stephen and C.C. for taking such good care of us. Stephen knew all the good spots to see rays, turtles, fish and an unexpected live band performance on the back of a boat- so fun! My favorite was the beautiful beaches! C.C. prepared the most amazing food- best chef ever! We survived four days with two adults and five teenagers and are already planning out next trip with Stephen and C.C.! Sad to leave this beautiful place.

What a great week. Food and fun was over the top! Absolutely awesome! on our week long adventure celebrating the life of our dear friend, we felt every ripple of his spirit egging us on to adventure and mischief! He was with us in rainbows, spotted eagle rays, sea turtles and nearly every fish on the card. Not to mention, dice games and shots, wrestling not the lily pad and rum punches in hand on the beach reminiscing on the good times. BLOWN AWAY by every single meal chef CiCi and all of Captain Stephen´s stories. Heaven on earth. See you guys next year!

Awesome trip in every way

Thank you for the most amazing trip EVER! loved every second and can´t wait to do it again. So many amazing sails, meals, snorkel trips, storytelling, Disaranno pouring and all the desserts! Thank you Stephen and CC for all you did aboard Esperanza to make it the most memorable week! It was just perfection! Food and EVERYTHING was just so delicious and amazing!

A bucket list trip!

From the moment we we stepped on the boat we knew it would be an amazing trip. We enjoyed Stephen´s knowledge of the islands and hit many of the ´hot spots´. Cece´s food was amazing! She quickly picked up on our picky teenagers preferences and catered to that. There were many unplanned events on our trip but you guys adjusted with grace. Thank you for a relaxing slowdown which our family needed very much!

Experience of a lifetime!

Going on a charter for the first time is a lot like going to you first day if school. Excitement is mixed with anxiety. Stephen and CC could not have been more warm and welcoming. Each of them did an exceptional job at putting us at ease, anticipating our every need and being so patient with our deci- sions that sometimes changed like the winds, as our journey through the USVI and BVI comes close, we will take home experience of a lifetime as well as two new close family friends Stephen, thank you for being our guide and great orator. CC, you have set a new standard by which all other culinary experiences will be judged. We are so grateful for you both, thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Food - OMG!!!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience! Every day was an adventure. The kids absolutely loved snorkeling and diving. You took us to amazing spots. Our bad weather day was a success due to your quick thinking. The food - OMG ! So much and all so GOOD! The surf and turf was a fan favorite and so were the yummy lunch pastas and wraps. Every meal was creative and cooked perfectly! I´ve never sen my kids each so much :) We truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality and wish you both the very best in the future!

This Trip Was Unforgettable!

Many memories were made on Esperanza II that will last a lifetime. Thank you to Chef CC with her food that exceeded our expectations in every way! Meet the Crew

Capt. Stephen Powell

Captain Stephen Powell grew up sailing in Newport Beach, California. "My brother and I would spend the summer sailing in Newport Harbor, like a modern version of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. My entire family were lifeguards, sailors, scuba divers, pilots, and general Bon Vivants", he said.

After graduating from the University of Southern California, Stephen traveled down to South Africa, to race and deliver sailboats, where he earned his Yachtmaster Ocean certification. Captain Stephen has sailed in all of the great oceans of the world and has logged in excess of 50,000 miles offshore, including two trans-Atlantic crossings and two Indian Ocean passages.

He holds a USCG 200 ton Master license and is also a PADI Divemaster and a private pilot. In 2017 he purchased his very own 41' sloop in Palma de Mallorca, which he sailed across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean, and up the east coast of the USA. As a result of his extensive travels, Captain Stephen speaks fluent Spanish and can generally get by in a couple other languages as well. Chef Celia CC” Corbin

Chef and First Mate Celia, who goes by the nickname CC”, was born and raised most of her life near the ocean in Southern California. It wasn’t until 2015 that CC gave up her corporate career as a Meeting & Event Planner and started traveling the world spending three of those months sailing across the South Pacific on a Lagoon 450. Traveling brought CC to earning her PADI Dive Instructor certification which then led her into the superyacht and luxury liveaboard industry where she worked in a variety of roles - one of them more recently being a chef cooking for 25 guests and crew combined in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos.

After nearly 7 years working in the yachting industry, she’s now able to combine her passion for the ocean and focus on her creativity skills preparing modern fare cuisine. When CC is not on charter, you’ll likely find her traversing through mountains and enjoying the culinary delights of the country she’s in or continuing her education working toward her sommelier certification and yoga teacher training.

We’re pleased to have Celia onboard with her shared passion for the ocean and enthusiasm for food.

Stephen & Celia have crewed that same vessel, Esperanza II, together for two seasons and are very much looking forward to their third season in 2023-24 as professional crew on Valentine, delivering excellent service and guest experiences to discrete clientele. They both share their shared passion for the ocean with their guests, Celia with her Pan Pacific cuisine and Stephen by identifying sea life and their habitat on snorkeling excursions. Both are excellent divers, and have experienced some of the world’s best dive sites from Komodo, Indonesia, to the Seychelles, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean.

Stephen and Celia tailor each charter to the unique desires of each family. Some may choose an active charter that includes hiking, diving, wake boarding, and snorkeling, while others may be happy with a cold Caribbean cocktail and a good book. During diving expeditions Stephen & Celia find wild life to enhance the guests experience, and snap picture with a Go Pro so the clients have photographs to go along with their memories. On many occasions, they have organized boat concerts with local three piece bands, or steel pan players, that play on the aft deck while the guests float in the warm sea enjoying the music and a cold beer. The concerts have been a huge hit with guests for birthday’s, and other special occasions. Stephen particularly enjoys after dinner games with families, especially teens and children that need a good alternative form of entertainment to distract them from their Iphones.

While sailing from place to place Stephen will entertain guests with tales of ship wrecks, or the golden age of piracy, or history about the local islands. Celia loves to share her passion for food with clients, especially foodies and those who love the nuances in her amazing dishes. Previous guests frequently comment on how much value the crew adds to the charter experience, and their client reviews are universally outstanding.

Stewardess Caitlin Mahoney

Caitlin was born on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and moved to Breckenridge, CO when she was 4 years old. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado was a wonderful upbringing that allowed her to explore skiing, snowboarding and a 15 year long figure skating career. Her parents are from Florida, so despite being raised in a landlocked state, every family vacation was spent in the sand, sun & salt water.

Caitlin was raised with the values of hosting social gatherings and creating memorable events to last lifetime, many times shared over a great meal. Her family owned a small fine dining restaurant in a beautiful ski town which held the space for celebrations including proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, and special holidays. Caitlin’s earliest memories include setting the restaurant up for dinner service, taking reservations, decorating for the holidays and on the busiest nights of the year working as a hostess. She has always loved the art of entertainment shared over a delicious meal and fabulous cocktails.

After 6 years of working as a concert marketer in the music industry, Caitlin made a career change and began working for a dive shop out of Boulder, CO. This new position opened her eyes to exploring the 72% of our planet which remains beneath the surface. Upon getting scuba certified she then went on to live in Cozumel, Mexico for a year followed by obtaining her divemaster and PADI Instructor certifications in Utila, Honduras. She met Stephen and CC last season in the Virgin Islands while she was working aboard another vessel as a chef. Caitlin looks forward to sharing her love for the ocean with you both above and beneath the surface and welcoming you aboard Valentine.

Best Catamaran Fishing Boat Brands

Choosing the best catamaran fishing boats is no easy task, because in this day and age, you have plenty to choose from. This wasn’t always the case, but in recent years more and more power catamaran fishing boats have been hitting the market. The reasons are simple: Whether you’re looking at an offshore fishing catamaran, inshore catamaran fishing boats, or small catamaran fishing boats, foot-for-foot they tend to run smoother and more efficiently than their monohull brethren. While all the types of fishing boats are different and each has its own advantages and drawbacks, as a general rule, if you want to get to the fish fast in rough seas, nothing is better than a powercat for the job.

It’s tough to try to sort through various builders and nail down the best fishing boat brands , and the increase in the number of catamaran fishing boat manufacturers means choosing the top picks in this genre is as tough as any other. So, which brands are best? Here are our top picks in some of the most important categories and why we think they make the grade.

Catamaran Center Console Boat Brands

This will be a very short section, because virtually all of the catamaran sport fishing boats being built today are center consoles. Yes, some manufacturers offer pilothouse models or cuddy cabins, but those that don’t offer a lineup consisting mostly of center consoles are few and far between. So, keep on reading—the manufacturers we call out as tops for the more specific categories below all fall into the category of best catamaran center console boat brands, as well.

Offshore Fishing Catamaran Brands

Offshore boats need to meet some prerequisites: they have to be large and competent enough to run dozens of miles from shore, have the fuel capacity for cruising hours on end, and of course they need all the fishing accouterments to handle big game pelagics like tunas and billfish.

In many ways, Freeman is partially responsible for the current wave of cat popularity, because their 34- to 47-foot fleet was quickly adopted by a number of offshore fishing guides after they splashed their first model in 2007. Their boats are known for hat-stripping performance, often cruising comfortably at 50 mph or more, even in a head sea, with top-end speeds sometimes exceeding 70 mph. Tremendous fuel capacity and utterly massive fishboxes are some other traits the Freemans are famous for.

Invincible Boats offers a lineup including both monohulls and power catamarans , with center console cats ranging from 33 to 46 feet plus a 46-foot pilothouse model. These boats post spectacular speeds with cruising in the 50 mph range and often they can break 70 mph at top-end, thanks to semi-asymmetrical hulls with near-vertical inside walls. Invincible is also known for its advanced and customizable livewell systems. On the 46, for example, the boat can be rigged with up to four livewells up to 70 gallons each, fed by a sea chest system with as many as six pumps.

When judged by the number of hulls built, World Cat is one of the biggest powercat manufacturers in existence, and the company has a lineup that starts small but includes five models from 26 to 40 feet that are up to the task of offshore fishing. They have all the basic fishing features, plenty of range, and comparatively good performance, but what they’re known for when matched up against the competition is a healthy dose of family-friendly features. Unlike some angling-dedicated offshore fishing catamaran models, the World Cats feature lots of comfy seating, roomy head console compartments, freshwater showers, stereo systems, and similar touches that can take the edge off a long day of fishing.

Inshore Fishing Catamaran Boat Brands

Inshore anglers can be just as demanding as the offshore crowd, and when the weather is right many of them will head into the open ocean as well. So, the main defining factor separating offshore fishing catamaran boats from inshore catamaran fishing boats is simply size. And often, the line between the two gets blurred. As a result, you’ll see some newcomers here, but some of the best catamaran fishing boat brands we’ve already talked about could easily pull a repeat performance.

Caymas is a newcomer to the catamaran world, having built only monohulls up to the 2023 model year. Their new 34, however, is an impressive boat which has offshore abilities and will also make an excellent inshore fishing machine. It rides on a set of twin-stepped hulls with 18/22-degree deadrise surfaces at the transom and 50/55-degree entries at the bow, features a Hooker sea chest livewell system with 70 gallons standard and an additional 50 gallons optional, and plenty of high-end perks like lighted stowage compartments, a JL Marine audio system, and USB ports at the helm.

Tideline is a small, semi-custom builder in North Carolina, and their boats can be difficult to find on the market, but we need to mention them here because they build a 24-footer that’s well known as one of the finest inshore hybrid fishing cats around. With twin 200-hp outboards, it boasts 50-plus-mph performance, has an utterly massive forward casting deck for slinging lures to gamefish like reds and specks, and hull draft is a mere 14 inches so it can sneak into the shallows where few anglers tread.

Twin Vee does make some large models intended for offshore use but their 24- to 28-foot center console models are perfect for inshore angling. Better yet for many family fishermen who want a multipurpose platform, they also offer a pair of dual console 24-foot models. Twin Vees have a “compression tunnel” that packs air between the two hulls and compresses it as the boat moves forward, creating a cushion of sorts that makes for an unusually soft ride in choppy seas.

World Cat is back as we discuss the inshore scene, thanks to models like their 235CC and 260 and 280CC-X. The 235CC is designed like a bay boat, with large fore and aft casting decks, while the 260CC-X features a very unusual drop-down transom design, with the livewell and fishbox shifted into widened aft gunwales. Like other World Cats, these boats have plenty of comfort features to go along with the angling perks.

Small Catamaran Fishing Boat Brands

“Small” is a relative term, and while 20- to 24-footers may seem like small catamaran fishing boats to some folks, they seem mighty big to others. However, the distinction is more or less moot because in the current marketplace, no major production builders drop down below 22 feet, seven inches of LOA (the World Cat 235CC). If you want a cat under this size, you can look for a custom builder or search the used boat market. Twin Vee made plenty of 19- to 22-foot boats in years past, Tideline made a 19, and when they were in operation, catamaran boat brands like Leader and Nautico made a number of powercats between 14 and 21 feet.

Choosing the Best Catamaran Brand For You

Are there some powercat brands out there that build a great boat, but we haven’t mentioned? Absolutely. Arrow Cat builds a pair of interesting cabin boats that aren’t 100-percent fishing machines, but do have semi-fishy cockpits that would work just fine for plenty of people. C Dory makes a 25-footer that falls into the same category. And Aquila , which traditionally built large cruising boats, has recently introduced a 28-foot center console billed as a fishing boat. Any of these, or others, could be the “best” brand for you, depending on your personal needs and tastes. But the power catamaran fishing boat manufacturers we’ve called out here are all arguably at the top of the heap—nd if you take one for a sea trial, we’re betting you’ll agree.

AmeraCat took the original 27′ Gen 1 back to the drawing board in 2014 and changed things up a bit to make our fishing cat faster, smoother and more fuel efficient. We added higher gunnels, more displacement and managed to give our Center Console Catamaran even more space by increasing the beam to 9′. The 27′ Gen II is perfect for any recreational or commercial use and can be fully customized to meet any needs. With great handling from this center console fishing catamaran, you will not only have the softer ride but docking the 27′ Gen II is a breeze. All AmeraCat boats are made to order in our factory in South Florida so any customization is available. We believe that your boat should be built your way! The 27′ Gen II is our most popular center console model. It’s designed perfectly for offshore fishing, diving or a nice cruise on the water with the family. The 27′ Gen II is lightweight, roomy, extremely stable in rough seas and it’s the perfect fit for law enforcement, government or any other commercial use. With many different options to choose from such as gunnel mount rod holders, dive ladder, outriggers, downriggers or even a few extra cup holders, you can customize an AmeraCat to fit your every need.

With a max horsepower of 500, you have a wide variety of twin engines to choose from that will get you to the fishing grounds fast, safe and most importantly, DRY. The 27′ Gen II can comfortably fish up to 6 anglers with plenty of room for tackle, live bait, fish boxes and coolers. Just like all the models in the AmeraCat lineup, the 27′ Gen II is an offshore fishing catamaran that is built with NO WOOD and cuts through the waves like a knife.
