First launched in 2021, the Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht has had its share of accolades including 'Top Sport Cruiser Over 45 Feet' at the Motor Boat Awards and 'Best Exterior Design' at the 2021 World Yacht Trophies. Sunseeker Yachts has wonderfully integrated the experience of driving a sports car into their upper helm. The SkyHelm™ features an incredibly cool steering wheel, radical helm seats with carbon fiber backrests, and a futuristic console. Steady your feet against the foot-rest, lower back your helm seat and push that throttle down for a thrilling 35-knot ride thanks to the twin Volvo D-13 IPS 1350 engines.
As with most of their model ranges, Sunseeker continually develops new boats in a variety of formats. In addition to the 65 Sport Yacht , the Predator 65 is also offered in this range for those that want a more traditional express cruiser style with no sport bridge. Sunseeker describes their award winning model as being "akin to driving a high-performance convertible supercar", of course with all of the luxury accommodations on board you would expect. There are many builders that have yachts between 65 and 70 feet in their model range, but Sunseeker has most certainly made their mark in the category.
Currently, there are few available used boats in the United States for this model so waiting for inventory to become available may take some patience or travel. If you're looking to purchase a Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht, expect to pay between $3 million and $4 million depending on engine power, hours, equipment, condition, and location . The available Sunseeker 65's should include features like Seakeeper Gyro Stabilization, upgraded generators, and Garmin electronics.
If you have questions about purchasing a new or used boat, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or our main office at 718-984-7676. Whether we carry the model as a new boat brand or not, our team of expert sales professionals can guide you through the selection process so you make the most informed decision possible that meets your boating needs.
What Do Other 65-Foot Sunseeker Yachts Cost?
The Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht isn't the only model in this length range that Sunseeker has built or is available on the brokerage market. The Sunseeker 65 Manhattan was a popular boat that first premiered in 2014. While it doesn't go quite as fast as the 65 Sport Yacht (the 65 Manhattan tops out under 30 knots), it does feature a full flybridge with hardtop, something many boaters desire on their yacht. The cost of a Sunseeker 65 Manhattan is going to run between $1.2 million and $1.8 million, depending on the year it was built.
(Below: The Sunseeker 65 Manhattan.)
Another model in this range is the Sunseeker Predator 64, which has a length of 64' 9". While it doesn't have the '65' in the model name, the boat should be considered 65-feet for these purposes. You will not notice a difference in the length between the Predator 64 and the Manhattan 65, for example. The Sunseeker Predator 64 first hit the market in 2009 and is no longer built today. You can still find a Predator 64 on the brokerage market that are selling for between $650,000 and $1 million.
(Below: The Sunseeker Predator 64.)
One feature that the Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht has over the other previous models is their dedicated, optional Beach Club area. By carrying the tender on the swim platform, the tender garage gets transformed into a private spot right at the water's edge and features a wet bar, fridge, BBQ, and moveable furniture. This allows the owner to create the perfect arrangement of seats for the amount of guests on board, facilitating conversation in the most beautiful environment. There is also a massive sunpad aft of the cockpit with an adjustable backrest, allowing the sunbathers to position themselves facing either direction. (Seen below.)

The 65 Convertible was restyled with a raised foredeck and swept back superstructure, rounded edges, and new frameless, tinted windows for a sleek contemporary look. The interior was updated with a standard 4-stateroom, 3-head accommodations layout; a 3-stateroom, 3-head layout was optional. The fourth starboard aft stateroom with private head and utility room access, could be for crew, especially with an optional bulkhead door to the engine room. The main deck salon, galley and dinette became a large open space for relaxing and entertaining with beautifully finished maple (or optional dark cherry) grain-matched woodwork, fluted valances, and 2” wood window blinds. Entertainment center on starboard side faces couch. Hatteras designers filled every accessible space with stowage, including beneath furniture. The L-shaped couch in the salon has storage underneath, as does the adjacent coffee table that opens with a set of gas-assisted struts. Forward to starboard, the U-shaped dinette seats 5 and has drawers underneath.
The full-service galley is forward portside directly across from the dinette for easy access. Amenities include drawer-style Sub-Zero undercounter refrigerator/freezer units, 4-burner electric stove, convection microwave oven with wood fascia, and plenty of drawers and high-gloss finished maple cabinets (dark cherry was optional). Solid surface countertops with undermounted sink provide sufficient area to prep dinner for five. A trash compactor was available as a Hatteras option.
The 4-stateroom accommodations layout features the master suite to port with 2 cedar-lined closets, built-in bulkhead cabinets, and tapered queen berth with cedar-lined storage beneath. Ensuite head features stall shower and solid surface countertops with integral sink, high-gloss maple (standard) or cherrywood cabinets. Forepeak VIP guest stateroom features a centerline tapered queen berth with cedar-lined storage beneath, cedar-lined hanging closet, drawers, and overhead bins. Private access to guest head. Starboard stateroom with upper and lower bunks has storage under lower bunk and a large closet. Guest head also features stall shower and solid surface countertops with sink. The fourth stateroom has an ensuite head and access to utility room and engine room as an option for crew. 6’6” headroom throughout.
The cockpit is a huge 183 sq ft area designed for battling trophy gamefish. Set-up includes a bait center with refrigerator/freezer and sink, tackle locker, in-sole fishbox (that could be refrigerated), transom livewell, rod holders, wide transom door, drink box, and other storage. Hatteras offered a chipped-ice maker, Murray Brothers fighting chair, and cockpit controls as options.
The standard open bridge features a forward raised helm deck for enhanced visibility and an extended aft deck overhang to shade the forward cockpit area. An aft fishing station on bridge provides view of cockpit action for backing down on fish and for backing into a slip. The power actuated console conceals all electronic equipment under a gasketed lid and is standard equipment. Extra rod storage is beneath side bench seating. An enclosed air-conditioned bridge with spiral stairwell to starboard side of salon was an option Hatteras offered for the 65 Convertible and also included aft controls for backing on fish and docking. Tower, outriggers, electronic teaser reels and other special equipment were owner options. A few refinements were made to the legendary Hatteras hull bottom to improve performance and durability. The propeller pocket angle was slightly modified to reduce draft and optimize prop thrust.
Aft chine rails that taper forward added more planing surface for lift and slow speed (trolling) stability. And the rudder post shelves were upgraded to fiberglass to prevent deterioration. The thick solid fiberglass bottom and keel, foam-cored fiberglass stringers and hull sides, vacuum-bagged bulkheads and decks are all fiberglassed to the hull in-mold for a perfect shape. Fiberglass encased steel engine mount supports help reduce vibration by preventing transfer to hull. Stanchions and cleats are backed with tapped aluminum plates. Huge 7-blade 48 x 88 Nibral props and 4” diameter shafts effectively drive the 50+ ton yacht—built like a tank to take on the rigors of blue water tournament fishing with the agility and speed to compete and bring in trophy-winning catches.
The Hatteras 65 Convertible length overall (LOA) is 65’5” with a beam of 18’ and 6’ draft. Fuel capacity is 1800 gallons; freshwater is 445 gallons and holding tank is 100 gallons. Standard engines were twin 1400hp CAT 3412E diesel engines. Optional engines were twin 1350hp Detroit Diesel 12V-2000 engines.
The Sunseeker Predator 65 is a 35-knot bundle of fun.
Based on the same hull as its sistership, the 65 Sport Yacht , the Predator 65 has an even purer profile. It eliminates features such as the 65 Sport Yacht’s upper deck, extra stairs, and sports-fly setup with a low-slung driving position, and instead offers a sliding carbon-fiber-and-glass sunroof—which means a proper open-yacht vibe on the main deck. There’s also a foredeck terrace and various cockpit furniture choices, along with a swim platform that can combine with the garage to create a beach club. Suffice it to say, during the day, the outdoors is awesome.
The standard cockpit setup includes a conventional transom sofa and a pair of bar stools to port. The stools help transform the aft-galley countertop into a bar, thanks to a drop-down electric window. Alternatively, an L-shaped sofa and bigger table to port can make the cockpit an even comfier alfresco hangout.
In addition to the galley aft, the salon has an amidships lounge and a two-seat helm offset to starboard. Amidships, flanked by full-height picture windows, the standard lounge area combines a booth sofa and an extendable table to port, and a two-seat sofa to starboard. An alternative layout loses the galley up so the lounge sofas to port can stretch all the way to the deck doors aft.
Sunseeker’s interiors have the sort of refinement found in high-quality cars, and that’s rare aboard boats. Take the bridge area, which is beautifully detailed and ergonomically clever. All the usual information is neatly presented on two Garmin touchscreen multifunction displays configured with Volvo Penta’s Glass Cockpit software, but I couldn’t take my eyes off a pair of small, round digital displays beneath them, providing essential driver information. Skippers choose what these round displays show by twisting a knob; speed, fuel state and rudder angle are what I wanted to see.
Belowdecks, the accommodations include a standard three or optional four staterooms, plus a day head. The owners’ space is amidships aft, with a forward-facing king berth, a vanity to starboard, a chaise lounge or breakfast booth for two to port, and a shower room to starboard. The VIP stateroom is in the bow, and a twin-berth en suite guest stateroom is to starboard.
There are four options for the amidships area to port, which is effectively the area outside the owners’ stateroom door. A utility area is standard. The Predator 65 that I got aboard, which was headed for the US East Coast, had this layout, with plenty of linen stowage and space for the washer-dryer. Another option is for this space to become a galley down or a section of an enlarged owners’ stateroom with a study. Or it can be turned into a mini salon or fourth stateroom, albeit with room for just a single bunk.
For power, owners can choose from twin 900 hp Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200s or 1,000 hp D13-IPS1350s. All 65 Sport Yacht and Predator 65 orders to date have included the larger powerplants.
Sunseeker’s Predator boats have enviable handling reputations, and this one doesn’t disappoint. There was a serious breeze for our English Channel jaunt on board, which meant we had to pick our moments for pushing the throttles to their stops. Flat out at just over 2,400 rpm, the Predator 65 hit about 35 knots every time. This was running the yacht at around half-load and with an empty garage.
The eco-cruise range, in theory, could be as high as 1,100 nautical miles at 7.5 knots or 580 nautical miles at 10 knots. But given the need for speed of most Predator 65 buyers, 325 nautical miles at 23 knots is the more interesting calculation.
Personally, I prefer the Predator 65 to the 65 Sport Yacht. As good as the SkyHelm is on the 65 Sport Yacht—and it is very good—I never spend much time in the upstairs driver’s seat. Whereas, with a Predator 65, the roof would only ever close with the setting of the sun.
The Predator 65’s tender garage is supposedly 1.5 times wider than the Predator 74’s. It can house a 12-foot jet tender as well as several smaller toys. Fully decked out, it can help transform the stern into a beach club.
Various light-dark schemes are available for the Predator 65. The boat I got aboard had the most popular combination: a dark, satin-sheen smoked eucalyptus with silver-oak soles. Other veneer choices include earth-gray oak, American black walnut and wenge, all in satin or high-gloss finishes.
The Predator 65’s double-curved, laminated windscreen is reportedly one of the biggest single panes of glass ever installed aboard a Sunseeker model.

Colossal center-consoles have trickled into the marine market over the past few years, but this 65-footer is the first of such commanding size, and the only one powered by more than 3,000 outboard horsepower. Its length and beam can intimidate, but its all-electronic/hydraulic helm controls have made it a sweet baby to handle in any conditions.
HCB Yachts calls the Estrella a production model, but the company will customize it any way you want. My test boat came seriously outfitted as a fish boat, but it was filled with cruising comfort too. Ready to fish well offshore, the 65 can race across the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas in an hour and provide luxurious accommodations once you get there.
Run, Baby, Run! On the docks in the Florida Keys this past December, I approached the Estrella from the stern quarter. The row of five Seven Marine 627 outboards seized my attention. While I ogled the motors, I realized it took several more paces to draw up even with the vessel’s sumptuous, crowd-pleasing foredeck.
The size of that deck is the only thing that can overshadow the massive horsepower. Don’t worry about grabbing a workout when you visit the Bahamas — 40 laps around the center console equals a mile, and you’ll enjoy a better view than in a stinky gym.
The outboards come with ZF transmissions and electronic throttle and shift. With that and the integral power steering, controlling these wooly mammoths seems simple. The double-lever ZF controls feature a short stroke but firm feedback, making it easy to make minute throttle adjustments. HCB positioned the trim controls overhead in a five-button panel so the helmsman can fine-tune trim for each engine at any throttle speed.
In my test, once the 65 came up on plane and I trimmed it for 40 mph, I found little need for adjustment unless I chose to drop the power and spin the helm into a hard turn. I did that too, carving crisp circles, and tightening them up by adding more throttle.
But here’s what was astonishing in my test: This beauty weighed 65,000 pounds with five engines. So when I pressed the throttle levers forward and the boat launched to plane in 8.9 seconds, I was impressed. I clocked the boat to 30 mph in just 13.4 seconds.
The Estrella settled down quickly, giving me a commanding view forward from my standing position at the helm.
I could’ve sat at the helm and still enjoyed a panoramic on-plane view over the bow, and sometimes I did. The five-across custom helm seats felt firm but forgiving, absorbing the landings as the hull cleaved and crushed our doubled-up wakes.
These seats will not easily bottom out in seas because the foam is injection-molded to a specific shape. The foam will resist water absorption too, keeping the seats in top condition for decades with reasonable care. The 65 also comes with a sleigh seat aft of the helm row for five additional forward‑facing riders.
That Ahhhhhh Moment When you design a 65-foot sport-fishing center-console yacht, the platform can do far more than provide competitive fishability. And when you sink into one of the dual forward lounges or snuggle into the queen-size air-conditioned berth belowdecks, an inevitable, audible “ahhhhhh” says everything about the luxury wrapped around the fish-battling features.
Take the fine mahogany woodworking in the ladder-back trim on the helm seats, the custom polished-teak helm pod and the hand-carved teak fighting chair. The finish on these parts is so tough, deep and lustrous, you have to look hard to convince yourself they’re wood. They are, though. So is the teak sole — smoothly sanded, tightly laid and comfortable underfoot. A matching covering board surrounds the boat atop the gunwales. At the transom, the covering board thickens and widens to protect the dual 80-gallon livewells beneath.
I found more teak at the step to the mezzanine seating. Beneath the step, HCB installed hatches for tackle boxes and a pair of refrigerated drawers.
Besides the mezzanine seating and the enormous luxury lounge ahead of the console, large lounges rim the bow. The teak sole between these lounges features an electric jack that raises the flooring to either complete a sun pad or create a table.
If you’re into outdoor cuisine, the helm-station sole can electrically rise to form a table between the sleigh seating and reversed helm-station bucket seats. The factory can even convert the mezzanine to a full outdoor kitchen with an electric grill, sink and fridge.
The cabin below offers a large shower in the roomy head compartment. There’s an abbreviated galley, but plenty of room to make coffee or even breakfast. A mirrored one-way glass backing the counter reveals a TV, but only when the appliance is switched on.
Custom Layouts My tester could’ve come equipped with an aft lounge instead of the dual livewells, flanked by Frigid Rigid coolers with jump-seat cushions nested on either side. If an owner opts for the lounge, HCB would plumb the forward coolers as livewells.

Shotgun, gunwale and hardtop rod holders seem so numerous that it takes less than a glance to holster a stick in a hurry. On my test boat, that hardtop also featured outriggers, controllable from below.
Cockpit side doors port and starboard allow anglers to boat a big fish, and in-floor boxes — 150 gallons each — boast freezer plates to chill fish without carrying weighty ice. The coup de grâce, for me, was the standard Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, ensuring a stable deck to keep any outing pleasurable.

The Friendship Yacht Company remains true to its mission to build innovative designs to the highest quality and value with the introduction of the Friendship 65 sloop.
The hull configuration of The Friendship 65 represents an evolution of the highly successful keel / centerboard hull forms refined by Ted Fontaine. The 65 is similar to the Friendship 53 and 75 in that this design has ample beam which optimizes the form stability. When combined with the flared bulb keel, the design is capable of carrying a tall and powerful sail plan and thereby maximizing sailing performance. The forward underwater sections of the 65 incorporate a slightly V-shaped section to provide a smooth entry in difficult seas. This hull shape is also proven to provide additional lift which is further enhanced by the deep retracting centerboard making the 65 a proven sailing machine.
The 65’s low wetted surface hull form minimizes drag while at the same time providing substantial interior volume, enabling fast yet comfortable passages with proven sea kindly motion. Another benefit is the Friendship 65’s shallow draft keel / centerboard design and her ability to access shallow water anchorages that most yachts of her size cannot.
The design of the Friendship 65 is unique in that the concept of the aft cockpit / pilothouse design is born from one particular customer’s request for complete protection and comfort for the anticipated long distance offshore passages expected of this design. Seaworthiness, sailing performance and comfort offshore were the dictating mandates when developing this yacht. The Friendship 65 is unique in that she possesses the interior accommodations normally found only on larger center cockpit designs.
The goal was to create a design that maintained the common elements of an aft cockpit yacht such as the low, secure aft cockpit that allows for a drier and more secure location for sailing than the traditional center cockpit designs. The cockpit is positioned aft of the fully enclosed pilothouse. The watertight and secure pilothouse enables full navigation and operating from inside with 360 degree unobstructed visibility. The pilothouse is both an extension of the sailing cockpit as it is an expansion of the interior arrangement. A beautifully crafted dining table featuring stained walnut inlay and soft upholstered settees provide a luxurious ambiance to this versatile yet functional arrangement.
Below decks, the spacious living accommodations are cleverly separated from the open pilothouse by the galley and lower salon. Rich, warm, satin finished raised panel mahogany joinery, complete with detailed bull nose fiddle edges throughout, provides a classic yet serene refuge from the elements above.
Aft and under the pilothouse are two staterooms port and starboard, each fit with two berths designated for crew or guests. The port side aft cabin is so commodious it could even be considered the master cabin, complete with ensuite facilities including private shower and large locker space. To starboard and forward of the crew cabin / work space there is a large galley, optimized as a full service area with ample storage and appliances featuring a sea kindly wrap-around counter, further enhancing the seaworthiness of the design as well as reinforcing the open and airy atmosphere down below.
By maintaining the open ceiling above the galley, the so-called “split level” pilothouse / salon area provides a great level of openness, bringing in light to the lower arrangement from the windshield above, a design element normally found on Fontaine’s much larger designs which feature complementary sight lines between the upper pilothouse and lower salon.
The below deck accommodation of the Friendship 65 was developed with several alternative arrangements in mind, the final layout to be customized to each owner’s specific needs, be it a centerline master cabin, symmetrical upper / lower guest cabins or a private VIP cabin with a smaller side cabin for paid crew, all of which can be built with private en suite facilities.
Having satisfied the owner’s interior desires, Fontaine Design Group put a priority on proper space for housing and servicing the 250 HP Lugger main engine, 16 kW Northern Lights generator, as well as all of the service pumps, hydraulic, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems. Included in the design is a dedicated full head room engine room/service area with a washer/dryer and convertible work bench. This large engine room provides easy access to all systems and is accessed through the crew cabin, cockpit hatches and guest cabin.
The sailing systems for the new 65 will emulate the same single handed performance as all of the previous Friendship designs: electric winches are all located within arm’s reach of the helmsman, bow thruster and mainsheet control buttons and genoa furling controls are at the feet of the helmsman providing easy hands free operation while underway. The tall carbon fiber mast is equipped with an in boom mainsail furling system, hydraulically operated to further enhance the simplicity and ease of shorthanded sailing. The composite-built 65 will be constructed of epoxy resin, with a complete internal structure reinforced with carbon fiber where needed and composite structural bulkheads all in compliance with the code of practice as outlined by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The systems are designed in accordance with the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards.

Bering 65 is a rugged and classical-looking steel yacht capable of any ocean crossing. She is quiet, solid, and leaves a graceful wake underway. Her displacement is over 224,800 lbs (102 mT). With 4,490 gallons (16,800 l) of fuel, you can cruise continuously for thousands of miles burning a combined 8 gallons (30 l) an hour at 8 knots.
Her interior is lavishly crafted with beautiful woodwork and a variety of counter, flooring, and upholstery selections.
The saloon features built-in seating on both sides with a large dinette to starboard. An entertainment center forward of the settees has a large flat-screen TV surrounded by hand-finished woods of your choosing. Large double aft doors can be opened when maximum ventilation is desired or when entertaining large groups. A staircase forward leads to the lower staterooms.
The full-width galley is just aft of the pilothouse steering room but on the same level. Refrigeration units and in-wall oven(s) are located off to the port side, along with drawer storage and an optional wine chiller. To the starboard side, you have a cooking surface, trash compactor, sink, dishwasher, and dry storage. This galley is bright and airy, thanks in part to the open bulkhead and its location above the saloon’s elevation.
Forward of the galley, the pilothouse is the command where most of the ship’s controls and displays are collected. From here, you can monitor all critical systems such as tank levels, engine metrics, and battery banks. This lower helm station is perfect for steering in inclement weather conditions. Wing doors lead to both port and starboard side decks. Extensive window placement on three sides provides complete forward and adjacent viewing of your surroundings. An L-shaped settee located aft of the helm chair is perfect for hanging out with the captain while underway and offers an alternative place to lounge and read if you wish some separation from the saloon.
The master stateroom can be located forward as a v-berth of aft, or as an amidships stateroom. Bering 65 is set up as a three-stateroom layout in its standard configuration, with each stateroom having its own bathroom.
The engine room houses the twin diesel engines in addition to many of the ship’s machinery components. Bering Yachts places great emphasis on minimizing noise and vibration coming from this space. The entire engine room is surrounded by acoustic paneling and heavy bulkhead insulation. The engine room’s aft is utility/storage space, perfect for such things as fenders, water-maker, dive compressor, and tool storage.
Access to the swim platform is available through either of the outboard stairwells in the cockpit. The aft platform is located just above the waterline to allow for easy access to your tender or water toys. Throughout the deck spaces, you will find intelligent and thoughtful touches such as the numerous mooring cleats, freeing ports to quickly clear the decks of green water, and ergonomic handrails for maximum security.
The covered cockpit provides additional outdoor living space regardless of weather conditions, be it intense tropical sun or a rainy day at anchor. The cockpit settee and table are perfect for outdoor dining, visiting, or just comfortably lounging. Covered side decks and tall bulwarks provide a very secure walkway to the Portuguese bridge and foredeck. Large storage lockers inside the Portuguese bridge are perfect for storing docklines, hoses, and equipment. Molded-in seating on the foredeck puts you out in front with a view second to none!
Bering 65’s covered flybridge helm station and seating area provide exceptional views whether underway or at anchor. With generously sized settees and the option to have any combination of refrigeration, outdoor grilling, stainless sink, etc., you can entertain guests with ease. The aft boat deck can easily accommodate a 4.2 meter tender, effortlessly launched and recovered with a hydraulic crane. The boat deck stairwell connects the covered cockpit, which means you don’t have to move through the interior spaces when you wish to head up to the upper deck after swimming or diving.

The Jeanneau Yachts 65 offers sumptuous interior living spaces, with an owner's cabin bathed in light, located forward or aft. Multiple configurations, equipment and other options enable you to create a nearly custom sailboat. Exterior spaces follow the same principal. You can opt for a clean, pared-down line, or decide to equip the exterior cockpit with an arch, enabling you to install a spray hood and Bimini. For the first time, the exterior windows are in Lexan, a durable material which is transparent like glass.
A vast sundeck in the cockpit enables you to take advantage of a moment at anchor for relaxation, while a generous aft swim platform, deployed by electric control, provides access to the sea and to the tender garage. The Jeanneau Yachts 65 subtly balances well-being and security, comfort and performance, elegance and power. Despite its size of 65 feet, it remains easy to handle at port and at sea. The pleasures of life on the water can be savoured as a couple, as a family, or with a larger group.
