Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Nick Kenyon

If you’re a billionaire and you don’t own a superyacht, there’s a reasonable case to be made that you’re not enjoying your money as much as you could be. Fortunately, there’s virtually zero doubt that Lawrence Stroll is enjoying his wealth to its absolute fullest, as the owner of the Faith superyacht that was recently spotted by Boss Hunting’s very own James Want at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.

As the National Post noticed, this year’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix had a noticeably smaller contingent of superyacht owners, thanks mostly to the international sanctions on Russia’s wealthiest citizens that have seen billions of dollars of assets seized by various governments around the world. This meant Lawrence Stroll’s Faith was one of the largest superyachts in town on race day, with a length of nearly 97m and enough space for a dozen of Stroll’s nearest and dearest.

As you’d expect from a vessel worth an estimated US$200 million (AU$281,792,000), Faith offers a large lounge area complete with a toasty fireplace, private movie theatre, gym, 9-meter swimming pool, spa and plunge pool, as well as several bar areas to enjoy a spritz in the sun. If that sounded a little too pedestrian for your taste, the superyacht also has a Flyboard (you know, the waterjet powered hoverboard), several jet skis, kayaks, wakeboards and even a couple of water slides.

While the Faith is owned by Stroll, it’s also available for private charter via Yacht Charter Fleet. For a week on the Faith, you can expect to pay approximately US$1,395,500 (AU$1,965,963), with summer season hotspots including the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, French Riviera, and Sardinia, while popular winter season anchor drops are around the Caribbean.

Motor Yacht

Feadship Faith (ex. Vertigo) saw the light of day on Wednesday 23 November, which is when this 96.55-metre masterpiece left the construction hall at the Feadship yard in Makkum (NL).

With the outstanding interior and exterior design by Redman Whiteley Dixon and Chahan Interior Design and Azure acting as Owner’s project manager, Faith’s creative execution raises the bar of superyacht design to new levels of sophistication.

The elegant curves of Faith's streamlined profile are in perfect proportion and harmony. The same applies to the characteristically Feadship lines of Faith's flared bow, which features a games deck and helicopter landing pad with a hangar below for a Bell 429 WLG helicopter.

The sweeping hull line leads down and aft towards the main deck aft, home to a revolutionary swimming pool made of glass panels that also form the ceiling of the beach club below. Creating this 68-millimetre-thick construction involved laminating together five layers of clear glass interspersed with foil. To make matters even more complex, the deep end of the 42,000-litre pool has a dramatic S-curved shape and descends to some 2.5 metres. A drop-down cap rail allows an open view to the sea from inside the pool and a curtain of water to flow into the forward section of the pool and fashion a natural divide between this exterior area and the interior.

10 of the most impressive superyachts owned by billionaires

From a sailing yacht owned by a russian billionaire industrialist to the luxury launch of the patek philippe ceo, here are the best billionaire-owned boats on the water….

Words: Jonathan Wells

There’s something about billionaires and big boats . Whether they’re superyachts or megayachts, men with money love to splash out on these sizeable sea-going giants. And that all began in 1954 — with the big dreams of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.

Onassis, keen to keep his luxury lifestyle afloat when at sea, bought Canadian anti-submarine frigate HMCS Stormont after World War II. He spent millions turning it into an opulent super yacht, named it after his daughter — and the Christina O kicked off a trend among tycoons. To this day, the world’s richest men remain locked in an arms race to build the biggest, fastest, most impressive superyacht of all. Here are 10 of our favourites…

The amenities that come with these vessels vary greatly from owner to owner, but they almost always include luxurious swimming pools, helicopter pads, on-board cinemas, and spas.

Some owners opt for more extravagant features, such as submarines, personal submarines, and even their own personal submarines! Other owners prefer to keep their vessels out of the public eye, but for those who prefer a more showy approach, they can certainly make a statement with a superyacht.

No matter who owns the vessel, it’s no surprise that these superyachts are a status symbol among the world’s wealthiest.

Whether you’re trying to impress your peers or just looking to enjoy a luxurious outing, owning a superyacht is the ultimate way to show off your wealth.

What Amenities are Included on Superyachts?

Owning a superyacht is a sign of wealth and prestige, and many of the worlds most prominent billionaires have their own vessels.

The most expensive superyacht in the world is owned by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, while other notable owners include Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The cost of a superyacht can range from $30 million to over $400 million, but the price tag doesnt quite capture the sheer extravagance and amenities of these vessels.

Superyachts come with all the comforts of home, and then some.

Many owners will equip their vessels with swimming pools, helicopter pads, on-board cinemas, spas, and other luxury amenities.

The interior of a superyacht can be custom-designed to the owners specifications.

Some owners opt for modern, sleek designs, while others prefer a more traditional look.

Many of the most luxurious yachts feature marble floors, walk-in closets, and custom-made furniture.

Some vessels even come with a full-service gym, complete with exercise equipment and trained professionals.

Other amenities may include a library, casino, media room, and private bar.

When it comes to outdoor amenities, superyachts have some of the most impressive features in the world.

Many yachts come with outdoor entertainment areas, complete with full kitchens, dining rooms, and lounge areas.

Some owners even opt for hot tubs or jacuzzis for relaxing afternoons in the sun.

And, of course, there are the jet skis, water slides, and other exciting water activities that come with many of these vessels.

No matter what amenities a superyacht has, it is sure to be an experience like no other.

From the sleek interiors to the luxurious outdoor features, these vessels provide a unique, luxurious experience that is unrivaled on land.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing escape or an exciting adventure, a superyacht is sure to provide.

How Much Do Superyachts Cost?

who owns faith superyacht

When it comes to superyachts, the sky is the limit when it comes to cost.

These luxury vessels come with hefty price tags that can range from anywhere between $30 million to over $400 million.

So, if youre in the market for a superyacht, youre looking at an investment that could easily break the bank.

The cost of a superyacht is driven by a variety of factors, including size, amenities, and customization.

Generally, the larger the yacht, the more expensive it will be.

Superyachts typically range in size from 100 feet to over 200 feet, and they can be as wide as 40 feet.

The bigger the yacht, the more luxurious features and amenities it will have.

Amenities also play a significant role in the cost of a superyacht.

While some owners prefer to keep their yachts out of the public eye, others have made headlines with their extensive amenities.

From swimming pools and helicopter pads to on-board cinemas and spas, the sky is the limit when it comes to customizing a superyacht.

The more amenities a superyacht has, the more expensive it will be.

Finally, customization is another major factor that will drive up the cost of a superyacht.

Many luxury vessels have custom-designed interiors that are tailored to the owners tastes.

From custom furniture and artwork to lighting and audio systems, the cost of a superyacht can quickly escalate depending on the level of customization.

In short, the cost of a superyacht can vary widely depending on its size, amenities, and customization.

While some may be able to get away with spending a few million dollars, others may end up spending hundreds of millions of dollars on their dream yacht.

No matter what your budget is, its important to do your research and find out exactly what youre getting for your money before signing on the dotted line.

Keeping Superyachts Out of the Public Eye

When it comes to owning a superyacht, some owners prefer to keep their vessels out of the public eye.

Understandably, these individuals are concerned with privacy and discretion, and therefore tend to take measures to ensure their yachts are not visible to outsiders.

For instance, some superyacht owners opt to keep their vessels in private marinas, away from the public areas of larger ports.

Additionally, some yacht owners may choose to hire security guards to patrol and protect their vessels while they are moored or sailing.

In addition to physical security, some superyacht owners also use technology to keep their vessels out of the public eye.

For example, a yacht owner may choose to install a satellite-based communications system that allows them to keep their vessel completely off-radar.

This system works by bouncing signals off satellites rather than transmitting them, making it virtually impossible for anyone to track the yachts movements.

Finally, some superyacht owners also choose to limit the number of people who have access to their vessels.

For instance, the owner may only allow family members and close friends to board the yacht.

Additionally, the owner may choose to employ a limited number of staff to help maintain the vessel and keep it running smoothly.

These individuals may be required to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure they do not disclose any information about the yacht or its owner.

Overall, while some superyacht owners may choose to keep their vessels out of the public eye, there are still plenty of other ways to show off the opulence associated with owning a superyacht.

From swimming pools and helicopter pads to on-board cinemas and spas, there are many luxurious amenities that can make a superyacht the envy of any jet setter.

Final Thoughts

Superyachts are a symbol of luxury and status, and the list of yacht owners reads like a who’s who of billionaires.

From the Emir of Qatar’s world-record breaking $400 million yacht to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s vessel with a helicopter pad and on-board spa, the amenities of these luxury vessels are truly stunning.

With prices ranging from $30 million to over $400 million, owning a superyacht is an expensive endeavor.

Whether you’re looking to purchase one or just curious to learn more about the owners and their amenities, this guide will provide you with all the information you need to stay up to date with the superyacht scene.

Meet the team aboard FAITH.

Published 07 July 2022

FAITH is iconic. A yacht designed and run with zero-compromise, she was built by a discerning owner and has been honed over five years of private operation and now provides the ultimate charter platform for you and your guests. Meet the people who make it all happen aboard this stellar yacht from building snowmen in the Caribbean to baking an Amalfi lemon tart…

On the bridge with... Captain Luke and Captain Nick

When you charter FAITH you are in the safe hands of Captain Nick and Captain Luke. Both have years of seafaring experience under their collective belts, and an intimate knowledge of FAITH and her cruising grounds.

'I was that child who spent his days walking up and down the dock, ' says Captain Nick. 'I went straight to sea after finishing my studies and never looked back. In the 20 years since then, I have circumnavigated the globe and chartered in almost every destination possible.'

Captain Luke, 'I'm Australian Master Mariner with 27 years in the game (time flies when you’re having fun)! For the past 19 years I have worked on charter and private yachts. Every day is an adventure - you never know what lies just around the next headland...'

Now you can discover what is around the next headland when you charter FAITH in the  Mediterranean this summer, and the  Caribbean and  Bahamas next winter.

What sets FAITH apart from other yachts?

FAITH is an icon of her generation and one of the most recognisable yachts in the world. There is no compromise in what FAITH offers - which is the comment we hear most frequently from our guests.

A beach club, that is also a lounge and party bar? Have it all on FAITH

I’d add that, without doubt, a truly unique experience onboard FAITH is the snow room. Where else can you build and dress a 4ft snowman during winter in the Caribbean when it’s 35 degrees outside! Not only is it loads of fun for everyone, the health benefits are also amazing.

The amazing snow room - the health benefits are worth the chill

Tell us about the FAITH crew…

The crew have a level of energy and cohesion which is immediately felt by our guests. We have a reputation for providing guests with their best ever yachting experience and I put a large part of that down to the crew’s passion and desire to exceed expectations.

What do guests' enjoy about FAITH?

Like most things in life, balance is the key and our guests have that on FAITH. It may be that one day they’re feeling adventurous with watersports, and the next day wish to focus on self-care in our wellness centre.

A formal dinner one evening can contrast with a more casual ‘make your own pizza’ experience on the sun deck the following night. Being flexible while still maintaining the highest level of service imaginable is the FAITH standard.

Guests love FAITH's glass-bottom pool

Where is FAITH going to be cruising next winter?

The Exumas (one of my favourite places to cruise) is an absolute must on anyone’s bucket list who want to enjoy a very special natural marine experience - while also enjoying all the comforts FAITH has to offer!

Whether it be diving with the nurse sharks at Compass Quay, swimming with the pigs at Big Major Cay, taking a jetski across the sand flats at Shroud Cay or the most picturesque and private beach BBQ you could ever hope to imagine, there’s something for everyone.

The Bahamas is a well-known itinerary on board FAITH

In the galley with... Head Chef Henrik and Chef Alan

Whether you are in the mood for a full seven-course tasting menu with accompanying wines, or a simple margarita pizza with fresh mozarella and basil, aboard FAITH you have it - thanks to the skills of two gifted chefs, Henrik and Alan. FAITH is equipped with a wood fired pizza oven, charcoal BBQ and bar on the sun deck, wine cellar and a full beach BBQ set-up, so you only need to ask for it to happen.

Head Chef Henrik first entered the superyacht world after he was headhunted... 'About 10 years ago I was invited to work on a superyacht, and I have loved this life ever since. I honed my skills in restaurants in France and Italy - then I hopped the Atlantic to work the US.'

Chef Alan started his career as a young chef in London's Savoy Hotel. 'Then I progressed down the path of Michelin-starred restaurants. This is where I really learned how to cook, working with very talented chefs from all over the globe.'

How does it feel to be a chef on the most beautiful yacht on the charter market?

Happy and proud. The team on board are fantastic and hard-working - which means everything.

Working ashore vs a superyacht chef?

To work on yachts can be different and challenging. That mixed together with the passion to manage and provide anything and everything for our guests, wherever we are in the world, is incredible and rewarding.

I have always had a passion for travel, I enjoy exploring different cultures and discovering their cuisine, so yachting is the perfect fit. As an executive chef I get to work with and meet some amazing people and cook with such diversity.

Henrick and Alan bring Michelin-star dining to FAITH

What do you love to cook?

When our guests arrive on board its show time! Time to show off our skills as chefs - dishes such as our citrus cured Ora king salmon with avocado puree and Beluga royal caviar is always a favourite.

Equally I love nothing more than pizza night on sun deck where we have our wood fired pizza oven for authentic Italian style pizza at its best.

Enjoy pizza from a wood-fired oven on board FAITH

How would you describe your style of cuisine?

Fresh, clean, tasty and vibrant. Food that makes you feel good. We love to cook all varieties of different cuisines to keep things interesting - and to keep learning!

Do you have a favourite dish that is always a winner?

Ah wow, that’s a difficult one. Off the top of my head, spaghetti vongole. Cakes for birthdays and celebrations are always popular too.

Show-stopper delights for a birthday, or just with friends

Where do you go shopping?

We use some of the world’s finest provisioners, where quality is paramount. We also like to use local artisan suppliers, whether that’s an amazing fishmonger who has the freshest line-caught seabass, or stunning fruit and vegetables from the market - there’s nothing better than making a lemon tart with lemons straight from the coast of Amalfi.

Do guests sometimes join you in the galley?

Our guests are always welcome to come into the galley, there’s nothing better than guest interaction. I am more than happy to pass on some of our skills, that could be a little cookery demonstration or more hands on for the guests to do a little cooking themselves - anything is possible.

Available in the Mediterranean this summer, and in the Caribbean this winter, the immaculate 96.6m (316.8ft)   FAITH  welcomes 12 guests in seven cabins. Please enquire for rates.

The 73-year-old made a fortune in oil and gas before transforming it into a sports empire that includes the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. The father of famous professional tennis player Jessica Pegula saw many highs, but the one we like most is the $75 million Royal Hakvoort vessel named after the owner’s five kids. Who owns the world’s biggest yacht?

What Makes a Superyacht “Super”?. A superyacht is typically defined as a privately-owned luxury vessel measuring over 24 meters (79 feet) in length. However, the largest superyachts are often much longer, surpassing 100 meters (328 feet). These yachts are custom-built to cater to the unique tastes and requirements of their owners, boasting state-of-the-art technology, unparalleled craftsmanship, and breathtaking designs. Amenities may include swimming pools, helipads, movie theaters, gyms, spas, and even submarines.

Top Superyacht Builders. Building a superyacht is no easy feat, and only a handful of shipyards possess the expertise and resources to construct these floating mansions. Renowned shipyards such as Lürssen, Feadship, Blohm+Voss, and Benetti are among the most prestigious builders in the industry, responsible for creating some of the world’s largest and most luxurious superyachts.

The Billionaire Owners. Owning a superyacht is a symbol of status and wealth, reserved for the world’s richest billionaires and members of royal families. Many of these yacht owners have amassed their fortunes through various industries, including technology, finance, and natural resources. Russian oligarchs, Middle Eastern royalty, and American entrepreneurs are among the most prominent superyacht owners, often using their vessels for leisure, entertaining guests, and conducting business.

Environmental Impact and Sustainability. As the demand for larger and more extravagant superyachts grows, so too does the concern for their environmental impact. Superyacht owners and builders are becoming increasingly aware of the need for eco-friendly designs and technologies. Hybrid propulsion systems, solar panels, and advanced waste management systems are being incorporated into new yacht designs to minimize their carbon footprint and preserve the marine environment.

The Future of Superyachts. The superyacht industry is continually evolving as new technologies emerge and owners seek more innovative and luxurious features. The future of superyachts is expected to see a greater focus on sustainability, smarter onboard systems, and enhanced connectivity. Furthermore, the race to build even larger and more impressive superyachts is likely to continue, pushing the boundaries of naval architecture and engineering.

In conclusion, the world of the largest superyachts showcases the epitome of luxury, design, and technology. These magnificent vessels embody the dreams and ambitions of their owners, offering a unique insight into the lives of the ultra-wealthy. As technology and environmental awareness advance, the superyacht industry will continue to adapt and innovate, ensuring that these floating palaces remain symbols of opulence and engineering prowess.

The largest yachts measured by length. In general, the size of a large yacht is measured by its length. But a more accurate factor is the displacement and/or the volume of a yacht.

Biggest Yacht. Theyacht Dilbaris currently considered to be thebiggest private yacht in the world. With a length of 157 meters (512ft) the mega yacht is number #4 on the ‘list by length’. But with a displacement tonnage of 15.917 gross tons, she is actually the largest yacht in the world.

Who owns the largest yacht in the world?. Russian billionaireAlisher Usmanovowns the biggest yacht in the world:Dilbar!.

A New Top One position?. Soon Dilbar will leave her #1 position as two larger projects are currently under construction. Kjell Inge Rokke‘s big yacht REV OCEAN will be delivered somewhere in the next few years (there seem to be some technical issues with the project though).. And in Germany, a very big yacht (project Blue) was delivered in early 2022 for Sheikh Mansour al Nahyan. She is 160 meters long.

Only Billionaire Owners. Onlythe world’s richestbillionaires are able to purchase and maintain these big private yachts. Read our list ofthe World’s Richest Yacht Owners.

Royal Families. Most of theseyachtsare owned by Royal Families. Such as the Al Nahyan family, rulers of Abu Dhabi, who own four of the world’s largest mega yachts. And the Sultan of Oman, who owns two.

Also, Russian billionaires own large yachts. Dilbar for example is owned by Alisher Usmanov.

What is the Displacement of a yacht?. The displacement is the weight of water that a ship displaces when it is floating. Which in turn is the weight of a ship (and its contents). The displacement is measured in tons.

What yacht does Jeff Bezos own?

Cliché but true, the second-richest man on the planet, according to Forbes, owns the tallest sailing yacht in the world. In fact, the 417-foot Koru is so big, it has its own 250-foot support vessel.

Priced at $500 million, the Koru hit the sea for the first time in 2023 and has since ferried Jeff Bezos and company around the globe. Complete with three massive 229-foot masts, it can reach a top speed under sail of 20 knots, according to the New York Post — which is approximately 23 miles per hour.

Made for a group, up to 18 guests can set sail on the yacht, allowing Bezos to bring family and friends on vacation with him. Here’s a look at the Koru’s extravagant features and how much it costs to operate his floating mansion.

Who owns the most expensive superyacht in the world?

The 5 Most Expensive Superyachts In The WorldHistory Supreme ($4.8 billion) History Supreme, owned by Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, is the epitome of excess. … Azzam ($600 million) Azzam, measuring a staggering 590 feet, is currently the largest private yacht in the world. … Topaz ($527 million) … Dubai ($400 million)

When it comes to owning superyachts, the price tag is only the beginning of the story. They are among the most costly assets to maintain. The Altoo Wealth Platform can help you keep clear track of all the various expenses associated with them and any other lifestyle asset.

History Supreme ($4.8 billion). History Supreme, owned by Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, is the epitome of excess. At only 100 feet long, History Supreme is significantly smaller than the other yachts on this list.

But what makes it valuable are the fancy touches, like the figure made from real Tyrannosaurus rex bones, the liquor bottle with an 18.5-carat diamond inside it, and the main bedroom walls made from meteorite and a 24-carat gold Aquavista Panoramic Wall Aquarium. There are many questions about the yacht’s presence, and some people even doubt that it exists. However, the insanely high price tag makes it worth talking about.

Does Mark Zuckerberg have a yacht?

Mark Zuckerberg’s new yacht, Launchpad, is enjoying its summer debut. The megayacht recently stopped in Mallorca and has since ventured further into the Mediterranean. It looks like Zuckerberg may dethrone Jeff Bezos as king of this year’s superyacht season.

While the Amazon founder made waves last year with the debut of his megayacht Koru, Zuckerberg is the name on the yacht world’s lips this season.

By May, the transaction seemed all but confirmed when both the yacht and Zuckerberg made their way to Panama to celebrate his 40th birthday with a fete that included a few spins on his infamous hydrofoil.

Now that summer is here, Zuckerberg has debuted Launchpad —and her support superyacht Wingman — on the biggest stage in the yachting world: the Mediterranean.
