• Jay-Z explained the meaning behind the song in a video preview of the album. "It sounds like a celebration of where we are now on some big yacht, throwing champagne in the water," he told Rick Rubin. "But the undertow of the thing is that this is the same water that brought us here originally as slaves, so it has this whole duality and even how we re-write history, the stories we were told about the history of America."

• Kanye West wanted this and " Magna Carta…Holy Grail 's title track " to be part of his and Jay-Z's joint album Watch The Throne . "[There were] no lyrics on 'Holy Grail' and I recorded 'Oceans' and I played those records for Kanye," Jay explained in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe. "And he was like, 'No those have to go on Watch The Throne , so we spent four days arguing about those records and I was explaining to him why it wasn't right for this project and I had a whole idea for making this album called Magna Carta... the Holy Grail [part of] the name came after." Jay added that the argument never really turned nasty, describing it as "four days, four days literally arguing... not like fighting. Well, there was some pushing at one point but not between us, just everyone else got a little excited."

Last week we showed off one hip-hop music video mainstay, the '64 Impala. Now, we're looking into boats. They've been all over rapper's videos, from Biz Markie in the '80s to Macklemore this year. And why not? Standing on top of a boat and rapping directly into the camera screams, "I'm a big deal," or in the words of The Lonely Island, "If you're on the shore, then you're sho' not me." Add bonus points if it's topped with a mass of big bootied females with little bikinis. Ignore the fact that most of these rappers don't actually own the vessels. Ain't nobody got time to actually put a boat in water. When Chainz says he's ridin' 30s, he's talking about 30-foot floaters.

Is that Deebo from "Friday" in the beginning of the video? Good luck getting past him and into Master P's party. Make 'em say ough!

Biz Markie "The Vapors"

Girls used to front on Biz and his crew before they made it. When the Juice Crew starting rapping on boats, the same honeys began to come around and get "the vapors."

The classic song and one of the highlights from Step Brothers. Also, highly offensive. We're still waiting on Prestige Worldwide's next video.

Notorious B.I.G. "Hypnotize"

It's hard to watch anything other than Puff acting a fool beside Biggie. This is what Suge Knight was talking about at the '95 Source Awards .

Jay-Z "Big Pimpin'"

Jay-Z didn't always have great style. It's hard to look bad on a yacht, but that bucket hat certainly isn't helping. Is he more embarrassed about that or the crass lyrics, which he admitted were harsh in a Wall Street Journal interview.

The Lonely Island "I'm On a Boat"

The Lonely Island made fun of the nautical dick-swinging in rap videos by doing the only thing more obnoxious: yelling about it. Because just showing off the boat was much subtler.

Quite simply, Hov is trying to gauge how well his fans and music critics understand what he has put forth in his career. He's making his case for consideration as the greatest rapper of our age, asking for an encore from us, the audience -- trying to make us realize how we will miss him, but how there are those following in his stead (Kanye West, etc) that we should send our attention to.

It's heartbreaking to see Mr. H to the Izzo leave the game! I sure as hell wish I was at Madison Square that historic night!

• Beyonce spent her birthday vacationing on a high-end ship in Croatia with Jay-Z and their three kids, the Daily Mail and Total Croatia News reported earlier this week. 
• Imperial , a luxury yacht broker, is chartering the new superyacht called Lana, which can hold up to 12 guests and 31 crew members and will be available for private reservations, starting in the spring. 
• More than 300 feet long, the vessel comes with a spa and a beach club and costs more than $2 million a week to vacation on.
• It typically costs around $150,000 a week to charter a luxurious superyacht for a week, per CNBC .

Beyonce and Jay-Z are exploring European waters with their family aboard a new superyacht, according to multiple reports in TMZ, Daily Mail, and Total Croatia News.

It's the largest and most expensive yacht the couple has ever chartered,  Forbes reported  based on information from  superyachtfan.com

Lana, the Benetti-built yacht, is more than 300 feet long.

While there are no official criteria to categorize a yacht as a superyacht, Bill Springer, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Ocean Home, wrote for Forbes that "all superyachts are opulent enough to be equipped with an object that represents the epitome of luxury."

This particular superyacht, known as Lana, will be available for charter for about $2 million a week beginning in the spring.

This is more than the cost of a typical week-long superyacht rental, which can come to about $150,000, per CNBC. Kismet, the 312-foot superyacht that Beyonce and Jay-Z traveled on in 2018, costs about $1.3 million per week.

It features amenities like a gym, a spa, and a helicopter landing pad.

Clusters of couches and chairs are spread out on Lana's decks for groups to hang out.

The sun deck comes with a heated pool that's about nine yards long.

The same deck has a dining room that seats about 12 people.

Sculptures that decorate the yacht's interior mimic the flow of the ocean, according to the company website.

Lana holds 12 total guests per trip who can stay in one of the eight suites aboard the ship.

Seven of them are referred to as VIP guest rooms, and each room has its own color scheme.

The eighth room is a master suite.

This is the ship's beach club, which is an entertainment area with a waterfront.

Lana also features a cinema room with a movie screen and a sound system.

The spa includes multiple treatment spaces like a steam room and massage area.

Lana is a motor yacht and can cruise at 16 knots with a maximum speed of 18.5 knots.

Beyoncé stole the show at former personal assistant Sam Greenberg’s wedding while attending the celebration with her husband, Jay-Z, and their eldest daughter, Blue Ivy.

The “Texas Hold ’Em” singer, 43, was spotted grooving to her own song on the dance floor at the reception, which was held in Nantucket, Mass., over the weekend.

Beyoncé and the bride, who stunned in a white lace strapless gown, danced along to the pop star’s 2011 hit, “Love On Top,” as attendees clapped and filmed videos of the special moment.

The “Dream Girls” actress wore a Farm Rio peony-print blouse ($145) and a matching fringe skirt ($240) with sunglasses, keeping her long curls down, as seen in a photo shared on X .

Meanwhile, the “Big Pimpin’” rapper, 54, looked cool in a tan suit layered over a white tee. He kept his accessories simple with sunglasses and a small gold pendant on a chain.

Their 12-year-old daughter, for her part, looked sophisticated in a short red dress and black sunglasses.

The couple were spotted kicking back on a yacht off the coast of Italy between after wrapping the European leg of their global tour with a performance in Nice, France. They return to the States for a show in Cleveland on Wednesday.

For their boat trip along the picturesque Amalfi Coast — a celeb-favorite summer vacation destination — Beyoncé wore a black bikini, sheer coverup and a straw hat, while JAY-Z went for a bright turquoise pair of swim trunks, white tee, and a blue bandana.

Their 6-year-old daughter Blue Ivy , and twins Rumi and Sir , 13 months, are also on tour with their parents, but were not seen in the topside snaps.

The family has been making time for mini getaways throughout the summer as they tour around Europe.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, shared a video on Instagram last week showing the couple as well as friends including U2’s Bono enjoying a lively dinner in Nice, and dancing to a live band performing a cover of “Brown Eyed Girl.”

Over the Fourth of July, Bey, Jay, and Blue Ivy posed for casual snaps of their down time between concerts in Warsaw, Poland and Cologne, Germany. Their smiling portraits were shared to Beyoncé’s Instagram , in a gallery that also included a shot that suggested the family enjoyed a boat ride together.
