Sailing yacht RESILIENT 4 has been launched by Nautor Swan , the Finnish yacht builder. Measuring 23.99m (78’) she is the ninth hull from the successful Swan 78 series and features exterior design and naval architecture by German Frers , who has long been a collaborator of the shipyard.

Her design is characterised by the Nautor Swan’s S concept, with a semi-raised salon and has a racing-oriented keel design, modern hull lines and a wide stern above the waterline. The sleek and streamlined profile offers panoramic views with increased volume to protect the cockpit and add more space below.

Luxury yacht RESILIENT 4 can accommodate up to eight guests in four staterooms with a private, forward owner’s suite. On deck, the cockpit lounge features two sofas – each with a table – which are protected by a full beam bimini and sprayhood. The roof doubles as a sunbathing area with additional space for sun worshippers and swimmers aft, where there is access to the beach area and a collection of cushions.

Performance comes from a single Steyr Motors engine, while her sails can consistently achieve double digit speeds and her twin helms allow safe and easy manoeuvring.

Wally Yachts for Sale

Established with a focus on designing and building some of the world’s most innovative and performance-driven luxury sailing and motor yachts, Wally represents a very different Italian superyacht style. Wally was founded in 1994 by Italian businessman Luca Bassani, a lifelong sailor who entered the custom yacht-building field in 1991 with the design of a yacht for his family. Luca Bassani is known as a passionate yachtsman and a visionary entrepreneur.

Wally initially specialized in sailboat design, however, over the years the company extended its reach and began to also design state-of-the-art motor yachts. Wally is recognized worldwide for its innovative design and advanced carbon fiber construction techniques. In terms of specializations, Wally’s innovative designs undergo a stringent process from drawing board to CAD review, to detailed construction.

In 1994 Luca launched his 104.9-foot (32m) Luca Brenta-designed WALLYGATOR. Since then, the company’s line has ranged from the Nano 36-foot (11m) daysailer and racer, to sailing and motor yachts up to 197-feet (60m) in length.

As a company, Wally is based in Monaco. Since 2019, when the Ferretti Group announced an exclusive license agreement with the shipyard, all Wally yachts have been constructed at Ferretti Group yards, mostly at their facility in Ancona.

Wally have changed the entire concept of cruising yachts and built an iconic brand both in the yachting industry and in the luxury market.

History of Wally Yachts

In 1994 Wally was founded by Luca Bassani, as a shipyard that specializes in sail boat design. Over the past two decades, the company has been a pioneer in carbon fiber construction, having also introduced numerous production innovations to the process.

Wally combines the latest technology with contemporary design and its products go through an intensive and unique research and development program. Every Wally is the result of a combination of form and function, which means that every technical solution is developed with consideration for the overall aesthetic beauty. Every detail and every fitting is carefully analyzed and designed to contribute to the overall Wally appeal.

In 2004 and then in 2008, Wally became the only yachting brand to be a two-time winner of the Compasso d’oro, arguably the world’s most important award for quality and design.

In January 2019, at the Boot Düsseldorf Boat Show, the Ferretti Group announced that they had entered into an exclusive license agreement with Wally, representing a significant step towards the group’s full acquisition of the brand. The agreement also heralded the start of a four-year period of investment in Wally from the Ferretti Group, including an €84 million fund to be used for brand development and the design and construction of new yacht ranges.

Wally are constantly looking for ways to improve on-the-water enjoyment through performance, comfort, and style.

The Wally collection

The Wally collection ranges from the Nano 36-foot (11m) daysailer and racer, to sailing and motor yachts up to 197-feet (60m) in length.

Among Wally’s many world-renowned projects is the 118 WallyPower, a sleek and futuristic looking motor boat, which featured in the film ‘The Island’. The first 118 WallyPower was built in Italy and launched in August 2003, named GALEOCERDO. The futuristic lines, reminiscent of a stealth bomber, have won many awards and this unusual, dynamic-looking boat still generates huge discussion, turning heads wherever she goes. GALEOCERDO was also showcased in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art architecture and design exhibition in 2004/05 – the only yacht to be featured.

In 2012, Wally launched the 166-foot (50.5m) sailing superyacht BETTER PLACE. At the time, the worlds’ largest sloop built from carbon fiber composite, she was designed by Tripp Design with an interior by Wetzels Brown Partners. BETTER PLACE was Wally’s first diesel-electric sailing yacht and is powered via a standard shaft and feathering prop. With all three Caterpillar C7 gensets in operation, the yacht runs at 14.5 knots through a Siemens electric engine.

Today, Wally offers custom-built sailing yachts from 80-foot (24m), a power boat line which includes production boats ranging from 52 to 80 feet (15 to 24m), the Wallyace line of displacement semi-custom yachts, custom displacement motor yachts over 148 feet (45m), the Wally Class division of performance-orientated high-power racing yachts, and three models of Wally tender.

The Wally Class racing division also stages four regattas in the Mediterranean, featuring a successful formula where owners at the helm are assisted by the world’s greatest sailing talents from America’s Cup, Olympic, and VOR teams.

The new 24m expedition sailing yacht nanuq is a design by the well-known studio dykstra naval architects ..

Usually, sailing yachts in sizes of 24m can be found in Spain, Monaco, Antibes, St. Tropez and all the other luxury yacht hotspots. NanuQ was developed for extreme regions with a lot of ice around the yacht – not in the cocktail glass. The expedition sailing yacht is the largest yacht by volume to date by KM Yachtbuilders . The longest is still the 26m TULIP . The client is an experienced sailor with ten years of sailing experience in cold regions.

The hull has some areas with a thickness of 40mm plus a 25mm ice reinforcement amidships to the bow. Keel and rudder can be retracted entirely to protect them from the ice when the yacht is frozen.

Two rotatable carbon masts without stays (wing rig) will power the 85.000 kg yacht through the seas.

Delivery is scheduled for the beginning of 2019. In the meantime, the owner plans a second journey through the Northwest Passage with a start in Alaska.

By the way, that KM Yachtbuilders builds strong yachts captured the owner of the Bestevaer 56 ST TRANQUILO who was jailed by ice .

Otam 58 GTS

A client who asked for “total freedom of expression” is responsible for this new version of Otam’s popular 58 with the Gran Turismo Sport suffix. Named Bad Boys , the 19.2 metre has been restyled by Giuseppe Bagnardi of BG Design Firm with a semi-open deckhouse and more aerodynamic profile. The latter will come in handy when Bad Boys hits 55 knots, thanks to its twin 1,825hp MTUs coupled to ASD14 Arneson surface drives. See her in Cannes in September. otam.it

A new Italian shipyard, Filoyacht, is getting ready to unveil what it’s all about. In July, it launched a stylish 22.6 metre, which it will display at the Cannes and Genoa shows this autumn. Highlights include a foredeck swimming pool, a tender lift aft and fold-down wings that expand the cockpit to almost eight metres wide. Below deck are three guest cabins and separate crew quarters. Two MTUs of 1,630hp each, equipped with Top System surface drives, give a top speed of 46 knots. filoyacht.com

Ferretti Yachts 580

The latest model in Ferretti’s flybridge collection shows how the prolific Italian builder continually improves upon its signature values: comfort, modern luxury and well-being. On the 17.7-metre 580, large expanses of glass and ceiling heights of at least two metres give a sense of spaciousness and wide sea views. The highly customisable model offers two layouts for the lower deck and two decor schemes: warm classic and fresh contemporary. Ocean Eco 60 Coupé

This forward-thinking catamaran from ALVA Yachts is available with fully electric drives and comes fuel-cell ready. The new 18.4-metre Coupé version has an expansive coachroof with 80 square metres of solar cells. Battery banks store power from these and the generators, and run two 250kW electric motors, which give a top speed of 20 knots. Named for its transatlantic ability, the catamaran has a 2,800-nautical-mile range. Libeccio 13.5 Cabin

A new version of Gozzi Mimì’s 13.5-metre flagship is its most spacious and liveable yet. The Naples shipyard has taken the classic planing gozzo and added heaps of comfort in its accommodation, which comprise three cabins – one double and two with twin berths – and two heads. Yanmar engines, each rated 370hp, give a top speed of 30 knots. The Genoa show in October will be the site of its world premiere. gozzimimi.it

It’s a delightful mix of old and new on Apreamare’s 14.7-metre flagship Gozzo, debuting in Cannes this autumn. The nostalgic design respects tradition, while comfort and performance are as modern as can be. The single-level deck has a walkaround path that encircles a sunbed, cockpit dining for 10 and bow seating, while a cabin below deck sleeps four to six. The variable deadrise deep-V hull accommodates a pair of 600hp Cummins diesels or 650hp Volvo Penta IPS drives, each allowing at least 30 knots of speed. apreamare.it

Nerea Yacht, which burst onto the yachting scene in early 2019 with the stylish NY24, is getting ready to reveal its next chapter at Cannes. Its 12-metre flagship exemplifies its “Made in Italy” ethos with an elegant design by ideaeITALIA that references automotive styling, finished in a superyacht-like herringbone teak and polished stainless steel. The highly customisable model allows prospective buyers to pick the layout, materials, finishes and engine room equipment, including a choice of inboards (gasoline or diesel) or outboards. This new Wally heralds the future, marking the start of a revamp of the entire range. It translates to pure lines and an enviable entertaining deck that’s open to the surroundings while protecting guests from the elements. Folding bulwarks add 25 square metres to the aft deck, and the lower deck, naturally lit from above, sleeps four for overnighting. There are a few firsts for Fairline in this new 17.7-metre model. Most notable is the builder’s foray into beach club living: the cockpit and aft platform transform into a lounge by the sea with fold-down balconies to port and starboard; there is flexible and modular cockpit seating, and a glass transom for views aft; and there’s also an innovative hi-lo platform that can both hold the tender and double in length for sun loungers. French yacht company Prestige is adding a sparkle to its brand with a newly inked partnership with Swarovski. Superyacht designers are very familiar with the Austrian brand’s custom lighting elements and speciality wall panels, seen on many of the world’s yachts. Now a limited-edition 21.5-metre Prestige 690 flybridge yacht incorporates subtle and elegant crystal elements in its interior. Custom bejewelled panels, which on larger walls such as in the owner’s cabin, alternate with grey grooved oak and mirrors, enhance guest spaces on both main and lower decks. CL Yachts will introduce the newest member of its CLB line at the Newport International Boat Show in September. As the smallest in the line, the 19.7-metre flybridge yacht has been designed for owner-operators, although buyers of the first two hulls opted for the optional crew quarters. Assumed knowledge: Theory to the level of Day Skipper. It is recommended you attend the Day Skipper shorebased course beforehand.
