Medgulets Assist assisted us in selecting the most suitable yacht for our 12-person group, and Mr. Can was effective in attending to intricate details to ensure our journey was exceptional. The captain and crew were exceptional, and the chef truly impressed us. We'd like to extend our thanks for their patience and understanding.

TURKEY GULET YACHT

A gulet is a classic wooden, motorized, and sailing boat that is perfect for long sea voyages and close-to-land cruises.

Traditional Turkish gulets are made-to-order boats that skilled artisans construct from wood. Because they provide a very comfortable cruising experience, gulets, often referred to as motor sailboats, are perfect for coastal excursions and lengthy sea cruises.

We are aware that the first gulet construction began in Turkey’s Bodrum region. However, production is also taking place in Bozburun, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Istanbul as a result of the expanding market and demand.

Types of Gulets

Gulet: The gulet is the most well-known traditional yacht design for Blue Cruise. The dining table and seating area are located at the back of the gulets.

There is typically a sofa and enough sun pillows out front for everyone. The entrance to the cabins is through this hall, which features a dining table according to the size of the gulet and an interior hall.

The yacht’s round stern causes the guest quarters to be in the front, while the aft side is typically used as the technical area. The ability to sail is marginally superior to that of Aynakic gulets.

The AFT parts of Aynakic gulets are not round, as they are in gulets, but rather are in a structure with raised corners, which is a key characteristic that sets them apart from ordinary gulets.

They typically use this space for the suite room, or what we would refer to as the “master cabin.” All other details are the same as for gulets, with the exception of this characteristic.

Tirhandil is the oldest local wooden boat type with a pointed stern and the best-suited wooden yacht for sailing. Today, the equipment has changed from sloop to lifeboat and from sail to sail; the majority of them are three-corner sails.

They do not construct them on particularly lengthy decks, often between 15 and 25 meters, like other kinds. The same standards apply to their cabins. If you like sailing, this is the best option.

Accommodation on Gulets

Traditional Turkish gulets have evolved in appearance over time. A modern gulet today resembles a high-end floating hotel and can be anywhere between 15 and 55 meters (50 and 180 feet) in length. Gulet length and passenger capacity are not inversely related.

A 20-meter gulet, for instance, might contain three guest cabins or six. The cabins must be smaller in order to accommodate additional cabins of the same size. But in general, taller gulets make up vessels with six or more multi-cabs.

Every cabin on gulets of different shapes and sizes was created with the needs of the passenger in mind, including a bed, wardrobe, separate shower, and toilet.

However, extra comfort amenities like sofa sets, dressers, work desks, and jacuzzis are also available, depending on the size of the rooms and the level of luxury of the boat. There are separate cabins for personnel in the guest cabins.

Gulet Passenger Safety

On gulets, the welfare of the passengers comes first. As a result, each gulet contains numerous fuel and clean water tanks. Additionally, it features a complete set of navigation and safety equipment, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, GSM phones, and VHF radios.

All of these safety precautions and modern technologies prevent any potential emergency and enhance your seaside vacation.

Types of Gulet Charters

Private yacht charter: When you charter a gulet, the entire vessel—along with its crew—is yours for the duration of the rental period. Within the parameters outlined in your rental agreement, you are free to take any route during the rental term.

And you are not restricted to any set timetable; you can plan your vacation however you like. You can purchase our ready-made menu packages and avoid sticking to a typically restricted menu, just as you can shop for your rations.

Renting a private gulet is the perfect choice if you want to spend a luxurious vacation at sea with your family or enjoy the sea and entertainment with close friends.

For a trip you won’t forget and wish to repeat, choose from traditional, classic, luxury, or ultra-luxury yacht charter options to suit your needs and experience.

Cabin rentals : On a shared tour, one or more cabins may be rented. The schedule for the route, lunch times, and meal components remain the same.

The purpose of in-cabin trips, which they typically arrange on classic gulets, is to experience the spirit and joy of the Blue Cruise rather than taking a vacation on a luxury yacht. Let’s say you can’t organize enough groups to rent a private gulet or you go over your budget.

Then, a cabin rental could provide you with a relaxing blue-tour vacation. Renting a cabin will help you make the most of your vacation by allowing you to cruise in style, widen your circle of friends, and meet new acquaintances on the boat.

LUXURY GULET YACHT CHARTER

Where else can you enjoy the peace and quiet of the Blue Sea, which has everything you need to make up for the weariness of the whole year? In the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean, where there are “Blue Weeks” that never end and warm seas, you can have a great vacation.

Bluetourturkey.com has helped people for a long time. Many of our guests come back every year to see more of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. Maybe you’d like to come back and try something new. Nature gives you a great temperature, a calm sea, a lot of history and culture, and delicious food.

During the day, you can walk between boats along the coast and stop in different bays. At night, you can stay in a very quiet bay where no one else is. You can drink something cold and watch the sun go down. Or, if you want, you can tie up your boat in a busy port and enjoy the holiday mood of the people there.

Places like the blue coast of Turkey, the Greek islands, and the eastern shores of the Adriatic, Croatia, and Montenegro are also options.

For tourists looking for the sun, Turkey is very famous. Regular regional flights to international airports in southwest Turkey have made this place very easy to get to. A lot of people also visit places like Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Gocek, and Antalya during the long summer months. Each of these places is an area that can be part of the boat rental program.

Local tour operators, especially those from other parts of Europe, have a strong interest in the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. The great thing about a gulet rental vacation is that you can visit some of these islands. Rhodes, Symi, and Kos all have ports that are close to the Turkish shore. These are great islands for people who want to see places in both areas. Between the Greek islands in the west and the many Greek islands in the north, you can mix and match a lot of different options.

Let’s say you have to choose between two routes that are very different. In that case, you can get more information about each area by getting in touch with us.

Gulet Features

Think about the aspects of a gulet that are most important to you, like the number of cabins, the design, and the amenities. While some gulets feature a more traditional appearance, others feature contemporary features.

Budget Considerations

The price of a luxury gulet charter can vary a lot based on its size, amenities, and level of service. Set a budget and choose a gulet that meets your needs without going overboard.

Booking Your Turkey Gulet Charter

It’s time to reserve your voyage after selecting the ideal gulet. Contact a gulet charter firm with a good reputation and a focus on high-end Turkish gulets.

They can assist you in finding the best deals, organizing your travel plans, and making sure all the details are covered.

Tips for a Memorable Gulet Cruise Experience

To ensure a tailored experience, let the crew know your preferences and expectations. Take part in new activities and gastronomic delights while embracing the local culture. Unplug from technology and take in your surroundings’ tranquility and natural beauty. Storage space on gulets can be scarce, so don’t overpack. The gentle caress of the Mediterranean breeze and the sun-drenched landscape paint a picture of pure bliss. This dream becomes a reality aboard a luxurious gulet , a traditional Turkish wooden sailing vessel, offering an unparalleled way to explore the wonders of Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan .

This in-depth guide, crafted by the expert team at Gulet Broker , your trusted partner in crafting unforgettable gulet cruise experiences, delves into everything you need to know about embarking on a Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise . We’ll equip you with the knowledge to plan your dream vacation, navigate the intricacies of gulet cruising, and discover the hidden gems that await you along this breathtaking route.

What is a Gulet Cruise?

Before we set sail, let’s set the stage for this unique adventure. Gulet cruises offer a distinct alternative to conventional cruise experiences. Gulets , traditionally crafted from wood, boast a timeless elegance and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Unlike massive cruise ships, gulets prioritize intimacy and personalized service. These vessels typically accommodate a smaller number of guests, ranging from cozy 10-passenger boats to larger options for up to 30 guests.

This intimate setting fosters a sense of camaraderie and allows you to truly connect with your fellow travelers and the breathtaking scenery. Gulet cruises are renowned for their flexibility, allowing you to tailor the itinerary to your preferences. Unlike the rigid schedules of large cruise ships, gulets offer the freedom to explore secluded coves, hidden beaches, and charming harbor towns at your own pace.

Why Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan?

The Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan route embodies the very essence of the Turkish Riviera. This captivating itinerary combines historical intrigue, breathtaking natural beauty, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Turkish culture.

Our journey begins in the vibrant town of Fethiye , a gateway to captivating historical sites, including the awe-inspiring rock-cut tombs of Amyntas and the captivating ruins of the ancient city of Telmessos . Fethiye also boasts a bustling harbor, a haven for traditional Turkish gulets, and offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, and cafes to explore.

Setting sail from Fethiye, we embark on a captivating journey towards Patara , a place steeped in history. Patara was once a major Lycian city, renowned for its grand harbor and its role as a significant trading center. Today, visitors can marvel at the impressive ruins of the Roman city , including the expansive amphhitheater , the well-preserved theater , and the remnants of the ancient baths . But Patara’s allure extends beyond its historical significance. The city is also home to one of the longest stretches of sandy beach in Turkey, a haven for sunbathers and nature enthusiasts. Patara Beach is also a designated nesting ground for the endangered loggerhead turtle , making it a place of immense ecological importance.

Our final stop on this enchanting voyage is the picturesque harbor town of Kalkan . Nestled amidst rolling hills overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea , Kalkan exudes a charm that will leave you spellbound. Cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses adorned with vibrant bougainvillea flowers create a picture-perfect setting. Kalkan offers a delightful selection of shops selling local crafts and souvenirs, and an array of restaurants serving up mouthwatering Turkish cuisine. Beyond the town itself, Kalkan provides a springboard for further exploration. A short journey takes you to the captivating Kaputaş Beach , a hidden cove accessible only by a scenic staircase. History buffs can delve deeper into the past by visiting the nearby ruins of the ancient city of Xanthos , a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This carefully curated itinerary ensures a voyage brimming with diversity, immersing you in the rich tapestry of the Turkish Riviera’s history, culture, and natural beauty.

Planning Your Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan Gulet Cruise: Setting Sail for Paradise

Now that you’ve been captivated by the allure of a Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise, it’s time to delve into the nitty-gritty of planning your unforgettable adventure. This section will equip you with the knowledge to navigate the essential aspects of your gulet cruise, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.

Choosing the Perfect Gulet: Your Home at Sea

The gulet you choose will be your haven on the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Selecting the right vessel is crucial to ensuring your comfort and enjoyment throughout the cruise. Here are some key factors to consider:

  • Size and Amenities:  Gulets come in a variety of sizes, catering to different preferences and group sizes. Smaller gulets (10-15 passengers) offer a more intimate experience, while larger vessels (20-30 passengers) provide more space and potentially more amenities. Consider the number of people in your travel group and your desired level of privacy when making your selection. Amenities can vary depending on the gulet, but commonly include spacious decks for sunbathing and relaxation, comfortable cabins with en-suite bathrooms, dining areas, and sometimes even Jacuzzis or watersports equipment.

Here’s a table to help you visualize the size options:

10-15 Passengers

Intimate setting, personalized service

Limited space, fewer amenities

16-20 Passengers

Good balance of space and intimacy, more amenities offered

Might feel slightly crowded compared to smaller gulets

20-30 Passengers

Most spacious option, potentially wider variety of amenities

Less intimate setting, potentially more crowded feel

  • Crewed Charters:  The most popular option for first-time gulet cruisers or those seeking a relaxing and hassle-free experience. Crewed charters include a captain and crew who handle all aspects of the cruise, from navigation and sailing to meal preparation and cleaning. This allows you to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
  • Bareboat Charters:  Ideal for experienced sailors who possess the necessary qualifications to operate a gulet. Bareboat charters offer greater control over the itinerary and allow you to truly captain your own adventure. However, this option requires extensive sailing experience and knowledge of Turkish maritime regulations.

Here’s a table to help you decide between crewed and bareboat charters:

Relaxing and hassle-free experience, experienced captain and crew handle all aspects of the cruise

Less control over the itinerary

Greater control over the itinerary, ideal for experienced sailors

Requires extensive sailing experience and knowledge of Turkish maritime regulations

  • Budget:  Gulet cruises cater to a variety of budgets. The cost will depend on the size and amenities of the gulet, the duration of your cruise, and the time of year you choose to travel. Gulet Broker offers a wide selection of gulets to suit your budget and preferences.  Contact our expert team  to discuss your requirements and receive personalized recommendations.

Here are some additional factors to consider when choosing your gulet:

  • Special Requests:  Do you have any specific needs or preferences, such as accessibility features or dietary restrictions? Communicate these requirements to Gulet Broker when making your inquiry to ensure a perfect match.
  • Reviews and Recommendations:  Reading reviews from past gulet cruisers can offer valuable insights and help you narrow down your choices. Gulet Broker can also provide you with recommendations based on your specific needs and preferences.

By carefully considering these factors, you’ll be well on your way to selecting the perfect gulet for your unforgettable Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise.

The Best Time to Cruise: Unveiling the Magic of the Seasons

The turquoise waters of the Turkish Riviera beckon year-round, but the ideal time to embark on your Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise depends on your preferences for weather, crowds, and potential activities. Here’s a breakdown of the seasons and what each has to offer:

Peak Season (June-August)

  • Weather:  Basking in glorious sunshine is pretty much guaranteed during peak season. Temperatures soar into the high 80s (°F), making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the outdoors. The crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean are at their most inviting, ideal for snorkeling, diving, and exploring hidden coves.
  • Crowds:  Peak season coincides with the busiest time for tourism in Turkey. Expect larger crowds at popular attractions and potentially higher prices for gulet charters. However, the lively atmosphere and abundance of activities can be a major draw for some travelers.
  • Events:  The peak season often coincides with various cultural festivals and events throughout Turkey. This can be a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and experience the vibrant energy of the region.

Shoulder Seasons (April-May & September-October)

  • Weather:  The shoulder seasons offer a delightful balance of warm weather and comfortable temperatures. Average highs hover in the mid to high 70s (°F), making it ideal for those who prefer to escape the scorching summer heat. The sea remains warm enough for swimming, while the cooler evenings provide a welcome respite.
  • Crowds:  The shoulder seasons offer a significant advantage of encountering smaller crowds compared to peak season. This translates to a more relaxed and intimate experience on board your gulet and at the various stops along the itinerary. Prices for gulet charters tend to be more reasonable during these periods as well.
  • Activities:  The shoulder seasons are still perfect for enjoying all the water-based activities the region offers. Additionally, the slightly cooler temperatures make exploring historical sites and venturing inland for excursions more comfortable.

Off-Season (November-March)

  • Weather:  The off-season experiences cooler temperatures and occasional rain showers. While swimming in the sea might not be ideal for everyone, the weather is still pleasant enough for sightseeing and exploring the region’s cultural treasures.
  • Crowds:  The off-season offers the ultimate escape from the crowds. You’ll practically have the entire coastline to yourselves, creating a truly unique and peaceful experience. Prices for gulet charters reach their lowest point during this time, making it a budget-friendly option.
  • Activities:  The off-season might not be ideal for extensive water activities, but it presents a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the region’s rich history and culture. Many historical sites and museums remain open year-round, offering a chance to explore them without the summer throngs.

Here’s a table summarizing the key considerations for each season:

Hot and sunny

Large

High

Many

Ideal for swimming, sunbathing, diving, cultural festivals

Warm and comfortable

Moderate

Moderate

Fewer

Perfect for swimming, sightseeing, exploring historical sites

Cooler, with occasional rain

Small

Low

Few

Ideal for sightseeing, historical exploration, budget-friendly travel

Ultimately, the best time to cruise depends on your individual preferences.  Do you crave the warmth and vibrancy of peak season, or do you prefer the serenity and affordability of the off-season?   Gulet Broker’s expert team  can help you determine the ideal time for your Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise based on your specific desires.

Packing Essentials: Conquering the Turquoise Waters with Confidence

A successful gulet cruise hinges not only on the perfect vessel and itinerary but also on being well-equipped for the adventure. Packing for a Fethiye, Patara, and Kalkan gulet cruise requires a balance between essentials for enjoying the stunning scenery and activities, and comfortable attire for relaxing on board. Here’s a comprehensive packing list to ensure you have everything you need for an unforgettable journey:

  • Swimwear:  Pack multiple swimsuits to accommodate for swimming throughout the day. Quick-drying options are ideal for convenience.
  • Cover-ups:  Light and airy cover-ups are essential for transitioning between swimming and relaxing on deck. Sarongs, sundresses, or light shirts and shorts are perfect choices.
  • Sun protection:  Pack a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses with UV protection, and a high-SPF sunscreen to shield yourself from the Mediterranean sun. Opt for reef-safe sunscreen to minimize environmental impact.
  • Comfortable clothing:  Pack comfortable and breathable clothing for lounging on deck, exploring ashore, and enjoying leisurely evenings. Think lightweight cotton t-shirts, shorts, skirts, or comfortable dresses.
  • Long-sleeved shirts and pants:  While the weather is predominantly warm, including a light jacket or long-sleeved shirt can be handy for cooler evenings or occasional breezes. Similarly, a pair of lightweight pants can be useful for venturing ashore to explore historical sites or for added modesty when visiting local towns.
  • Underwear and pajamas:  Pack enough comfortable undergarments and sleepwear for the duration of your cruise.
  • Comfortable sandals:  Pack a pair of comfortable sandals for navigating the gulet’s decks and exploring ashore. Opt for sandals with good tread for navigating uneven terrain at historical sites.
  • Non-slip water shoes:  Water shoes are essential for entering and exiting the water from the gulet, especially when exploring rocky coves. They also provide additional protection while swimming or snorkeling on the seabed.
  • Optional: Sneakers or light hiking shoes:  If you plan on venturing further inland for excursions or hikes, pack a pair of comfortable sneakers or light hiking shoes to ensure proper support on uneven terrain.
  • Towel:  Pack a quick-drying beach towel for swimming and lounging on deck. Many gulets provide towels, but it’s always a good idea to bring your own for convenience.
  • Toiletries:  Pack all your essential toiletries, including sunscreen, insect repellent, lip balm, moisturizer, and any personal hygiene products you require. Consider opting for travel-sized containers to save space.
  • Sunglasses:  A good pair of sunglasses with UV protection is a must-have for shielding your eyes from the bright Mediterranean sun.
  • Hat:  A wide-brimmed hat will provide much-needed shade and protect your head from the sun’s rays.
  • Reusable water bottle:  Staying hydrated is crucial on a gulet cruise. Pack a reusable water bottle to minimize plastic waste and ensure you have easy access to water throughout the day.
  • Camera:  Capture the breathtaking scenery and create lasting memories of your gulet cruise with a camera or smartphone. Consider a waterproof case for added protection if you plan on taking photos near the water.
  • Entertainment:  Pack a book, magazine, or downloaded entertainment for downtime on board. While the scenery and activities will keep you well-occupied, having some light entertainment options ensures you can relax and unwind at your own pace.
  • Cash:  While many expenses on board may be covered by your chosen package, carrying some Turkish Lira in cash can be useful for purchasing souvenirs ashore, tipping the crew (if not already included), or covering any incidental expenses.
  • Credit card:  Having a credit card as a backup payment option is always recommended. Ensure you inform your bank about your travel dates to avoid any potential issues with international transactions.
  • Important documents:  Pack a copy of your passport, travel insurance documents, and any other essential documents you might need during your trip. Consider keeping digital copies on your phone or cloud storage for added convenience.
  • Seasickness medication (optional):  If you’re prone to seasickness, pack some over-the-counter medication to prevent any discomfort during the cruise.

Additional Considerations

  • Personal electronics:  If you plan on using your phone or other electronic devices on board, ensure you have the necessary chargers and adapters. While some gulets offer charging stations, it’s always best to be prepared.
  • Medications:  Pack any prescription medications you require for the duration of your trip. Ensure they are clearly labeled in their original containers.

Embracing Sustainability: Cruising with an Eco-Conscious Mind

A gulet cruise offers a unique opportunity to explore the pristine beauty of the Turkish Riviera. However, with this privilege comes the responsibility to tread lightly and embrace sustainable practices. Gulet Broker is committed to responsible tourism, and we encourage our valued guests to embrace eco-consciousness throughout their gulet cruise experience. Here are some ways you can contribute to a sustainable and enjoyable journey for all:

  • Minimize Waste Generation:  Be mindful of the waste you produce on board. Utilize reusable water bottles, minimize single-use plastics, and properly dispose of any waste in designated bins. Many gulets are now equipped with recycling facilities, so inquire about proper waste separation procedures.
  • Respect the Marine Environment:  The turquoise waters of the Mediterranean teem with vibrant marine life. Avoid using harsh chemicals like sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate, which can be harmful to coral reefs. Opt for reef-safe alternatives to protect this delicate ecosystem. When swimming or snorkeling, avoid touching or disturbing coral formations or marine animals.
  • Support Local Communities:  Opt to purchase souvenirs and handcrafted goods from local vendors in the towns and villages you visit. This injects revenue directly into the local economy and supports traditional artisans. Be mindful of bargaining practices and ensure you pay fair prices for the goods you purchase.
  • Embrace Cultural Sensitivity:  As you explore historical sites and local communities, dress modestly and be respectful of local customs and traditions. Seek permission before taking photos of people, and avoid disturbing religious ceremonies or sacred spaces.
  • Responsible Wildlife Interaction:  The Turkish coastline provides a habitat for various wildlife species, including the endangered loggerhead turtle. If you encounter wildlife during your cruise, maintain a safe distance and avoid disturbing their natural behavior. Report any instances of illegal wildlife trade or animal cruelty to the authorities.

By embracing these practices, you can ensure your gulet cruise adventure has a positive impact on the environment and local communities. Together, we can preserve the pristine beauty of the Turkish Riviera for generations to come.

  • Stargazing Extravaganza:  Away from the light pollution of cities, the night sky aboard a gulet cruise comes alive with a breathtaking display of stars. Lie back on the deck, marvel at the Milky Way, and identify constellations with the help of crew members or stargazing apps.
  • Learning the Art of Turkish Cooking:  Some gulet cruises offer the opportunity to participate in cooking demonstrations or workshops. Learn the secrets of preparing traditional Turkish dishes from the onboard chef and impress your friends and family back home with your newfound culinary skills.
  • Turkish Night Celebration:  Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Turkey with a traditional Turkish night onboard your gulet. Enjoy a delectable feast featuring regional specialties, witness captivating performances of belly dancing and folk dances, and lose yourself in the rhythm of traditional Turkish music.
  • The Allure of Bioluminescence:  On certain nights, the waters around the Turkish Riviera come alive with a mesmerizing phenomenon called bioluminescence. Take a dip in the evening and witness the magical spectacle of plankton illuminating the water with an ethereal blue glow.
  • The Thrill of Watersports:  Many gulets offer various water sports equipment for rent, such as kayaks, paddleboards, or water skis. Embrace your adventurous spirit and explore hidden coves and secluded beaches from a unique perspective.
  • Fishing for Dinner:  For those who enjoy the thrill of the catch, some gulet cruises offer the opportunity to try your luck at fishing. Cast a line and see what you can reel in, potentially contributing to a delicious onboard meal prepared with your fresh catch.
  • The Serenity of Yoga on Deck:  Start your day with a rejuvenating yoga session on the sundeck. Surrounded by the breathtaking scenery and lulled by the gentle lapping of waves, find inner peace and embrace the tranquility of your gulet cruise experience.

These are just a few examples of the unexpected experiences that might enrich your gulet cruise. Embrace the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, try new things, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Choose your Gulet Cruise and Route

Gulet’s are authentic, yacht-like boats but with greater volume and much higher stability and they can usually be seen sailing around Mediterranean coastlines. They are classic and hand-built to traditional designs. Our private sailing holidays are the perfect way to see what the beautiful sites of Turkey, Greece Montenegro and Croatia have to offer. You can easily stop to view any cities or coastlines you cross. You may want to drop anchor and sunbathe or cool down by sailing in the breeze or having a dip in the crystal clear ocean.

Our own gulet Salamander in Turkey operates from Bodrum and sails from Turkey to Greece. This is our most traditional styled gulet and was built in 2005. When Salamander is full we use the beautiful Ya Selam. She is very similar in both size and style and the perfect option if Salamander is fully booked. On top of these we also have a selection of other options and locations including one in Croatia for the larger parties (up to 18) as well.

Yacht charters with Salamander Voyages are a great way to spend the holidays. If you’re a fan of the sea, sun and the outdoors, then ‘The Salamander Experience’ could be the perfect holiday for you.

Private crew and chef

At Salamander Voyages, our crew are dedicated to making your gulet/yacht charter one to remember. The crew includes your own private chef. Their local expertise of Turkey, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia means they can provide you with the authentic experience, of locations, food and culture.

Our first-time guests have a return rate of 40%. This mirrors the dedication and professionalism of our friendly crew. Once you’ve had a private gulet/yacht charter in the Mediterranean, no other holiday is the same.

Beautiful coastlines and cities

The coastlines of Turkey, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia are full of ancient cities, historic sites and secluded coves. One of the wonderful things about a gulet boat holiday is the freedom you have with being able to explore remote beaches and islands. We have a number of itineraries and fixed routes however our crew are flexible as long as the weather allows it. If you come across a location you particularly love, you can stay for longer. Also, you can choose whether to eat onboard or explore coastline cities and towns and visit local restaurants.

Top places to visit during a luxury gulet cruise in Turkey

Turkey is an amazing country and one of the most popular gulet cruise destinations that our clients end up booking, but besides all of its treasures, it’s important to know where to cruise. This blog post will inspire you and give you recommendations for top places to visit so that your holiday planning becomes easier.

Turkey map

Top places to visit during a luxury gulet cruise in Turkey :

Kuşadası Çeşme Dalyan Ildir Bodrum Datça Bencik & Knidos Keci Buku Selimiye Marmaris Ekincik Fethiye Ölüdeniz Kalkan Ucagiz Finike

Just 12 miles from Ephesus (an intriguing Roman city), Kuşadası is an artistic wonder. Its 2,000-year-old theatre still has performances today!

Kuşadası’s breath-taking architecture and wondrous sites such as Selçuk fortress have been main attractions for thousands of tourists every year.

The city itself holds many different stalls in a vast bazaar, and the local seafood is to die for.

Kusadası from Turkey

Rich in Ottoman and 14th Century history, Çeşme is a beautiful place for a beach and spa day where you can take it easy and unwind. The Ottomans were defeated by Russian ships in 1770, and there is also a historical Ottoman caravanserai that is quite popular for visitors.

Dalyan Ildur

Just a short boat ride from Ildur, Dalyan is quickly becoming a popular location. It is a beautiful, serene place rich in culture and history, featuring the King’s Tombs set just across from the river. You can eat at some excellent restaurants on the waterside and enjoy the sights right from your table.

Dalyan site

Bodrum: the capital of gulet cruises

At night, Bodrum is even more of a sight to see from the sea. It is home to the Castle of St. Peter, which also houses one of the city’s most remarkable museums; the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology. The ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, can be visited in Bodrum. It was built originally between 353 and 350 BC for Mausolus of Caria and his wife, Artemisia.

Bodrum city by night

Datça is just north of Greek island of Symi, and offers amazing scenery. It is a quiet town relatively shied away from tourism. There is a relaxing natural hot spring located in the centre of Datça, from where and you can see the coastline of Greek islands of Kos, Symi, and Rhodes right from the water’s edge.

There is a larger Bencik town located in Turkey, but Bencik in Hisarönü Bay is the small inlet located east of Datça and is the narrowest part of the peninsula.

There are no places to eat at Bencik, but the views alone are enough for a quick stopover during the day.

Before it was conquered, Knidos was an ancient Greek city of Caria famous for displaying the statue of Aphrodite by Praxiteles of Athens.

You can still visit the location where the statue once remained and see the ornate marble pedestal that held the statue.

Knidos is also well-known for its amazing views and natural harbor, alongside its history.

' title=

Keci Buku (also known as Orhaniye Bay) is much like Bencik; beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. It’s a good spot for swimming during the day, and you can also visit the ancient Caria Bybassos ruins.

The bay is very shallow up to around 500 metres in length, so it can look quite odd to look out over the bay and see what appears to be people walking right out into the ocean!

Selimiye is a bit different – the town has many visitors that come by boat or gulet, and they practice in the art of boat-making, so you might get the rare chance to see a gulet being crafted!

A newly developed boardwalk has been completed which allows you to walk the length of the bay area and look out at the calming waters.

There are also many great restaurants that serve the freshest fish.

selimiye01

Marmaris is a bustling city that started with humble beginnings.

It’s one of the main shopping and trading locations in Turkey, and is a very popular destination for tourists.

Lovely place to shop for souvenirs and it has some delicious dishes from exquisite restaurants.

Marmaris harbor

Ekincik is a glorious spot spanning a stretch along Turkey’s famous turquoise coast.

There are some fantastic places for scuba-diving and snorkelling, as well as relaxing and quiet swimming spots.

Those who want to explore inland can visit the ancient fourth century temples of Kaunos.

There are many things to see and do in Fethiye that you could easily spend one or two days here and still want to come back again.

If history and culture is your main interest, you might find the Fethiyes’ Roman Amphitheatre and Lycian Rock Tombs to your liking.

Of course, there are plenty of places to do: a spot of sunbathing and swimming, and just close by lies Butterfly Valley – an amazing habitat for more than a hundred varieties of butterflies.

Fethiye Turkey

Not far below Fethiye lies Ölüdeniz, a popular and protected part of the Turkish coast that offers amazing scenery and pleasant spots for relaxing.

Ölüdeniz means “dead sea” as its waters are very calm and offer a very meditative experience.

Kalkan is a buzzing hub of activity for ancient tours – but you won’t find masses of crowds here as you might elsewhere. This is a relatively unspoiled area of the Lycian coast, and offers amazing hospitality, food, and a relaxing atmosphere for you to truly unwind and rejuvenate. For those who like to shop and indulge a little, the smaller town of Kaş just 25 miles from Kalkan and another unspoiled area, is a great place to wind down. Ancient areas still exist around Kas and Kalkan, including the small town of Aperlae, which has some amazing underwater ruins left over from its ancient Lycia days.

Town Kalkan, Mediterranean Coast, Turkey

Just a short way away from its main province, Kale, Üçağız has some intriguing attractions and serene views.

You can visit Lycian tombs that are over 2,000 years old, plus the marble ruins of a “sunken city” located beneath the water just offshore.

The town is becoming more popular, but many quaint restaurants can be frequented for your share of fine wine and great local food.

For some fantastic architecture, you can visit the Lycian rock tombs in the ancient Greek town of Myra, or the Roman theatre which is currently under restoration.

Finike is best known for its abundance of sweet oranges, locally grown in the town. It has some beautiful areas, including a nice harbor and delicious local food. It’s also a town rich in history, and the ancient city of Arycanda can be visited for its intriguing culture.

Testimonials

"I recently went on a blue voyage in Fethiye and it was an unforgettable experience. The crystal-clear waters and stunning coastline were breathtaking, and the crew on board were so friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was also exceptional, with fresh seafood and traditional Turkish dishes prepared daily. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing vacation."

"If you're looking for an adventure that combines relaxation with stunning natural beauty, then a blue voyage in Fethiye is the perfect choice. The yacht was spacious and comfortable, and the crew made us feel right at home. We were able to explore hidden coves, snorkel in the turquoise waters, and even hike up to ancient ruins along the coast. It was an experience unlike any other."

The Robertsons

"I cannot recommend a blue voyage in Fethiye enough! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with clear blue skies and sparkling waters as far as the eye could see. The yacht was luxurious and well-appointed, with plenty of room to relax and soak up the sun. We also had the opportunity to visit charming coastal towns and sample delicious local cuisine. It was truly the trip of a lifetime!"

Bodrum Tour Blue Cruise

Last Updated on April 28, 2024

Bodrum Tour is a gulet charter company based in Bodrum – which is one of the leading gulet destinations in Turkey. Bodrum Tour operates under a Turkish Tourism Charter License and Tursab membership with over 32 years of yachting and charter experience combined with the knowledge of the resources of Turkey.

Company owners of this blue cruise adventure have a passion for wooden yachts, Turkish hospitality and culture, fine local cuisine, and they love to plan every detail with their guests to make sure they have the best gulet experience in Bodrum, Marmaris, Gocek, and Fethiye.

Bodrum Tour offers both  Private Charters  and  Cabin Charters .

Private Charters

A private charter, one of the best options, is when you assemble a group of family and/or friends and charter an entire yacht for a cruise of a few days or a week.

Cabin Charter

A  cabin charter  is when you just  rent a cabin  on a Turkish gulet —much like a hotel room—rather than charter the entire gulet. It is a cheaper option for those who aren't traveling with a big group.

What Bodrum Tour Offers

With a flexible itinerary, guests can change their plans for the best vacation of their choice. For example, if guests discover an anchorage that they particularly love, they can choose to spend extra time there. At night, if you have more energy and want to do something more exciting, you might choose to go ashore and enjoy local Turkish cuisine and nightlife. The beauty of a private gulet is that you have the choice.

Bodrum Tour Yachting and Travel offers multiple options based on preference, price range, and itinerary. When choosing the gulet or yacht that best suits your party, you have the option to choose from a range of luxury gulets, deluxe gulets, and traditional models. Each gulet's prices are based on amenities, itineraries, and season (low, high, and peak). May – October low season, June - September high,  July – August peak season for gulet and yacht charter.

Bodrum Tour Yachting and Travel does an excellent job communicating with guests and helping build the perfect plan for your gulet trip based on your preferences. For example, if you prefer to spend more time sailing, they will match you with the right yacht and itinerary for the best conditions depending on the time of year.

Additionally, their gulets are accessible to those with mobility restrictions. Aside from easily accessible cabins and decks, Bodrum Tour also has an incredibly kind and helpful staff who will assist in getting on and off of the gulet and swim ladder as needed.

Bodrum Tour helps you every step of the way to provide a perfect, memorable gulet excursion.
