Club Membership Ambassador (Concierge)

MISSION This position contributes to the success of the California Yacht Club (“Club”) by creating positive experiences for every prospective member, current member, guests and CYC team members. The Club Ambassador supports all aspects of Front Desk and Welcome Podium operations including coordinating reservations, membership admin tasks, retail sales, restaurant hosting, membership lead reply and communicating key information about CYC. The keys to success for this position are being personable, able to work well with other team members, detail oriented and able to efficiently complete all required tasks in a timely manner. KEY RESULTS & TASKS A. Reservations

• Create letters of introduction for member visiting from reciprocal clubs
• Input dining reservations into system
• Input event reservations into system
• Process Paddle board reservations
• Always Greet Club members by name, and any guests and visitors.
• Soft check if visitors are CYC members
• Provide directions and address to club by phone, email, in person
• Properly route phone calls to the appropriate club contact
• Describe details of upcoming club events
• Assist in updating weekly event summary sheet, email distribute accordingly
• Respond to club emails and other digital communication channels
• Process lost membership card requests
• Coordinate membership account issues
• Deliver new member packets
• Process membership address changes
• Check in reciprocal club members
• Answer mail, emails, and field phone calls from members, prospective members, and reciprocal clubs.
• Maintain current knowledge of Club literature; Breeze, Zephyr, slip map, organizational chart of committee chairs to maintain and provide correct Club information including events.
• Record lost and found items in log book and properly secure item.
• Provide gate access to Club members or authorized guests when Guard not available.
• Issue and process certificates and gift cards
• Assist in using social media platforms
• Process retail transactions properly using POS software
• Handle cash transactions properly using cash drop
• Maintain organized retail display
• Input and oversee dining reservations in dining reservation system
• Properly escort arriving members and guests to dining room
• Offer guests to be seated while they wait for arriving member.
• Respond to all incoming web leads via email utilizing clubhouse tour booking app for tour scheduling
• Build and maintain lead database for potential members
• Implement lead generation programs as needed
• Ideal: Minimum of 2 years of experience in same or similar positions in the Retail, Hospitality, or Sales industry
• Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ideal: College Degree in Business Administration, Communication or related field
• Ideal: CPR Certification

Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma has an assistant golf course superintendent opening. The assistant golf course superintendent reports directly to the golf course superintendent and may serve in the superintendent’s capacity in his absence.  The superintendent and assistant will both monitor and inspect the course to provide members and guests with excellent playing conditions on a daily basis.  In collaboration with the superintendent, both will be responsible for directing all aspects of turf health, playability and aesthetics of the entire golf course property to meet Jimmie Austin standards. This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibilities of leading, directing, overseeing and training the turf care staff including any disciplinary action/documentation required.  The assistant will be required to create a daily schedule, supervise and oversee the proper performance of the staff to carry out the daily schedule.  Other areas of emphasis will be operating all irrigation systems, performing and overseeing all chemical applications and documentation.  The assistant will be involved in building weekly, monthly and yearly agronomic schedules and plans for the turf care department with some emphasis on budgetary items.  

The position requires a 2 or 4-year degree in turfgrass management, an Oklahoma pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one, and a valid driver’s license. At least two years’ golf course maintenance experience and substantial experience with bentgrass greens management in the transitions zone is preferred.  The position requires an individual who is a proven leader, self-starter, hard-working and maintains a positive attitude daily.

• Provide strong observational skills that take into account the overall picture of the property
• Produce exceptional communication skills (bilingual preferred)
• Ability to work weekends, extra hours, holidays, club events and during inclement weather conditions as needed
• Ability to think outside the box for overall success of the club
• Oversee and assist with all chemical application operations of the department
• Oversee and assist with the overall bentgrass greens management of the department

Compensation:

• Full-time salary or hourly position with PTO, medical and retirement benefits, GCSAA membership, clothing allowance, golfing privileges all dependent on past experience
