You may consult an expert or yacht broker to get a more accurate cost estimate for a specific yacht. The operating costs of each yacht can vary based on a number of factors, including the size, age, and condition of the yacht, as well as the location of the yacht and the level of use.
Valor yacht is also known as BG Charade
The proud owner of this luxurious vessel is Canadian entrepreneur Bobby Genovese. Though his exact net worth is not public knowledge, Bobby has made a fortune through his successful ventures and investments.
Valor, a 46.88-meter Feadship yacht, has had quite the journey. Built in 1990 and refitted in 2015, Bobby acquired this beauty for a rumored $15,000,000 in that same year. This nearly 154-foot-long yacht can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests and comes with a crew of 10 members.
When it comes to operating costs, you should be aware that renting Valor for your dream vacation will set you back a considerable amount. It is available for charter starting at $260,000 per week, excluding expenses. However, keep in mind that chartering this celebrity-favorite vessel will undoubtedly be a lavish and unforgettable experience.
Ohana is built by Admiral in Italy
The Ohana yacht, featured on Below Deck, is owned by Captain Lee Rosbach and his wife, Lisa. They reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and have owned the yacht for over ten years. Ohana is a 154-foot (47-meter) long motor yacht built by Admiral in Italy. The cost of the yacht might vary depending on its age, condition, and customization. However, yachts of similar size on the market may lie within the range of $20 million to $40 million. Keep in mind that these numbers are just an estimate; the actual price of Ohana may be different.
Operating a yacht like Ohana can be costly. Some of the annual expenses of maintaining and running a yacht of this size can include fuel, crew salaries, insurance, maintenance, dockage fees, and more. It is typically estimated that the annual operating cost falls between 10% and 15% of the yacht's purchase price. Below Deck Yachts
If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.
The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.
Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!
Below Deck Charter Yachts
Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.
But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?
Season | Yacht | Real Name | Length | Charter Rate |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Honor | Lumiere | 163.8’ | From $175,000/week |
2 | Ohana | Rhino | 154’ | From $140,000/week |
3 | Eros | Mustang Sally | 161’ | Not Available |
4 | Valor | BG | 153.9’ | Not Available |
5 | Valor | BG | 153.9’ | Not Available |
Mediterranean 1 | Ionian Princess | Ionian Princess | 150’ | From €145,000/week |
Mediterranean 2 | Sirocco | Sirocco | 154.2′ | From €180,000/week |
Mediterranean 3 | Talisman Maiton | Talisman Maiton | 177.1′ | From €231,000/week |
Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:
Honor – Season 1
Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.
HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.
She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).
Ohana – Season 2
Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.
OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.
She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.
Eros – Season 3
EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.
EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.
Valor – Seasons 4 & 5
The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.
Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.
Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts
Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.
Ionian Princess – Season 1
Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.
The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.
Sirocco – Season 2
Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.
Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.
Talisman Maiton – Season 3
Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.
The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.
How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?
Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!
Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.
Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs
Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.
Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

Meet the Superyachts of Below Deck
17th mar 2022 by samantha wilson.
The US TV show Below Deck has become a global hit as it follows the crews of superyachts as they navigate the highs and lows of life in this ultra-glamourous world. There are tears and tantrums, eccentric yacht charter guests to contend with, dazzling destinations and a whole lot of drama. Viewers have been gripped with the shows – season 9 Below Deck has recently aired – for the unique insight into what has, until now, been a tantalizingly elusive industry. Just what goes on behind the gilded doors of those glittering superyachts? Well, now we know.
The yachts themselves have risen to as much fame as the crews and captains, and left many a-viewer daydreaming of a few days lounging on the teak decks of MY Seanna or Valor. Here we take a look at the superyachts that have shot to reality TV stardom, discover their real names and how much it costs to charter a Below Deck yacht.
The very first yacht to appear on Below Deck Season 1 was this 50 metre Benetti, with the now famous Captain Lee Rosbach at the helm. Cruising around Sint Marten in the Caribbean, one of the top destinations for superyacht charters, Honor – whose real name is actually Barents - wowed viewers with her luxury and elegance. The six staterooms, sun deck, drinks bar and the must-have hot tub, played host to fun and shenanigans as the Below Deck yacht crew hosted their guests during four-night charters. Barents was designed by Stefano Natucci, and has recently undergone a full refit adding a sleek interior design to the arsenal of water toys, gym, beach club and indoor and outdoor cinemas. MY Barents charters for around €155,000/week.
While 46.94m superyacht Ohana appeared in Season 2 Below Deck under her own name, she was renamed Star Diamond since her sale. Built by Admiral Marine Works in 1998, Star Diamond had a major refit in 2018 and oozes classic superyacht elegance with soft, neutral interior design by Donald Starkey Designs, as well as plenty of deck space. Viewers will remember the deck crew battling with the large inflatable slide which offers guests a rip-roaring entry into the waters of Star Diamond’s summer cruising grounds of the Caribbean (we saw her cruising around one of the world’s top charter destinations, the British Virgin Islands), while the sun deck Jacuzzi and large on-deck dining area saw their fair share of scintillating drama. Ohana charters for around $160,000 per week.
Season 3 Below Deck saw the 49.7m Eros make her television debut as she glided around the turquoise waters of The Bahamas with Captain Lee on the bridge. At the time she was officially named Mustang Sally, but has since been renamed Stay Salty. With space for 12 guests and 10 crew members, Stay Salty is currently not available for charter, which is a disappointment to those who dreamed of lounging in her outdoor hot tub or enjoying a meal with friends around the al fresco dining table. Designed by Geoff Van Aller, Stay Salty offers a classically elegant interior styling, with rich woods and neutral tones, as well as plenty of deck space…all of which needed meticulous cleaning by her famed 2015 crew.
Valor appeared in Season 4, 5 and 7 of Below Deck as she cruised around the glorious superyacht destinations of the US Virgin Islands, Saint-Martin and Phuket, Thailand. The 47 metre Feadship is actually named BG (for her owner, the Canadian entrepreneur Bobby Genovese) and spends her winters in the Caribbean and summers in the Mediterranean. With her monogram palette, sky lounge, beautiful outdoor spaces and that infamous water slide, it is easy to see why Bravo used BG as the setting for so many of its seasons. BG charters for around €140,000/week.
MY Seanna has now joined Valor in featuring more times than any other Below Deck superyacht, with appearances in three of the nine seasons. When we first met her she was sailing around the stunning tropical islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific under her own name, but has since be renamed Starship (although in Season 9 Below Deck she is still using her original name). Throughout her seasons on the show, MY Seanna has cruised some of the world’s best superyacht destinations including Antigua and St Kitts. With her open air Jacuzzi, spacious beach club and adrenaline-pumping selection of water toys it’s no wonder she has been one of the show’s best-loved superyachts. Starship charters from $260,000/week.
Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Below Deck’s astounding popularity has seen spin-off series’ Below Deck Mediterranean (with the much-loved Captain Sandy at the helm) and Below Deck Sailing Yacht (with the laid-back Captain Glen) air simultaneously. With new cruising grounds and a whole new fleet of spectacular charter superyachts, fans can get their fix of the trials, tribulations and behind-the-scenes intrigue of their favourite superyacht crews.

The only bad part about watching Bravo's Below Deck — and believe me, it's hard to find one—is the jealousy you feel over seeing the gorgeous yacht, complete with luxurious amenities, that the crew lives and works on. Of course, the members of the crew don't actually get to enjoy all that the ship has to offer since they have to please the yacht's guests at all costs, working pretty much like glorified servants. Oh well. Living vicariously is second best to experiencing something yourself!
But if you've got money to burn, or even if you don't, you may wonder if you too can take the yacht featured on Below Deck for a spin. This is a reality TV show after all where everything is supposed to exist in real life. Lucky for you, the Below Deck yacht is in fact real, and chartering it is as easy as writing an email or making a phone call . . . if you have dollah dollah bills, yo.
In the first season of the show, the crew worked on the Honor and traveled around Anguilla, St. Barts, St. Maarten, and Saba. Well, that yacht was sold , so this season of Below Deck , the crew will climb aboard the Ohana in the British Virgin Islands for another dose of nautical naughtiness. However, since the show wrapped, the Ohana, which means "family" in Hawaiian as Lilo & Stitch drilled into our brains , has been renamed Rhino . That doesn't sound as warm and fuzzy as "Ohana," does it? The Below Deck crew must have really done a number on this ship.
In fact, the Ohana was sold and refitted, or renovated, in 2014. The new owner of the yacht supposedly wanted to "distance RHINO" from Below Deck since it received some criticism for not accurately portraying the world of yachting. There may be some truth to that. For the first season, The Triton reports that producers chartered the Honor, whose original name was Cuor di Leone, for five weeks during the winter season and gave the real crew a vacation, with the exception of the captain, an engineer, and a mate. They cast crew members and guests willing to be filmed on the show. The casting application for season two is even still available online.
Now that Rhino has been spruced up with brand-new interiors and rebuilt engines, you can take it on a cruise around New England for the remainder of the summer. Or, if you're more of a planner, you can charter the yacht this winter and head for the Caribbean. Just remember that it's not going to be cheap. Charters start at $140,000 per week plus expenses for this yacht. That's a tad pricier than a ride on the East River Ferry in New York City, I would say.
But once you hear about the amenities on the ship, you know the price is going to be worth it. With five cabins that include one master bedroom, two double beds, and two twin beds, you can fit up to 10 people on this yacht. However, with so much to do on board, you're probably not going to get much sleep. You've got your gym equipment, your deck jacuzzi, and even a water slide, which will all keep the good times rolling for the guests . . . and the crew when nobody's watching. Just call up your neighborhood yacht charter broker, who works similarly to a travel agent (remember those?), and he or she can hook you up today.
Charter listings for the Ohana can still be found online. One of them says, " OHANA has a highly professional and very child-friendly crew of 8." Clearly, whoever wrote that has never seen Below Deck .

Meet ‘Home,’ the Sleek 164-Foot Superyacht That Starred in ‘Below Deck’
The 164-footer was not only the backdrop for the reality series but also has hybrid propulsion and a "50 shades of white" interior., julia zaltzman, julia zaltzman's most recent stories.

The 164-foot motor yacht Home was Heesen’s first hybrid yacht when it delivered in 2017. It was also the first yacht to combine hybrid propulsion with a Fast Displacement Hull Shape (FDHF), which is proven to outperform conventional hull forms at all speeds. Built in lightweight aluminum, Home delivers 48 percent more fuel efficiency than other yachts of the same size.
Another perk of the hybrid propulsion package is reduced noise and vibration. Sensory expert Barry Smith, founder of the Centre for the Study of the Senses, discovered that the enjoyment of fine dining and wine while cruising in electric mode is significantly enhanced.
“Our research has shown that the brain’s processing of taste is affected by noise, which reduces the tongue’s ability to detect salt, sweet and sour,” says Smith. “The beauty of Home is the ability to run at a sound of around 46 decibels—the sound level of softly falling rain—enabling those on board to enjoy food and drink with no diminution of taste.”
Home began as a speculation build by the shipyard, before the American owner stepped in to the project. The initial interior was not to his liking, so he engaged Italian designer Cristiano Gatto to rework the design. He mandated simplicity, rather than minimalism. He also requested decor inspired by his residences, reflecting their contemporary Ibiza style. One perfect example: The slinky metal chaise lounge in the main salon by Italian designer Franco Poli.
Here are 10 facts about one of the world’s first hybrid yachts.
Star of the Med
Home ’s fortune took a sharp turn in 2022 when it became the star of the seventh season of Below Deck Mediterranean . Filmed in Malta, the reality series followed its crew over an eight-week charter season, with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm. Unlike most yachts on Below Deck, Home retained its real name on screen. It was the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on the show, and in typical style, the producers added a dancing pole to the sundeck to spice up the onboard antics.
50 Shades of White
Home takes the trend for neutral interiors to a whole new level. Alongside a color palette of black and gray with pops of deep red, the yacht features 50 shades of white, from off-white to ivory. The original owner mandated an interior that gave him a “home away from home”—hence the yacht’s name. Low-slung sofas and bespoke loose furniture create a relaxed and welcoming beach club ambience. The vessel’s teak flooring and full-height glass windows blur the distinction between inside and out.
Party Lounge
One of Heesen’s signature areas is an upper-deck sky lounge. Home ’s casual bean bags, daybeds, and stark-white bar with LED strip lighting provide a natural extension to the alfresco dining terrace. When the doors to the aft deck are shut and the furniture removed, a mirror ball and a smoke machine are added turning the area into a dedicated party room for nighttime use.
A Dreamier Shade of Pale
Full-height windows in the full-beam, main deck owner’s suite bounce natural light off the paler-than-pale color scheme. The off-white bed, rug, walls, and ceiling are offset with a sky-blue bed throw. There is a dressing room, an en suite with shower and a private office. There’s also a full-beam VIP cabin on the lower deck, as well as two double cabins and two twin cabins to accommodate 12 guests, including families.
Moody Sundeck
Home ’s sundeck is the hub of the boat. There are sun lounges forward with privacy glass safety screens to shelter guests from sea spray and wind. Beneath the hardtop bimini is a large sit-up bar and lounge area, which also doubles as an outdoor dining area. The bar lights up in soft pastel shades at night to bring the party atmosphere. Aft is a Jacuzzi, while a projector and a screen set-up transform the deck into an outdoor cinema.
On the Nose
The yacht is easily spotted on the horizon, thanks to its distinctive plumb bow. The vertical front increases Home ’s waterline length, helping it to slice through waves and lift in rougher water. It guarantees a smoother and faster ride for guests, as well as creating more room on the interior for crew accommodations. For a more immersive journey, a telescopic seat on the foredeck rises from the bow for 360-degree views.
Sea Terrace
A central staircase on the main deck aft leads down to an oversized swim platform that doubles as a sea-level sun lounge. With plenty of room for daybeds and sunrise yoga sessions, it’s the perfect waterside hang out.
The Athletic Club
The lower-deck gym is a full-beam, air-conditioned space for guests to sweat it out. It’s kitted out with a range of equipment, including a workout bench, Techno Gym dumbbells, an exercise bike, and a rowing machine. When guests are done with their workout, they’re just a few steps from the sea for the ultimate plunge to cool off.
The Electric Package
The twin 805 hp MTU engines (smaller than those typically fitted on a yacht of this size) can be operated in four different cruising modes: hybrid (with noise levels in the owner’s stateroom measuring as low as 46 decibels), economic, cruising (consuming as little as 12 gallons per hour at 9 knots), and boost, which pushes the boat to a top speed of 16.8 knots.
Fast, Efficient Hull
At the time of launch, Home was the first yacht to combine the super efficiency of an FDHF hull, designed by Van Oosenan Naval Architects, with hybrid propulsion. The combination was celebrated with a RINA green award presented by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Here’s Why the New Boat Is Unlike Any Other Yacht Captain Sandy Yawn Has Run
The Below Deck Mediterranean captain shared “the cool thing about motor yacht Home .”
Captain Sandy Yawn has worked on a variety of vessels over the years, but when the Below Deck Mediterranean boss stepped foot on her new yacht for Season 7, she quickly realized it would be a totally different experience from any she’d had before.
How to Watch
Watch Below Deck Mediterranean on Mondays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo app .
“The cool thing about motor yacht Home , it’s a hybrid,” Sandy explained in an interview on the show’s July 11 episode. “It’s really futuristic looking. Everything’s white, stainless, ultra-modern. [It’s the] first boat like this I’ve ever run.”
With that in mind, Sandy was quick to explain the importance of keeping Home clean as soon as the crew arrived for their first day. “I got a floor thing,” she said. “I don’t want to see dirty floors.”
In the video above, chief stew Natasha Webb gives BravoTV.com a tour of Home. As she explains, the “most impressive part of the boat” is a guest cabin that has “massive windows everywhere” and a bathroom so big “you can literally have a party” in it. There is also a “beautiful crew mess area” and a spacious lounge. In the clip, Mzi “Zee” Dempers takes over the tour to show the sun deck (complete with sun beds and a hot tub where “dirty things happen”), before Captain Sandy gives a detailed look at the bridge.
“The boat’s really sophisticated, and I actually like it,” Sandy says in the video. “It’s fast.”

Despite its controversial depiction of the life of charter crew and guests, ‘reality’ TV show ‘Below Deck’ does offer a look into kinds of spectacular destinations that are possible on board a beautiful charter yacht such as OHANA – now sold and renamed RHINO – with season 2 filmed in the breath taking British Virgin Islands.
As luxury yachting vacations go, the British Virgin Islands are up there with the most historical, famous and popular, and for good reason. Shot over five weeks during the winter Caribbean season, the ‘Below Deck’ series gives a small insight into what makes this idyllic archipelago so appealing. With the three main island of Jost Van Dyke , Tortola and Virgin Gorda on offer, combined with a scattering of smaller islands and islets, there is everything you could need to create the perfect paradise charter itinerary
The beauty of a British Virgin Islands yacht charter is the abundant opportunities for island hopping, enjoying a range of bars, restaurants, dive sites and Caribbean beaches all within one vacation. At 20km long and 6km wide, Tortola is the largest of the BVI’s and the place where most charters embark and/or disembark due to its fantastic superyacht marinas and facilities.
The beautiful Virgin Gorda meanwhile epitomises the volcanic nature of the BVI’s, rising steeply out of the turquoise waters to a peak of 410m. Aside from its fine sand beaches and luxury resorts, the island is most famous for ‘the baths’ which can be found at the southern end of the island surrounded by clusters of huge granite boulders that form enchanting grottoes.
Renowned for its exclusive social scene and idyllic beaches, Jost Van Dyke has long been a hot spot for the superyacht set. Having recently undergone an extensive refit, the 47m/154ft motor yacht RHINO provides a luxurious setting in which to explore the British Virgin Islands . Her beautifully refreshed interior encompasses stylish, spacious living areas finished with fine furnishings and artworks, with accommodation offered for up to 10 guests in five staterooms.
An extensive array of amenities is provided, to include an expansive sundeck with Jacuzzi, shaded outdoor bar, a number of al fresco dining and seating areas and an armada of watertoys. RHINO will again be heading to the Caribbean waters this winter but this time away from the cameras. Weekly charter rates start at $140,000, contact your charter broker for further details.

Aesha Scott deals with Elena ‘Ellie’ Dubaich overstepping on Below Deck Med
In the latest preview video for the Below Deck Med Season 9 finale, things pick up right where they left off this week. Aesha confronts Ellie for pushing her boundaries and trying to take on the chief stew duties.
Ellie didn’t mean for it to come across that way, but Aesha isn’t buying it. Via her confessional, Aesha goes off on Ellie, calling her out for being “so calculated” about her moves.
Meanwhile, Ellie feels defeated in her confessional, claiming she can’t seem to do anything right in Aesha’s eyes. Very little gets resolved in their chat besides Aesha standing her ground for Ellie to stop trying to pull rank.
