General Informations
The C-Cat 38 represents the upgrade of the acclaimed C-Cat 37, a multihull with a sporty spirit, great comfort, and refined design. These are all ingredients of the acclaimed success of the project entrusted to Comar Yachts by Marc Lombard, an internationally renowned designer for high-performance catamarans. Lombard, together with the technical team at Comar, has developed an exciting and innovative project.
The new C Cat 38 is 73 cm longer than the C Cat 37, aiming for an estimated speed increase of 0.9 knots at 10 knots of wind. In the cockpit, a comfortable aft bench and a table that’s 35 cm longer have been added. Among the new features are the composite davits and wheels, bowsprit, carbon posts, and bimini. The sail plan will be more powerful due to the increased area of the mainsail and the Code 0 sail.
As is Comar’s tradition, great emphasis has been placed on performance, represented by pure speed and the ability to navigate well in all sea and wind conditions. The C-Cat 38, in addition to its generous sail plan, boasts a refined hull shape, the result of thorough study, allowing it to sail in light winds – a critical condition for cruising catamarans – while still delivering the same performance as a monohull cruiser-racer when sailing upwind and achieving exciting speeds in fresh winds.
Comfort is ensured by the pronounced redan in the topsides, which maintains a slender waterline in the immersed section before broadening in the emerged section. The redan and the high trampoline above the waterline ensure a dry deck even in choppy waters.
The spacious interior is available in versions with 2 to 4 cabins and 2 bathrooms. Notably, there’s a seamless flow of the flooring between the cockpit and the dinette, separated only by a sliding door that can be fully opened. The cockpit is sheltered by a rigid hardtop designed to be fully enclosed with fabric or removable composite panels. This solution effectively allows for a doubling of the dinette area while ensuring sufficient outdoor space for maneuvers. In this C-Cat 38, efforts have been made to harmonize the external forms with the interior space requirements, resulting in an elegant and increasingly spirited multihull.
