The practical cockpit of the my 37.

Fountaine Pajot MY 37 is a convivial yacht with various areas dedicated to fun and relaxation. Movement is facilitated throughout the yacht, and the cockpit and saloon are seamlessly binded thanks to sliding doors on the whole width.

You may welcome up to 6 persons around the cockpit table. Options can also contribute to make the cockpit even more convenient, with space for an extra fridge, a barbecue and a hydraulic gangway.

To prepare for comfort in all weathers, a second wheelhouse can be fitted in the saloon, and alternatively a sofa. 

Storage is optimized to allow long term cruising, and the galley also accomodates for offshore navigation.

The flybridge offers 12sqm to enjoy the view, relax or share friendly or romantic moments.

You can even choose to have a galley upstairs to make it a full reception area. Of course, just like the cockpit, you can protect the flybridge with a canvass enclosure, against excessive sun or rain.

Large windows offer exceptional panoramic views and natural light throughout, while the 2.1m allow untroubled circulation. Fountaine Pajot MY 37: Power performance & sea worthiness

Fountaine Pajot development team had autonomy and performance in mind when creating the MY 37. The yacht has an efficient fuel consumption and allows sensational performance at sea.

This power catamaran is set for long term cruises, thanks to large tanks (600 liters fuel, 350 liters water), autonomy options such as generator, watermaker, electric windlass, washing machine, additional fridge or freezer, etc.

The fuel efficiency of the Fountaine Pajot MY 37 grants top speeds at 20 knots, with a persistent eco-cruising performance of 1200nm at 7.5 knots.

The structure of the boat is designed to deliver stability and to perform well, thanks to the wide hulls and the high bridge deck clearance.

Available versions for Fountaine Pajot MY 37

The MY 37 power catamaran is available both in Maestro (3 cabins) and Quatuor (4 cabins) versions, which makes the yacht perfect either for family blue water cruising or charter.

In both versions, the aft cabins boast island beds while the beds in the forward cabins are not compromised in size unlike other catamarans in its class.

MY 37 Maestro version

The three-cabin Owner’s version boast a layout and fixtures befitting a boat of a much larger size, with its generous portside master suite and private bathroom, two spacious guest cabins with large shared bathroom, laundry and remarkable storage capacity.

Fountaine Pajot MY 37 Boat Test

The Fountaine Pajot MY 37 is a boat that’s more about the journey than the destination. Whatever course you set aboard this cat, don’t be in hurry. Powered by twin 220 hp Volvo Penta D3 diesel inboards, in our tests it maxed out at 20.2 mph. The 37 is a great boat for enjoying the trip, whether underway or anchored in a crystal-clear lagoon. The salon offers an excellent view thanks to a wraparound windshield that extends nearly the full length of the cabin on both sides. An ultrawide aft entry offers easy access in and out. A galley with a double sink, cooktop, oven and cabinets lines the port side, while a convertible dinette/settee and refrigerator reside to starboard. The 16-foot-8-inch beam grants plenty of stability. Air ­conditioning powered by a 7.5 kW generator will keep everyone cool and comfy.

Our test boat featured two helm stations, including one in the forward salon. Companionways lead in two opposite directions to sleeping quarters below. To port, we found a master stateroom aft and a master head forward. To starboard, a pair of staterooms occupy fore and aft, with a shared head in between. In-hull portlights and overhead hatches usher sunlight below deck.

The aft cockpit is designed for easy access to the water with walkways to the swim platform on both sides of a huge aft stowage locker. And you can option this boat with a motorized platform extension that descends to the water level for easy reboarding.

With a flying bridge that’s nearly as wide as the salon, you can accommodate a crowd aloft, where you’ll find a full hardtop for shade and wraparound seating on the port side for comfort. A dining table lets everyone enjoy refreshments up top while the captain pilots the boat from the starboard helm.

A stainless-steel rail surrounds the catwalks and bow area for safety when going forward to man lines or to anchor the MY 37 in that crystal-clear ­Caribbean cove.

High Points

• Sleeping quarters for five to eight crew mean you can carry a crowd.
• Cruising range of 711 miles lets you reach remote destinations.
• Second helm in the salon allows the captain to stay dry when skies open up.
• Don’t count on a lot of speed; this boat is about comfort, not velocity.
• Helm seating on the flying bridge feels too low.

Toughest Competitor The Aquila 36 ($470,000 with twin Mercury 350 Verados) is a similar-size cat, but it’s more of dayboat. It lacks a salon and flying bridge but boasts a 40.1 mph top speed.

The notion of sitting back on soft cushions in the cockpit, sipping a chilled pinot gris as the coastline slowly unfolds in the distance is part of the seduction of cruising.

The reality, though, can be slopping said drink all over clothing and cushions as the skipper turns the wheel and the boat heels … which is probably why catamaran cruising was invented. And, perhaps, why the French do it so well.

Enter the new Fountaine Pajot MY37, a power catamaran that offers all the space you’d expect from a 5m beam, with the stability to ensure we don’t spill our drinks, along with elegant French styling.

Fountaine Pajot was founded in 1976 near La Rochelle on the French Atlantic coast. Its first cruising catamaran was launched in 1983, with power cats added in 1998. The company is represented in Australia by Multihull Solutions. Our test boat was optioned-up close to top-of-the-range, including powerful 220hp Volvo Penta D3 engines (150hp versions are standard).

The MY37 is designed to optimise entertaining and relaxation, and its capacious 13.5m2 cockpit comfortably accommodates six guests at the dining table while still allowing easy circulation and access through the large sliding saloon doors. The generous 12m2 flybridge is a superb retreat for both guests and crew. Catamarans are known for their abundant volume and stability, making them a preferred craft for cruising enthusiasts. [Fountaine ­Pajot’s][] MY 37 is part of a four-model lineup that stretches to 55 feet LOA.

The MY 37 easily accommodates the seafaring family with three- and four-stateroom options. In the three-cabin version, called ­Maestro, you’ll find an owner’s suite in the portside hull with a queen-size berth and en suite head. Two double-berth cabins and one more head are available for the kids. If your brood is bigger, the Quator setup features four double cabins with two heads.

The 37 is a traveler and can be powered with twin 150 hp or 220 hp Volvo Penta diesels. Top speed with the smaller engines is 17 knots, while it’s 20 knots with the bigger power plants. Interestingly, at 7 knots, the fuel consumption is the same, with either set of motors offering voyagers a 1 ,000-nm range.

A shallow 2-foot-6-inch draft should make the MY 37 a solid performer in skinny water, allowing you to take the dinghy ashore easily or spend a day on the beach.

Licence and skipper for renting a catamaran.

A licence is required to sail a catamaran in Croatia, you check the list on our page “Acceptable licences in Croatia” . However, if you and your crew do not have a boat licence you can easily add a skipper or any other crew member.

Security Deposit for renting catamaran in Croatia

Similarly to renting a car, chartering a boat requires a security deposit when renting a catamaran in Croatia. The deposit, fully refundable after check-out, covers you and your fellow passengers against accidental damage and ensures that contractual obligations are met. The security deposit varies in value depending on the model and brand of the boat. It will be returned to you after the boat has been inspected and is deemed undamaged.

Insurance of a catamaran and payment insurance

We have partnered with WIENER INSURANCE GROUP to additionally insured all your payments send to us with Wire transfer and also credit card payments are fully insured when renting a catamaran in Croatia. By Croatia law, all catamarans and passangers are fully insured for the time of the charter.

Cancellation policy for chartering a catamaran in Croatia

Europe Yachts Charter Group offers a full refund for cancellations made within 24 hours of booking for a catamaran charter in Croatia. For cancellations made up to 7 days after the booking date, a 12% handling fee is retained. For bookings cancelled up to 30 days before the check-in date, a 50% refund of the total amount is applied. Cancellations made within less than 30 days of the check-in date are not eligible for refund. Please be aware that the conditions of our charter partners’ own policies apply. If you have further questions regarding our cancellation policy, please contact our customer support team.

A Transit Log is a variable payment when renting a catamaran in Croatia, which can include the following: bed linen, cleaning, on-board Internet connection, tourist tax and base marina fees. The details of the Transit Log differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner. Once you choose your boat, our team will be able to outline the specifics of the Transit Log associated with your booking.

Are there any other costs I should be aware of when renting a catamaran in Croatia?

There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your catamaran sailing holiday in Croatia. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight – the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re you like to sail or go with the motor.

Fuel est.: 250 – 350 € Mooring fees est.: 200 – 400 € Presuming that most of the nights will be on the anchor or mooring buoy. Some people will go entire week with only 150 € spent on mooring fees. It also depends on the weather. It is safer to be in marina if there is a storm. Food: 450 €+ (provisions for boat + skipper) Please note that this does not include dinners in restaurants. Meals in restaurants are 15 € for pizza and soft drinks, while full meals are 25-35 € per person.
