Time to update my review as Chef Juan has changed things and made them so much better! The food here now is outstanding! I'm working my way through the menu and have to recommend you do the same! Seriously I've tried almost all the apps and they are spectacular! I've had fish, salads, chicken and loved them all. He changes it up with very interesting specials and the service is as good as ever! Cannot recommend this place enough!

OK, this one is Stratford's best kept secret. Pootatuck Yacht Club allows non-members to come in for dinner and lunch Thurs-Sun. You can pay with a credit card and you can bring your own booze! This is easily the best high end food in Stratford, replacing Biaggio as my former favorite. The chef, Benny Mujollari has incredible talent and the wait staff is excellent. There is a set menu all the time and there are great items on there (Steak, Chicken, Fish, Pasta) and then there are the specials on a huge board brought to the table. These include everything from Stuffed Salmon, Ribeye, Veal, etc. The salad dressings are made on site and everything is super fresh and prepared perfectly. (Oh, you may be able to eat outside, depending on the weather!) There is simply no better restaurant in Stratford. Waterfront, casual, outside seating, bring your own wine/beer and fresh excellent food prepared by an amazing chef and brought to you by some of the nicest, efficient waitresses you will ever find! Please don't go here! I want it all to myself!

Benny's Restaurant at the Pootatuck Yacht Club is a secret treasure in Stratford, and you might just have to buy a member dinner, just to get in! It's BYOB and the food is quite good. The steaks, the veal dishes and fish dishes are all highly recommended. The fried calamari with hot peppers and Gorgonzola is a favorite. The river view is a great plus.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at Pootatuck Yacht Club. Considering it is closed for business. To bad, I was looking forward to checking it out. Apparently they might open again once they find a chef. LOL

If a neat casual fine meal is your quest, then you have found your place in the Pootatuck. Chef Benny has what it takes to put together a meal that will both impress and make you remember the time you have shared with your friends at this comfortable club.
