Unfortunately, it isn’t all fun and games for Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman has long since been known as one of Sydney, and indeed, one of Australia’s most favorite children, though her reputation took a battering in 2008 when she had a poor error in judgment. The actress has sparked anger because of the Hokulani. According to this article dated from 2008, from Independent , neighbors want Nicole to take the yacht away with her. Nicole once lived in a prestigious apartment building in Sydney, close to the harbor. This building is home to some of Australia’s leading celebrities. When she sold her apartment, she made the mistake of leaving behind the Hokulani. Her former neighbors were left furious, and who could blame them for the actress’ actions? She had left behind this $4.5 million yacht in the harbor for nearly a year, which contravened the by-laws which regulate life on the pier the Hokulani was moored to in Walsh Bay, which is one of Sydney’s rejuvenated success stories, and contains some of the cities most expensive and luxury homes.

The bylaws state very clearly the only people who can moor their boats and yachts at the marina which is adjacent to the property Nicole Kidman had once lived in, and some residents have event accused the local committee of showing favoritism towards the actress because they allowed the Hokulani to remain moored in the marina for a year. To the Australians, it was probably bad enough that Nicole’s starring role in the movie Australia, where she played an English aristocrat, who inherited a ranch was panned. What made it even worse was around the same time the Hokulani was moored to the marina after she had moved away, Aboriginal leaders condemned her for playing the didgeridoo, which has long since been played by men traditionally. So the last thing the actress needs is aggravation from her former neighbors, although from a certain point of view their condemnation wouldn’t be especially high when compared to the condemnation of the Aboriginal people of her home country.

Far from being ignorant of the bylaws, the Sydney star knew what she was doing. The reason she had left the Yacht moored at her former home was, as a spokesperson said, she intended to try and buy a property in the same area. It never happened. The spokesperson promised residents the Hokulani would be moved shortly, and it was, though not before its presence upset the local residents.

The superyacht is named Hokulani, the same Hawaiian name Kidman told InStyle Magazine in 2014 that her parents gave her at birth.
The boat features a distinctive champagne-colored hull and sleeps 12 guests and seven crew members, according to Imperial.
Kidman had an estimated net worth of $338 million Australian (or $259 million US) in 2017, according to the Australian Financial Review's 2017 Rich List , which ranked her the 197th richest Australian that year.

A superyacht reportedly once owned by actress Nicole Kidman is up for sale, according to yacht management firm Imperial .

The superyacht's price is being kept under wraps, however. Potential buyers will only see the price tag after submitting an application to Imperial.

The yacht shares the Hawaiian name Kidman told InStyle Magazine that her parents gave her at birth: "Hokulani." (Kidman was actually born on the Hawaiian island of Oahu but is Australian by nationality.) The actress (best known for her roles in the television drama "Big Little Lies" and the films "Moulin Rouge!" and "The Hours") is next set to star as news anchor Gretchen Carlson in "Bombshell," a film about Fox News, alongside Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly, Insider previously reported.

Kidman's last estimated net worth was $338 million Australian (or $259 million US), according to the Australian Financial Review's 2017 Rich List ; she was ranked the 197th richest Australian that year. While Hokulani's ownership hasn't been confirmed by either Kidman or Imperial, the Independent reported in 2008 that Kidman owned and subsequently abandoned the yacht (which was built by Palmer Johnson, designed by Nuvolari Lenard, and launched in 2007, according to Imperial ) in a Sydney marina when she moved out of a nearby apartment complex.

Despite being more than a decade old, Imperial says the 45.7-meter (or about 150-foot) yacht is still in "perfect condition," thanks to its seven-person crew.

Even the bridge looks luxurious.

Hokulani has five guest staterooms that can sleep up to 10 guests total. Each stateroom has its own ensuite bathroom.

There are two VIP cabins with double beds ...

... and a grand master suite with a king-sized bed, study area, and walk-in closet.

It also has a private, fold-out balcony.

Hokulani even features a hydraulically-powered tender garage to store jet skis that keep guests entertained while the yacht is anchored.

... or in the main salon during inclement weather.

The superyacht's other amenities include a sunbathing area and cinema room.

Despite its luxurious amenities, Kidman reportedly "abandoned" the superyacht in a Sydney marina after relocating to Tennessee with husband Keith Urban.

"A spokesman for Kidman told the Sydney Morning Herald that the boat had been left at the marina because she had contemplated buying another apartment in the same block, which did not happen," The Independent reported in 2008.

The Sunseeker Manhattan 74, or 74 Sport Yacht, is, as of 2018, owned by Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, which she has called Hokulani, according to Motorboat and Yachting . The yacht's name means 'heavenly star' and is said to be a nickname given to the 55-year-old actress by her parents to pay homage to her birthplace of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The star is perhaps most known for her roles in hit films including The Hours and Moulin Rouge, though it might be less known that she owns this impressive superyacht. The Manhattan 74 is described as "undeniably a Sunseeker" boasting luxurious interior designs and interesting features.

The yacht is ideal for socialising with guests. The vessel is split over three levels, including an upper level vantage point to take in the sea views. Inside, there is the owner's room, five guest suites, the captain's cabin and even has room to sleep up to eight crew members.

The vessel's design is sleek and modern and measures in at around 22.82m. There is enough space for an entertainment room as well as a few water toys.

It is also boasted as having high-tech features, including hydraulic drop-away cockpit doors that opens up the interior living space to invite the outside. There are comfortable seating and sunpads on both sides of the vessel to ensure a relaxed space for guests to chill out and soak in some rays.

Motorboat and Yachting reportedly said that the yacht is expected to cost in the region on £2.1 million. It seems the Nicole Kidman-owned superyacht is sure to turn heads wherever she visits.

This 88.5-foot vessel is a houseboat turned into a floating recording studio. Pink Floyd’s lead guitarist David Gilmour bought Astoria in 1986 and repurposed it to record albums. In some of Pink Floyd’s songs, you can hear the sound of boats and birds from the river.

The vessel was originally commissioned by music hall producer Fred Karno and designed to seat a 90-piece orchestra on the top. Astoria has three main cabins, a central saloon, a kitchen and bathroom. Interesting fact: The vessel has never sailed and is permanently moored on the River Thames.

28. The Pacha III

The yacht was originally commissioned by Walter Crooke from British shipbuilders Camper and Nicholsons and named the Arlette II. The 119-foot ship had numerous owners over its first 50 years. Princess Caroline and her late husband, boat racer Stefano Casiraghi, bought the yacht in 1990.

The name was created from the names of the couple’s three children, Pierre, Andrea and Charlotte. The boat’s Lamborghini engines enable it to reach speeds of 60 knots. The vessel can accommodate five people and two crew members. The boat’s name is unknown, but Proper Twelve is engraved below the ship’s throttle. McGregor also owns three Lamborghini cars.

Jeff Bezos’ new 417-foot yacht is still being finished in the Oceanco shipyards in the Netherlands. The company is a well-known Dutch builder that creates one-of-a-kind superyachts for wealthy and celebrity clients. Oceanco is experiencing rising demand for their vessels, and their shipyards are booked out.

Bezos’s superyacht will include a support yacht with a built-in helipad. The superyacht will have multiple decks, three large masts, 31,000 square feet of sails and will be the world’s largest sailing yacht when it is completed in 2022.

Sydney-born Kidman has long been the city's favourite daughter but her reputation has taken a battering in recent weeks. Her latest film, Australia, in which she plays an English aristocrat who inherits an outback cattle ranch, has been panned around the world. Last week, she was condemned by Aboriginal leaders for playing the didgeridoo – an instrument generally considered to be reserved for men – on a German chat show. Now comes the Melrose Place-style drama on her home turf.

The star, who still owns a waterside mansion in Sydney's affluent eastern suburbs, is apparently well aware that Hokulani is breaching regulations. A spokesman for Kidman told the Sydney Morning Herald that the boat had been left at the marina because she had contemplated buying another apartment in the same block, which did not happen.

The spokesman claimed the boat would be moved next week, and denied that Kidman was "trying to take advantage of the situation". "The [governing committee] would never do anything just because it's her," he said.

An adviser to the owners' corporation, Wally Paterson, agreed the yacht's continuing presence was a breach of bylaws but insisted he was "absolutely adamant everyone gets treated equally no matter who or what they are".

Pier 6/7 is home to, among others, Ryan Stokes, the son of the Australian media magnate Kerry Stokes, Paul Cave, who founded the hugely popular BridgeClimb over Sydney Harbour, and a glamorous former television news anchor, Mary Kostakidis. Kidman's fellow Hollywood star, Cate Blanchett, is co-artistic director (with her husband, Andrew Upton) of the nearby Sydney Theatre Company in Walsh Bay.

Ms Kidman, who recently had a baby daughter, Sunday Rose, with her husband, the country singer Keith Urban, lives mainly in Nashville. She jets into Sydney frequently to see family, and usually spends Christmas there but said recently that she would be staying in Nashville because she was upset by negative reviews of her role in Australia, directed by Baz Luhrmann. One friend was quoted in the Australian media as saying: "She's been so upset. It really has devastated her."

She bought the Sunseeker 74 back in 2004 for $4.5 M. She has not used it lately, however. She was photographed in the summer of 2007 on a day cruise with family and friends.

The renowned fashion designer and her husband Barry Dillar own EOS, one of the largest private yachts in the world. Since she used to be a real-life princess, the fashion designer is used to living like royalty.

Launched by the acclaimed yacht brand Lurssen, this incredible sailing yacht was stylish and simply beautiful, and it saw many lavish high-society gatherings. It used to be one of the longest yachts in the world at 305 feet in length. That’s before it caught fire outside of Norway back in 2012. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

5. Vajoliroja – Johnny Depp’s Yacht

If there’s been one celebrity that caused a lot of gossip in the last couple of months, it’s none other than Johnny Depp. But we’re not here to talk about that. His most prized possession, the Vajoliroja, is a modern superyacht that was built in Turkey. With 47 meters in length, or 154 feet, he spent his time sailing his favorite places.

The yacht was named after his family with his ex-wife, Vanessa Paradis, and his two kids, Lily Rose and Jack. In 2016, he sold it to J.K Rowlings, who also happened to be caught up in her shares of controversy in the last couple of years.

4. Octopus – Paul Allen’s Yacht

The self-made billionaire became one of the most famous people in the world thanks to his Microsoft involvement. In case you didn’t know, he’s the one, along with childhood friend Bill Gates, that founded the multibillion dollar corporation.

His superyacht named the Octopus features multiple game rooms, two submarines, a recording studio, a spa, and many other luxurious amenities. The two helipads make access from any location a lot easier. He spent lots of his free time aboard before his passing.

3. Eclipse – Roman Abramovich’s Yacht

With an estimated net worth of over 12 billion dollars, oligarch Abramovich is the owner of Norilsk Nickel, Millhouse LLC, Evraz, and football team Chelsea FC. That is until just a few weeks ago, when Todd Boehly took ownership . Still, he is one of the richest men in the world, and his favorite yacht, the Eclipse, is one of the biggest privately-owned yachts in the world.

It is 533 feet long, has two helipads, two swimming pools, and a mini-submarine. With 24 cabins, a few hot tubs, and a disco hall, he can invite numerous guests aboard for a good time.

2. Seven – David and Victoria Beckham’s Yacht

David Beckham is the new owner of this Riva Argo 90, which he named Seven, after his iconic football shirt number. The boat was constructed by Ferretti Engineering Department for naval architecture. Officina Italiana Design are responsible for the design of both the interior and exterior of the yacht. The MTU diesel engine allows it to go up to 30 knots.

It was launched in October 2021, and it has some pretty cool features. Among its most standout designs is the sun lounging spot on the foredeck. They also own The Seafair, which is nicknamed ‘The Sophisticated Lady”, for Victoria.

1. Topaz (or A+) – Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Yacht

The Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nayhan, owns one of the longest yachts to sail the waters. Mostly known as “Sheik Mansour”, he is the Manchester City owner, among many other holdings. At 482 feet long, or 147 meters, it is longer than some cruise ships. We are all curious to find out how the interior looks, but he’s a very private person, and no pictures are available.

So we are all left to speculate, but we can only imagine the luxurious amenities the yacht contains on-board. What we do know is that the yacht has its own cinema, swimming pools, on-deck jacuzzis, and its own helipad.

A superyacht reportedly once owned by actress Nicole Kidman has hit the market for an undisclosed price, according to yacht management firm Imperial .
The superyacht is named Hokulani, the same Hawaiian name Kidman told InStyle Magazine in 2014 that her parents gave her at birth.
The boat features a distinctive champagne-colored hull and sleeps 12 guests and seven crew members, according to Imperial.
Kidman had an estimated net worth of $338 million Australian (or $259 million US) in 2017, according to the Australian Financial Review's 2017 Rich List , which ranked her the 197th richest Australian that year.

The police were looking for evidence of tax fraud. An hour later, the cops left with some papers. In 2018, Cristiano had to pay a fine of 18.8 million euros and serve a short prison sentence (which got knocked down to probation).

Judging by the picture below, Mariah Carey’s Capri probably should have been named the “Coastguard” or “The Bigger Boat,” but that’s just me. Built by Lürssen Yachts in 2012, the Topaz is considered one of the largest in the world at 483 feet long. There's a gym, a conference room, a water sports center to chill with supermodels, and two helipads, which is better than what Jack (Leo) got in "Titanic".

Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie knew how to chill in style (when they were still together, that is). The ex-couple liked spending time with their children on The Ghost. It cost $200 million to build this giant vessel, which can reach speeds of up to 28 knots. The Rising Sun is worth double nowadays. Initially created for Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle Corporation, the super-yacht has hosted celebrities like Oprah, the Obamas, Tom Hanks, and Julia Roberts.

Nevertheless, the Lionheart has become famous for reasons that Green would rather keep to himself. As mentioned before, he’s planning to shut down his empire, leaving 19,000 employees to fend for themselves, while he takes time off indefinitely in tax-free Monaco.

iVenus (actually, it’s just Venus)

Steve Jobs ordered the creation of his super-yacht, never knowing that he would die before it was ever completed. His surviving family owns the luxurious ship now. No pictures have yet been released of its interior, so much of the ship still remains a mystery. The only thing anyone knows is that the computers onboard are all Macs. No surprise there.

The yacht was designed by Philippe Starck, who actually impounded the ship because Jobs’s heirs still owed him 3 million euros for his work. Fortunately, they reach a solution, and the 256-foot Venus sailed once more.

The Russian billionaire is the owner of the Chelsea Football Club and a truly remarkable boat. Named the Eclipse, it’s the second-biggest private yacht. The 538-foot vessel has hosted parties with guests like Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Salma Hayek, and many more A-list celebrities. It pays to be wealthy, am I right?

With 24 cabins, a mini-submarine, and a missile detection system, this 340-million-euro yacht eclipses the competition. Abramovich made his fortune in the steel and nickel industry. Worth $13 billion, he is quite able to pay the crew of 70 people it takes to operate the super-yacht and serve the guests.

The Edge of Cyan (Or Is It the Other Way Around?)

Cyan belongs to The Edge. Don’t forget that. The Edge certainly doesn’t want you to. It’s hard not to take it personally when people think that Bono is the only U2 band member who can splurge on a yacht. The Carters get a lot for their money: hot tub, pool, cinema, and the ability to entertain 12 guests. Even though the ship is enormous (weighing 961 gross tons), it can go up to 28 knots. Galactica Star is one of the fastest yachts in its class.

Michael Jordan’s Catch 23

Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players of all time, a shrewd businessman, and the current owner of the Charlotte Hornets. He is so competitive that he spends his retirement crushing other golfers on the golf course. You probably remember him from the movie "Space Jam."

Fond of sailing, he uses his favorite $80 million sportfish super-yacht to compete in fishing competitions as well. The name of his yacht shares the number of his jersey. It's also a play on words of the title of the novel "Catch-22". Being in a Catch-23 doesn't seem too bad.

J.K. And Depp’s Amphitrite (No, It’s Not A Magical Beast)

J.K. Rowling and Johnny Depp have more in common than the Fantastic Beasts franchise. They also owned the same yacht, albeit at different points in time. You could even say that Harry Potter's mother bought Jack Sparrow’s yacht for 20 million pounds.

The boat came with many features like saloons, jet skis, kayaks, five cabins with their own skylight, and a wine bar. In the end, J.K. sold the 156-foot-long houseboat for 7 million pounds less than what she paid for it. No worries. She’s still making tons of cash.

Nicolas Cage’s Sarita and his over-the-top lifestyle

Between 1996 and 2011, Cage reportedly went on a $150 million spending spree that included a dinosaur skull and shrunken pygmy heads, as well as a variety of luxury yachts. His favorite was a 126-foot super-yacht, called the Sarita, which could entertain 12 guests.

Elton John’s Rumored Ex-Yacht

There was a rumor that the Rocketman owned the Wabi-Sabi. Whoever the owner was, the super-yacht was sold for $25.9 million. The sea vessel included a large plasma-screen television, sofas, a barbecue area, and a large dining room table that can serve 12 guests.

The Wabi-Sabi also had a swimming platform, jacuzzi, air conditioning, and underwater lighting, as well as room for 11 crew members to make sailing as smooth as possible.
