Our brand new 35ft Deluxe Power Catamaran was custom designed for touring Na Pali Coast and was built with our guests in mind. She’s the perfect size for Na Pali; large enough to handle the seas and keep you comfortable, and small enough to fit into the various sea caves when conditions permit. She’s also the only boat in our fleet that has a marine head (a teeny tiny restroom) if a true emergency situation arises. For those seeking an adventure ride but don’t want to sacrifice comfort; this modern cutting edge vessel, won’t let you down.

Carefully select a tour below that has bullet points that agree with your priorities. In general, expect MUCH calmer seas in the morning with greater marine life encounter odds. In the afternoon, the sea state gets a lot more “exciting” with increased winds, but the pay off is seeing Na Pali Coast light up as the sun positions itself perfectly to showcase Na Pali’s beauty. Experience the nā pali coast on a boat tour.

Witness the incredible beauty of Kauai on the Nā Pali Coast. The nai’a 🐬 (dolphins and porpoises) cruise along the catamaran, so have your camera ready for amazing pictures! Captain Lani and the crew share Hawaiian culture and history along the way.

As we travel up north towards Nā Pali, you see the island of Niihau in the distance, approximately 17 miles away. It appears just a stone’s throw away.

Get up close and personal with majestic cliffs, sea caves, and a cascading waterfall. Then, we stop at a pristine, protected reef, Nu’alolo Kai, to swim and snorkel. At one time, it was an active, productive Hawaiian fishing village. You may see the honu 🐢 (sea turtles) swimming in their own environment.

Snorkel gear and instructions are provided. Foam noodles are also available.

A deli-style lunch is available ; build your own sandwich of turkey, ham, two types of cheeses, two types of bread, lettuce, and tomatoes. For dessert, there is fresh pineapple and vanilla cinnamon cake. Sodas and juices are also available.

• Make sure to bring a water bottle or a Hydro Flax with water! Only metal water bottles allowed to promote environmentalism and protect the oceans.
• Wear comfortable clothing — swimwear, cover-up, shorts, and a t-shirt. Protect yourself from the sun. Wear a long sleeve t-shirt and a hat or visor.
• Bring a bag or backpack with a towel and a camera.
• Wear comfortable footwear, slippers, or sandals. You will be barefoot on board. If you need to wear footwear, wear your own aqua shoes. However, do not walk down with the aqua shoes as they will gather the red dirt. Red dirt and seawater make for red paste — not good for Catamaran Kahanu.

Your safety is our priority. Captain Lani and the crew are experienced watermen — we guarantee your comfort, enjoyment, and satisfaction. During winter months, ocean conditions can be rough in the Nā Pali Coast. If needed, Captain Lani will go to calmer waters.

No better way to start your day in paradise!

The Morning Na Pali Tour starts with check-in at 6:30- 7:00 a.m. It may be a little cooler than our afternoon tour, so bring a windbreaker just in case. This Na Pali Coast snorkel tour will showcase the beauty of Kauai, as well as its Hawaiian marine life. 

We depart Hanalei Bay around 7:30 a.m. and return approximately 4 hours later at around 11:30 a.m. Snorkel equipment and floatation devices are provided, as well as a waterproof dry-bag.

Please note that we do not guarantee snorkeling or entrance into sea caves. Our goal is always to provide the best tour possible, given the day’s weather and ocean conditions. Safety is priority #1 always.

We are excited to announce that we will be operating boat tours along the stunning Na Pali Coast throughout the late fall and winter of 2024! During our “off-season,” we are pleased to offer a modified tour experience that promises an unforgettable adventure! While our winter tours will be 3 hours long, as opposed to our standard 4-hour tours during peak season, the focus will be on captivating sightseeing and wildlife viewing along the Na Pali Coast. Please note that lunch is not provided, as we aim to reduce waste in the event of a tour cancellation. Snorkeling and sea cave exploration are less likely during the winter months, but our captains will always monitor the conditions and may have opportunities to incorporate these activities if the weather permits. Your safety is our priority, and you can rest assured that our tours will be conducted in the safest and most responsible manner possible. Our seasoned captains and crew members are committed to ensuring your well-being at all times, and we will not hesitate to cancel any tour if the conditions are deemed unsuitable. We warmly invite you to explore and book your winter adventure with us. Kauai, Hawaï - S’y rendre à partir du Canada

Considérant qu’Honolulu est le point d’entrée principal dans l’archipel aux eaux turquoise, j’ai personnellement volé avec Air Canada en faisant escale à Vancouver (YVR) en partant de Montréal (YUL), pour finalement prendre un court vol sur les ailes d’ Hawaiian Airlines jusqu’à Kauai (aéroport de Lihue).

Explorer les routes sinueuses jusqu’à l’imposant waimea canyon.

Explorer la route sinueuse qui mène au Waimea Canyon est une aventure inoubliable! Commencez par un arrêt au Japanese Grandma’s Cafe pour déguster les meilleurs sushis de l’île; une expérience culinaire qui ravira vos papilles. Ensuite, faites une pause à la Red Dirt Waterfall pour avoir une vue imprenable sur la côte sud.

Le clou du spectacle est évidemment le Waimea Canyon Lookout , d’où vous pourrez contempler la merveille géologique que l’on surnomme le «Grand Canyon du Pacifique». Avec ses falaises colorées et ses panoramas à couper le souffle, vous en prendrez plein la vue! Si vous avez encore soif d’aventure, poussez jusqu’au Kalalau Lookout pour une vue spectaculaire sur une partie de la Na Pali Coast, un autre paysage grandiose qui ne manquera pas de vous émerveiller.

Avec cette excursion au canyon de Waimea et au parc national de Kōkeʻe , vous explorerez les merveilles du nord-ouest de Kauai.

Observer le soleil se coucher au Hideaway Lookout

C’est en discutant avec mon hôte Airbnb que j’ai obtenu ce petit truc sympathique: l’un des meilleurs endroits pour observer le soleil se coucher se nomme Hideaway Lookout . Vous pourriez aller stationner votre voiture au Hideaway Pizza Pub à quelques minutes à pied et venir vous détendre au plus intime des belvédères. Une fois le spectacle terminé, retournez prendre une bouchée au restaurant où vous vous étiez stationnés. Le tour est joué pour une superbe soirée!

Profiter de tout ce que Tunnels Beach a à offrir!

Tunnels Beach est une véritable splendeur naturelle! Ici, vous pourrez nager aux côtés des tortues de mer gracieuses et observer des phoques se prélassant sur le rivage. La plage offre également une vue imprenable sur le début de la Na Pali Coast. Enfin, la plongée en apnée est particulièrement impressionnante à Tunnels Beach, car on peut observer les fameux « tunnels » formés par la lave sous l’eau, révélant un monde sous-marin fascinant et complètement unique! Pour moi, de toutes les îles, il s’agit de ma plage favorite.

Découvrir des plages désertes et pourtant splendides!

Ce qui est absolument déconcertant, et réjouissant, sur l’île de Kauai est le fait que plusieurs plages s’étendent sur des kilomètres, et que certaines sont presque désertes! C’est le cas de Secret Beach et de Larsen’s Beach. Ces deux plages peuvent valoir le détour si vous êtes fatigués des plages bondées du sud de l’île.

Suivre les traces du Capitaine Jack Sparrow à Makauwahi Cave

Kauai, avec ses paysages à couper le souffle, a servi de lieu de tournage pour de nombreux films hollywoodiens, dont « Pirates des Caraïbes 4 ». Les amateurs de cinéma pourront suivre les traces du célèbre Capitaine Jack Sparrow en visitant la Makauwahi Cave . Une courte randonnée vous permettra de longer la plage jusqu’à une grotte époustouflante! Explorer cette réserve naturelle, c’est plonger dans l’univers d’un grand classique du cinéma tout en se baladant dans un décor cinématographique en soi.

Découvrir le Poipu Beach Park

Sur la côte sud de Kauai, Poipu Beach Park est l’endroit idéal pour flâner et se baigner. Cette magnifique plage de sable fin est un véritable paradis, souvent fréquentée par des tortues de mer que vous pourrez observer de près. Après une journée de détente, régalez-vous d’un repas au Brennecke’s Beach Boiler , où vous pourrez profiter d’une vue imprenable sur la mer.

S’isoler dans les Queen’s Bath (à vos risques)

Queen’s Bath consiste en diverses formations naturelles fascinantes, constituées de crevasses et de trous dans les rochers qui se remplissent d’eau à marée basse. À chaque vague qui se fracasse sur le littoral, l’eau est projetée dans ces cavités, créant des « bains » naturels uniques. La randonnée de 15 minutes pour y accéder est abrupte et peut être glissante, et un panneau avertit les visiteurs qu’ils s’y aventurent à leurs risques et périls. Malgré le chemin pentu, Queen’s Bath offre une expérience extraordinaire et, littéralement, une connexion directe avec la puissance de la nature.

S’aventurer en croisière sur la Na Pali Coast

La Na Pali Coast est le grand incontournable de Kauai, célèbre pour ses falaises vertigineuses et ses vallées luxuriantes. Plusieurs options s’offrent à vous pour profiter de l’immensité de cette côte magnifique, notamment la randonnée et les excursions en hélicoptère ou à bord d’un petit avion.

N’hésitez pas à survoler la Na Pali Coast et l’ensemble de Kauai afin d’admirer les panoramas époustouflants de l’île.

Personnellement, j’ai opté pour une excursion en catamaran, une expérience certes coûteuse – entre 400 et 500 dollars par personne – mais véritablement mémorable. Naviguer le long de la Na Pali Coast en catamaran offre une perspective unique sur cette merveille naturelle, avec des vues imprenables sur les formations rocheuses, les cascades et la faune marine, des dauphins en l’occurrence!

Vous pourriez choisir cette excursion sur la Na Pali Coast avec plongée en apnée au départ de Port Allen, à bord d’un catamaran, ou vous évader avec cette excursion en voilier au coucher du soleil sur la Na Pali Coast avec dîner.

Profiter de l’ambiance de Princeville et d’Hanalei

Pour profiter pleinement de l’ambiance de Kauai, ne manquez pas de visiter Hanalei et Princeville. Ces charmantes localités regorgent de marchés vendant des produits locaux, parfaits pour découvrir les saveurs et l’artisanat de l’île. La plage de Hanalei est particulièrement fantastique au coucher du soleil, offrant des vues à couper le souffle et une atmosphère sereine. Pour les amateurs de café, un arrêt au Trilogy Coffee s’impose : c’est l’un des meilleurs de l’île!

Visiter l’insolite Hindu Monastery de Kauai

Le Monastère hindou de Kauai est probablement la visite la plus insolite que j’ai pu y faire. Niché dans un cadre paisible et verdoyant, ce lieu sacré offre une expérience spirituelle unique et apaisante. En vous promenant dans ses jardins luxuriants et en admirant l’architecture des lieux, une visite au Monastère hindou de Kauai est une escapade mémorable, et bien loin des sentiers battus!

Vous pourriez aussi tenter une aventure en tyrolienne à Kauai , et profiter d’un dîner buffet avec open bar et spectacle Luau Kalamaku .

Kauai, Hawaï - Où séjourner avec des points?

Dormir dans un hôtel dans l’archipel, peu importe l’île visitée et la saison, s’avère assez cher!

Pour ma part, ayant déjà utilisé mes points et mon certificat de nuit gratuite obtenu avec ma carte Marriott Bonvoy MD American Express MD * , j’ai opté pour loger dans deux petits appartements dénichés sur la plateforme AirBnb .

Tous deux étaient situés à Princeville, qui fut mon quartier général pour la durée de mon voyage! Cela dit, les complexes hôteliers se situent davantage près de Poipu et de Lihue et, que ce soit en termes de points ou d’argent, il faut être à l’affût des promotions pour obtenir les meilleurs prix, car votre séjour pourrait être très coûteux.

Si je devais choisir une île dans l’archipel hawaïen, ce serait sans hésitation Kauai pour son côté luxuriant et sa beauté sans égal. Tunnels Beach a été un véritable coup de cœur avec ses paysages sous-marins fascinants et son cadre idyllique. Aussi, les randonnées à travers les paysages époustouflants de Kauai sont tout simplement éblouissantes, offrant des vues imprenables et une immersion totale. Enfin, l’ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante de l’île ajoute une dimension supplémentaire à cette expérience unique, faisant de Kauai une destination incontournable.
