Luxury yacht LIND ( ex APRIL, BELLE AIMEE, BEL ABRI) is a 52m displacement Amels Limited Editions 171 superyacht which was designed by Tim Heywood. Launched in 2010, APRIL underwent an extensive refit in 2013 including an interior upgrade and the addition of a full onboard dive centre with wet lab. She has received another refit in 2020. Built by Amels with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, her interior design was created by Laura Sessa in conjunction with the owner. She can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins.

The yacht’s owner decided to increase the size of his suite by eliminating the main-deck starboard stateroom found aboard other 171’s. The master stateroom of motor yacht LIND consists of a full-beam forward cabin on the main deck with a king-size bed, private office and living room, separate dressing room and large en-suite with shower, tub and his and hers sink.
When British yacht designer Tim Heywood drew the sleek lines of LIND, he took his inspiration from the sweeping curves of Italian sports car design of the 1930s. “I aimed to achieve a look that I would describe as ‘athletically feminine’,” he said. “Also, I incorporated some of the styling features that normally you’d only find on much larger yachts. I wanted the AMELS 171 to feel like a very grand yacht. For example, it has a fabulous 20-meter sun deck, which would not look out of place on a 90-meter yacht.”
LIND offers generous spaces for outdoor entertainment on 3 deck levels. The alfresco areas have been emphasized on the request of the owner, featuring a larger than usual Spa Pool on the sun-deck, which is protected by a windscreen. Amongst the many personal touches to luxury yacht LIND, there is also a massive projection screen on the sundeck, where guests may enjoy many movies from the Kaleidoscope server while sipping a cool cocktail from the full wet bar. The entire sundeck can be covered with Biminis for added comfort if requested.

The interior of this Amels superyacht LIND was designed by Laura Sessa who thematically tied some of the interiors to the outdoors, particularly the bridge-deck lounge by selecting white and blue fabrics. “Each deck highlights a different type of wood, such as maple, walnut and sycamore,” explained Sessa. “For example Maple is featured on the main deck and Zebrano on the bridge deck, with the dark wood Sucupira running as a common theme throughout the whole interior. I find that on yachts of this size that the bridge deck is where the owner tends to spend the majority of his time, where he has breakfast with the family, and so we have white and blue colours in the fabrics to maintain that connection with the sea outside.”
The 52.3m Dutch built LIND yacht can reach a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of around 13 knots giving a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles.
Yacht Accommodation
The master stateroom is on the main deck forward and full beam of the yacht, space boasts a king-size bed, large plush sofa, private office and living room, dressing room, en-suite with his and hers sinks, tub and shower and serene neutral décor. A further 4 cabins are on the lower deck. Two guest cabins feature queen size beds, vanities, private dressing rooms and en-suite facilities with showers. One cabin offers twin side by side beds with en-suite and shower and a further cabin offers a twin bed convertible to a double with en-suite and shower. Each cabin has a warm tailored feel featuring a casual yet elegant ambience.

 52m Amels motor yacht Lind finds new ownerThe 52.3 metre Amels motor yacht Lind has been sold with Christian Bakewell of Burgess acting for both the seller and buyer. Built in steel and aluminium to a design by Tim Heywood , Lind was delivered in 2010 as the sixth model in the successful Amels 171 series. She has been well-maintained throughout her life by her longstanding crew and underwent an extensive refit and 10-year Lloyd's class survey in May 2020. Ascending from the swim platform to the main deck via twin staircases, guests are greeted by banquette seating and coffee tables before stepping into the main saloon through sliding glass doors. A large, L-shaped sofa takes centre stage with a dining table forward and a staircase to starboard that leads to the lower deck guest accommodation. An interior by Laura Sessa sleeps a total of 11 guests in five en suite cabins, comprising a full-beam master suite, three doubles and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth. A further five cabins sleep a crew of 13. Lind has a warm and natural palette of colour, pairing light and dark glossy woods with grey and beige soft furnishings. This is also reflected throughout her exterior, only this time with added pops of orange and bright blue. Lind has a large sun deck concealed by curvy raised bulwarks that swell up alongside the mast arch to create an area that is shaded and protected from the wind by glass doors. With a generous-sized pool and sun pads forward, a bar in the centre and sun loungers aft, this deck provides the full range of outdoor relaxation. The bridge deck, on the other hand, has full walk-around side decks that connect the Portuguese deck that wraps around the bridge to a secondary open-air entertainment area aft. Twin 1,408hp MTU diesel engines give Lind a top speed of 15.5 knots, a cruising speed of 13 knots and a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles.
