Activity Overview

The Tunica Queen Riverboat is a sightseeing and dinner boat cruise styled after the historic boats that used to ply down the Mississippi River. It sails on weekends (Friday-Sunday) from Robinsonville, Mississippi, about a 45 minute drive from Memphis, Tennessee.

Things to Do

• Do a sightseeing cruise - the tour takes 1 1/2 hours through the river, while history is being provided by the staff on board. Food and drinks can be bought on board (for a fee), and music is not live as compared to the dinner cruise.
• Take the dinner cruise - the dinner and the cruise take 2 hours, and leaves the dock at 7pm. If you want to catch the sunset, best to do so during early April, when the sun tends to be out longer. Best if you can go during summer although it can get really hot in Mississippi at this time.
• There is live music on board and the menu is pretty much fixed so if you have a specific diet, best to consult their website for more information.
• Charter the boat for a group event - a family reunion? Check.

Tunica Queen Riverboat Insider Tips

• Sit at the top deck of the boat for the best views, however the heat can get pretty overbearing and you may need to relocate to the bottom deck for some shade.
• Without much room to explore, kids may get a bit antsy on a boat so try to find ways to keep them preoccupied with either history or a mini game to keep their attention.
• The boat would try to sell you photos on the board - but you shouldn't feel obliged to get them!

Great short cruise for family

Took the kids and their friends on this short tour that goes up and down the Mississippi River . Nice view up on top deck. Interesting information over loudspeaker as you cruise on the great muddy. ...

Disappointed

We were trying to buy tickets on line and found it difficult. When we arrived in Tunica we were told it was closed down. Done say flooding of access road and we did see the road blocked off. Too bad...

Horrible visit to Clarksdale/Tunica

The Tunica RiverQueen is really nice-sized, comfortable, and the ride is very interesting. I love rivers and truly enjoyed being able to ride-the-Mississippi! Really glad to have the opportunity!

Memphis-style Pulled Pork BBQ, Marinated Grilled Chicken Breast, Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese, House Salad, Buns and Dessert. Complimentary tea and water. All Dinner & Music Cruises have the same menu. We do not offer substitutions. This is a one-trip meal served by our staff behind the food service area due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Disclaimer: We run our Dinner Cruises on two different boats with two different layouts. Please let us know if you are handicap so we can recommend the boat that has the dining area on the first floor (Island Queen) before booking at 901-527-2628. If you cannot select Island Queen boat upon booking, it is most likely not available. You must also mark “handicap acccessible seating” upon checkout to ensure we assign you proper seating arrangements. Dinner Cruises typically sell out at least a week in advance. All tickets must be paid for at the time of reservation, in full.

Boarding Location: 45 S. Riverside Drive Memphis, TN 38103

Parking is not on site.  The closest parking to our boarding location is  ACROSS THE STREET  from 119 N Riverside Drive Memphis, TN 38103. GPS will bring you to the TN Welcome Center but  DO NOT PARK THERE . You will see a “Riverboat Parking Sign” at the entrance of the fenced in lot directly across the street from the Welcome Center. This is a paid parking lot. To park here you will use the instructions on the signs throughout the parking lot to pay on the parking app or you may pay at the kiosk. We do not own this lot.  Once you park you will take the sidewalk South towards the boats. You will pass the River Garden Park on the left before you will be able to physically see the boats on the river. The boats are located at the intersection of Riverside & Monroe. You will see the ramp that goes into the Cobblestone Landing at the top of the hill at Riverside & Monroe where the metal gate is. THIS IS A 8-10 MINUTE WALK. If you have any guests who require assistance due to a disability or handicap, please drop them off at the boarding location BEFORE parking. You may drive down the cobblestones to the ramp for easier access. Please be mindful of not blocking the walkway to get onto the dock while doing so. This is ONLY for drop off purposes.

There is no dress code but most our of guests dress casually – semi-formal.

We do not offer group discounts. If you are booking a large group by individually booking tickets, please make sure you but put the name of the group or party you would like to sit with in the box during your checkout process. It reads: “Would you like to sit with another group or party?” The group/party name needs to be the same in all individual reservations. If you do not list the other parties name, you will not be sat together as we have no way in knowing two individual bookings know each other and we do make assigned seating arrangements in advance.

If you are celebrating a Birthday, you may bring a cake or cupcakes on board. Please do not bring candles or sparklers. We also ask that you bring the proper utensils and/or plates to accommodate this yourselves.

Tunica is a Mississippi River cruise port and town in Mississippi USA (Tunica County) with population around 1,000 (county population around 10,000). Tunica is located close to the Mississippi-Tennessee border, and just ~20 mi (30 km) southwest of Memphis TN .

As cruise port, Tunica MS is included in the regular schedule of one of the USA's largest river cruise companies - AQV-American Queen Voyages/fka AQSC-American Queen Steamboat Company .

This 8-day Lower Mississippi "Cruise and Land Tour" itinerary AQV/AQSC introduced in 2019 on the paddle-wheelers American Queen (1995-built, departures Sept 22, Oct 6 and 20, Nov 17) and American Duchess (2017-built, departures Sept 29, Oct 13 and 27, Nov 10). The voyage included visiting either Greenville or Tunica, and is priced from US$3000 per person. All voyages are inclusive of 1-night pre-cruise hotel and land tours (hop-on/hop-off bus travel from all river ports).

On cruise shore excursions (bus tours from Tunica) is visited the Blues Visitor Center and Museum (in Tunica Resorts) displaying guitars used by famous musicians.

The county was established in 1840 (~30% of its population being slaves) and initially developed an agricultural economy (mainly cotton plantations and livestock farms).

In the 1990s, the town developed a casino gambling economy. Outside Tunica (town proper) were built several large casino resorts employing many of the residents. The gaming resorts are grouped near the river, in Mhoon Landing (now North Tunica) and in Robinsonville (now Tunica Resorts, approx 10 mi / 16 km to the north of downtown).

Today, Tunica MS is the USA's 3rd-largest casino gambling region - after Las Vegas (Nevada) and Atlantic City (New Jersey).
