The Club's History
The proposal was made to name the club "The Bum Jungle Yacht Club", but since "Sandpoint Sailing Association" was on the existing checking account and the beginnings of bylaws, "Sandpoint Sailing Association" won out. Terry Jensen suggested, and everyone agreed that number 1 priority should be FUN! Officers elected were: Thor Seaborg.
Member Benefits
Free burgers and barbeques. Enjoy supervised use of the club's fleet of 14 ft sailboats and Capri 18. Support lobbying the city and others for legislation to advance the sport of sailing in Sandpoint. Help meet the many costs of running a sailing club. Buying timers, marks, anchors, etc. Maintenance and operation of the Committee boat.
Location
The Windbag Marina is owned and operated by the city of Sandpoint. The gathering point for Skippers Meetings, Classes and other club activities is at Fred's deck.
