The Company's owners are Bruce Leggatt and Neil Cameron, who together purchased Gulf Group Marine Brokers, a well known Auckland boat brokerage in 2003 and have since expanded to include 11 branches in New Zealand and an office in Fiji.

We have comprehensive listings and photos of a large range of yachts, launches, commercial vessels and marina berths available for sale throughout New Zealand, any of which can be emailed to you upon request.   

We also offer very competitive marine insurance rates, finance, written valuations and vessel appraisals.   

Sales berths are available to vendors and are located at our Auckland branches including a hardstand in Whangarei to display vessels.

General Advertising

Every month the Gulf Group creates full page adverts to appear in major boating magazines. Weekends, a selection of boats are advertised in our newspapers, which also receives national & international exposure.

Our Web Page is constantly being developed and changed. Service Listings are being given exposure to millions of Internet users worldwide.

Specific Marketing Programs

For a more personalised marketing program for your boat (including auctions and tenders), discuss this with our Brokers, who can assist you with the options we have available.

The Gulf Group has offices in major marina complexes, home to over 5000 boats. Photographs, wall listings, our internal database and the availability of our sales berths, ensure your boat is being given constant exposure.

Affiliations

Working with other Marine Brokerages nationally and internationally, together with other marine service industries, ensures you can be provided with the knowledge that the sale or purchase of your boat is successful.

We operate a comprehensive database of vessel listings. We have affiliations with other Marine Brokerages nationally and internationally. If you are looking for a specific type of vessel, we will search for the vessel you require.

The Gulf Group can assist with the process of negotiations, sea trials, and surveys. Our Brokers will complete all the paperwork that is required when purchasing your boat and assist you with any other Marine services you may require.

General Listing

The General Listing allows the boat owner to register with us the sale of their vessel. In some cases the owner prefers to list with other brokerages whilst also being listed with ourselves. Commitment to national and local advertising will be limited, which results in less exposure for your boat. General Listings are registered on our in-house database, which is searched when a purchaser has made a specific request for that type of vessel. We will also complete a free appraisal. A summary of your boat details will be available on our Web site. Wall listings, together with photographs will be distributed to all our offices.

Sole Agency listing

The Sole Agency Listing ensures premier promotion by the Gulf Group. You have an agreed marketing campaign for your vessel. Your vessel will be given detailed exposure at our eleven branches plus major national and local boating magazines and newspapers. Your boat specification and photographs will be advertised on the Gulf Group Internet pages giving international exposure.

The Gulf Group can also Auction or Tender your boat. Contact Gulf Group to find out the total service package offered under the Service Listing.

Sales Berths

We have sales berths available .If you feel your boat is not easily accessible to purchasers or not in a position for constant exposure, the sales berths are available as part of our overall service. Please discuss your requirements when listing as space is always in high demand.

Gulf Group has a wide selection of marina berths listed for sale plus information pertaining to their individual marina licences. Please contact us, whether buying or selling, and we will gladly discuss details with you.

By way of background, my business interests include controlling stakes in 3 publicly traded companies which operate vessels in the 500 to 5000dwt range. On average, one new vessel a year would be added to the fleet. As a result, I have access to in-house marine architects, engineers and construction supervisors. Consequently, when I decided to build my first large motor yacht, I did not feel I needed the services of a company like Moran Yacht & Ship.
