The island is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and it's citizens are Dutch Citizens. The whole island has elements of the Dutch culture giving it a different vibe to that of most of the other islands of the Caribbean. The capital Oranjestad itself has masses to see and experience.

Oranjestad is both the capital city, and the largest city of Aruba. The population is around 35,000.

The City is also the center of nightlife in the country, with Casinos, Top restaurants, Cabaret and Dancing. The shopping consists of a mixture of upscale stores and street vendors.

Oranjestad has a variety of shopping facilities. Places to visit include Fort Zoutman, the oldest structure on the island, and St Anne's Cathedral.

Fort Zoutman

Fort Zoutman was built in 1776 by the Dutch army who designed it as a fortification. It was completed in 1798 and was armed with four cannons. In those days it was on the shoreline, but the surrounding area was commercialized. In 1859 it was converted into a prison and many gun emplacements were removed to make way for cells. The current walls were built as late as 1936.

William III Tower

This was added to the fort in 1866 as a lighthouse and bell tower., The fort and tower were renovated and in 1983 reopened as the Historical Museum of Aruba.

If you want to get away from the coastline for a while and head inland you will find excursions from Oranjestad to visit Hooiberg, which is a mountain located at the center of the island. The mountain is 541 foot high and on a clear day you can see as far as Venezuela.

Bon dia! My name is Celestico (you can call me Tico). I was born in Curacao and I’ve lived in Aruba for 25 years. The tour industry is my passion and livelihood and my goal is to provide you with personalized, exceptional service. 

I’ve worked for various water sports and ATV/UTV tour companies on the island for over 20+ years and I am extremely knowledgeable about the boating industry, snorkeling, and the island in general. Was in Aruba for a week and decided to do the morning snorkel cruise with jolly pirates. It was a highlight of our trip and very much recommend them. The trip went to 3 spots that were all beautiful. They offered full equipment and open bar as well. The food that was served was delicious. Crew was funny and very nice. We will be back with jolly pirates next time we come to Aruba.

We sailed with jolly pirates yesterday as a family of 10 with 3 little ones. I cannot say enough how great the crew was! The snorkeling sites were great and the lunch was delicious! I would recommend this excursion to anyone! We will do this everytime we visit Aruba!!! 10 out of 10!!!!

We had a BLAST on the trip. When we got back to the hotel pool to meet up with everyone that had to work, or was too "busy" or nervous to go with us were so jealous. We had so much fun. We did the rope swing, snorkeled everywhere, and loved every minute of it. On trips like this you think lunch, ok, cold meat sandwich. Heck no! The BBQ lunch was perfect, plenty, and the bar tenders took great care of us too.

We had so much fun doing the morning snorkel. Open bar, food was good, and the snorkeling and jumping off the ship was amazing! In fact, we loved it so much we did the sunset cruise the following day! It was a great time! The staff were friendly, funny and extremely helpful!

Amazing time on board, crew was hilarious and very polite. My friends and I went on twice for the morning and sunset cruise. Snorkeling was gorgeous the shipwreck was beyond crazing to see. Drinks fast and served in style. The crew member took kids on there back to rope swing doing flips and also dancing with everyone. Great music great time would recommend for groups of friends or for the family!

Absolutely wonderful day of fun in the sun!! We will definitely return when we come back to the happy island!! The crew, the food, the snorkeling, the rope swing were awesome but the Pirates Poison was the best!!

We went on this cruise with our wedding group. Fantastic morning cruise. Snorkeling, lunch, swinging from the rope into the water. Well worth the money. Would definately do this again!

What an awesome morning! A must do excursion while in Aruba! Starts out with a great ride to the Antilles wreck. Then two more 25-30 minute stops for more snorkeling. Saw thousands of super cool fish in easy to see areas. Then rope swing and food. Easy day for the whole family. Big ship to cruise smoothly in. Very safe for the whole family. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Reef-safe sunscreen is required by law in most Caribbean islands. Be aware that just because it says “reef-safe” doesn’t mean it is! Check the reef-safe.org guide to be sure you’re buying sunscreen that will protect the beautiful Caribbean coral reefs. Rain or shine, don’t forget your sunscreen!

🤿Snorkel Gear!

Some of these tours include jumping into coral reefs and warm clear waters! They usually include snorkeling gear , but sometimes the provided gear just doesn’t fit me the right way.

Plus, there are so many incredible snorkeling spots in Aruba , like Arashi and Mangel Halto – you’ll want your own gear to explore under the sea all around the island.

One of my fun traveling friends turned me on to Cressi’s snorkeling gear a while ago. I’ve snorkeled in Turks and Caicos , Aruba , Grand Cayman , and other Caribbean islands and this gear always pulls through.

🤢 Sea Bands or Dramamine

If you’re anything like me, you’ll want sea bands or some motion sickness relief. Dramamine Non-Drowsy with Natural Ginger is my go-to for planes, jeeps , and boats. If you catch a day when the waters are rough, it can easily ruin your snorkeling experience.

Phones have great built-in cameras these days, a GoPro can be really helpful for recording memories without having to worry about your phone all day! I recently invested in a GoPro 10 and it has been a game-changer for making memories.

I waited a long time to get my GoPro and now I regret that I didn’t have it for all my adventures before! I don’t use it professionally, just personally. It captures great videos and photos and its so easy to travel with!

🌊Floating Waterproof Phone Case

If you don’t want to commit to a GoPro, a waterproof and floating phone case will do the trick! I love being able to capture memories on land and in the water! I didn’t want to bring a good camera on my Stingray City tour in Grand Cayman , so I used this, and it worked great.

☁️ Sand Cloud Quick Dry Towel

I don’t go to any beach without my Turkish quick dry towe l. You’ve likely heard about them from Shark Tank a long time ago. I HATE sand. So, a towel that dries quickly and shakes the sand out easily is the towel for me.

Hi everyone, just here to convince you to book with Jesus, and this is coming from someone who is always skeptical about making bookings. I honestly do not think the pictures do the yacht justice. I went there for my 25th birthday with my girls. They had the best time, I had the best time. The views were absolutely astonishing. I got to do snorkeling with Jesus' partner who assisted me and two of my other friends I want you to note that I do not know how to swim. Jesus also brought food which I must say tasted amazing, proper seasoning and all! Overall 10/10!

Guilhem and his brother were incredible hosts! We had a wonderful time, this has been the highlight of our family vacation, and we highly recommend this for anyone looking for a private boat cruise. The boat was impeccable, Guilhem was very communicative & they did a great job helping our older family members get around the boat. Thank you!!

I did a sunset cruise for my 30th birthday with 12 of my friends and cannot recommend this enough! Colin and his crew were AMAZING!!! We had special birthday decorations and even a cake! It was so so sweet. The boat is beautiful just like the pictures. We had a lovely view of the sunset and coastlines of Aruba. They cooked us a delicious dinner and we danced the night away to our own music. We even got to bring the leftover drinks and food with us. Absolutely worth it to have a private cruise if you have a bigger group!

Great communication from the start! Sam was nice enough to pick us up from a different pier only a 10min beach walk from our hotel vs from the main marina which was 25 min drive away. Boat was stocked with 3 bags of ice, water, sodas in the cooler. He let us play our own music and was very flexible as we mostly wanted to get to bluer water and anchor for deep water swims. Highly recommend! Thanks Sam

We had a blast for my birthday, and it was such an enjoyable experience ! Guilhem and his daughter were so attentive and made sure every detail was perfect. They really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time! Will def. be booking with them again next time I’m back in Aruba . 💜

Honestly, I don’t think the pics do this boat enough justice - It is gorgeous and large! Guilhem and his daughter, D were the most hospitable people we’ve encountered during our time here. We (party of 5 women) are here for a bachelorette party and Guilhem welcomed us with open arms, fresh drinks, snacks and his daughter decorated the boat beautifully for the bride to be. They also made her the cutest cake ever that was perfect for a bach party! Upon meeting us he personally greeted and shook hands with each of us and even remembered the bride’s name. She was so shocked but ecstatic to feel welcomed and loved by this father daughter duo. They took pictures for us and of us capturing all of the memorable moments on the trip. The ride was extremely smooth and he cared for us as if we were his own. I can’t wait to return to Aruba as I will only be booking with him moving forward. If you’re hesitant, trust me, don’t be! This is the boat to be on! I can’t thank them enough for making this a memorable experience for my friends and I!
