Power is a single Ford Lehman with 120hp and approx. 3500 hours, with a Detailed log book included.

The 1971 Grand Banks 32 is a classic example of a well-regarded trawler-style boat. Built by Grand Banks Yachts, known for their craftsmanship and attention to detail, the Grand Banks 32 was designed with a focus on comfort, durability, and ease of handling.

Design and Build : The boat is constructed with a full-displacement wooden hull, which contributes to its stability and smooth ride in various conditions. The design is often characterized by a traditional look, with a spacious aft cockpit, pilothouse, and a long, graceful bow sprit. With Teak capped perimeter rails and bronze stanchions. Teak boarding platform, bright varnished teak transom. Upholstered bridge seating. Canvas upper rail panels, helm cover, and Bimini roof.

Dimensions : The Grand Banks 32 measures around 32 feet LOA with a beam of 11.6 ft, and weighs around 17,000lbs. The draft is generally around 3.5 feet, making it suitable for cruising in shallow waters. 2 x 75g painted aluminum fuel tanks. 110g fresh water.

Engine and Performance : The 1971 model is powered by a single inboard 6 cylinder Ford Lehman diesel engine with 120hp. This setup provides reliable performance and great fuel efficiency, while top speeds are usually in and around 6-9 knots.

Interior Layout : Inside, you can expect a well-thought-out layout that maximizes space. Common features include a forward V-berth, a main salon with seating and dining areas, a galley  equipped with a propane oven, and a separate head.

Grand banks trawlers for sale.

The first wooden Grand Banks trawlers were built in 1964 at the original Grand Banks facility in Hong Kong. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Grand Banks produced a series of classic DeFever-designed “Alaskan” trawlers (also wood) from 45' to 55'. By 1973, Grand Banks switched to fiberglass production at a new factory in Singapore. In 1993, Grand Banks took another traditional boat design, the lobster boat or "Downeast" cruiser, and introduced their all-new Eastbay series of luxur y cruising yachts. In 2001, the company launched the Aleution series of raised pilothouse yachts. In 2005, the classic semi-displacement Grand Banks models were retired from the fleet. In 2007, Grand Banks introduced the first of its Heritage series of performance trawlers. Grand Banks yachts are built in American Marine facilities in Singapore and Malaysia. Long considered among the finest production yachts available, used Grand Banks models enjoy excellent resale values.

A nice fall day on the Columbia

Sorry about my ignorance as well but is it navigable from where you are to the Pacific?  

Thanks for that, looks a nice part of the world. Notice you have a place called Moscow a little to the North East of you, any relation to the other Moscow?  

Irdiverdan, you bet. It's about 335 miles down the Columbia River to the Pacific. In that trip we go through 4 sets of locks and some of the most beautiful country you've ever seen. There are also 4 sets of locks between here and Lewiston, Idaho. If you want to see what this area looks like, here's a thread you can check out from when we brought the boat upstream from Portland. Bringing Beachcomber Home Andy, fortunately there's no connection between OUR Moscow and Putin's Moscow. Moscow, Idaho is the home of the University of Idaho and is well known for producing some of the finest spuds in the world in that area.  

GFC, As much as I like the open ocean, I envy the your opportunity to access beautiful waters like that. It's a gorgeous part of the world. I was born and raised a few hundred miles north of you, across the border on the upper reaches of the Columbia and Kootenay rivers. The water is a lot faster moving up there. I'll be back there next week to reacquaint myself.

AusCan, that's some beautiful country you're headed to, and a loooooong way from OZ. Have fun, but don't freeze while you're up there. Oh, and don't forget to post some pics of that area.
