Divers Look for Surveillance Video from Sunken Sicily Yacht as They Hunt for 'Clues' to How Tragedy Unfolded

They also searched for “any other photographic or video devices present,” a source says.

Divers have returned to the wreck of the luxury yacht  Bayesian in an effort to learn more about why the vessel sank so quickly last month while off the coast of Sicily, killing seven of the 22 people onboard , a source tells PEOPLE.

The specialists on Thursday, Sept. 12, went looking to retrieve the video surveillance systems that were on the yacht at the time, the source close to the investigation says, describing it as “a bid to search for clues."

Information is not yet available on what was brought to surface.

The divers also looked for “any other photographic or video devices present,” the source says.

The Bayesian went below the water after severe weather early on Aug. 19, Italian authorities have said.

Six of the 12 passengers were later found dead inside the sunken vessel ; a seventh victim, the yacht’s chef , one of the 10 crew, was recovered near the Bayesian .

Officials have determined that some of the victims drowned, though further examination and testing is ongoing to see if other victims may have suffocated inside an air pocket in the sinking yacht.

The seven victims are Chairman of Morgan Stanley International Jonathan Bloomer and his wife, Judy Bloomer; New York City-based lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife, jewelry designer Neda Morvillo; British tech businessman Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah; and Recaldo Thomas, the chef.

Lynch and his family and friends had been celebrating with the yacht trip in the wake of his acquittal this year in a high-profile fraud trial in the U.S.

However, the source close to the case now says that based on “information gathered by the investigators,” the mood aboard the Bayesian had shifted in the wake of the news that Lynch’s friend Stephen Chamberlain, who was also acquitted of fraud, had died in August after being hit by a car in the U.K.

“He was so shaken by the news of the tragic loss that he had decided to interrupt his holiday and return to the UK,” the source says, “so his return was imminent.”

But those plans were derailed by what has been described as a terrible storm on Aug. 19.

What remains unclear is why the Bayesian sank, given its size and apparent seaworthiness. The investigation continues, with authorities looking into a potential manslaughter and negligent shipwreck case.

The captain and two crew members have spoken with officials but no one has been charged.

Altered , the new trading card game initially funded through an uncharacteristically successful Kickstarter campaign , is now available to the general public. Altered is introducing some fairly radical ideas into the TCG space with its truly one-of-a-kind cards and a print-on-demand system that works in tandem with its free app. However, its rapid-fire gameplay will feel familiar to anyone who’s played Star Wars: Unlimited , while its vibrant color palette will resonate with fans of Disney Lorcana .

Currently, the Altered TCG is exclusively available through the Asmodee storefront, with just two products primarily intended for resale. But, if you’d like to get a head start on collecting this freshly minted TCG, we’ve detailed all the available products below, along with their contents.

Altered Starter Deck Display

Altered is launching with a collection of six different starter decks, which are currently only available as a $89.94 bundle from the Asmodee store . Each deck represents one of the factions in Altered , and includes a 39-card deck in addition to a single hero card, rulebook, foldable game mat, five Adventure cards, a pair of reminder cards, a foil card, and essential play markers.

Altered TCG Booster Box

Like traditional TCGs, Altered will have Booster Packs available to expand your collection and customize your deck. While individual packs will be available eventually, currently, you can only purchase a $143.64 box from the Asmodee store . Each box includes a total of 36 Booster Packs, each of which includes 12 cards. Each Booster Pack is guaranteed to include at least one card from every faction in addition to potentially holding unique variants of existing cards, or a single true one-of-a-kind card. The rarity spread for individual boosters isn’t disclosed, but each Booster Box, on average, includes 36 hero cards, 288 commons, over 100 rares, and up to five unique cards.

Altered Accessories

Altered has also launched with a robust collection of premium accessories produced by Gamegenic, including game mats , card sleeves , deck boxes , and more. For now, the only place to find these accessories is the Asmodee store, but we’ve outlined the entire catalog below if you’re looking for some fun extras to enhance your experience with Altered.
