About this Oyster 42

Remarks : The Oyster 42 is a capable offshore yacht with a good turn of speed that is equally at home exploring the Kyles and the Isles of the west of Scotland. Its spacious cockpit and well balanced feel under sail combine with its light and airy accommodation to create a comfortable, practical cruising yacht, suited for extended periods on board. This Oyster 42 has undergone  a steady programme of maintenance and upgrading since 2015 including an engine rebuild 2021, electronics replacements, new standing rigging 2018 and running rigging 2018-2023, gas hoses 2024 and new batteries 2022.

Accommodation : Forward cabin with V berths with an infill cushion to convert to a double berth, newly upholstered with storage under. Hanging locker, portlights and opening deck hatch. Door leading through to passageway, to starboard, a two tier bunk cabin with portlights and a deck hatch and to port, the heads. Door through to the saloon with a recently upholstered L shaped settee to port with a dining table and bench seat to starboard. Full size forward facing chart table to port with swivel seat, galley to starboard. Door aft to port to the double berth cabin with fixed portlights and an opening portlight to the cockpit, vanity unit with a sink and storage, access to engine. Euroyachts are a long established boat sales and service company located in Scotland. We have bases in Largs Yacht Haven and Troon Yacht Haven. At Largs Marina we operate from the largest custom built boat sales Showroom in the UK. Our business was established in 1965 and we have been distributors for Jeanneau sailing and motorboats since 1978.

Ronnie and Angus Scott

Our name, and that of founder Ronnie Scott, has been at the forefront of pleasure craft retailing in the UK since the late sixties.

Ronnie Scott pioneered the use of indoor boat sales premises, part exchange and imported yachts for national distribution as early as 1962, with the still prolific East German Folkboat.

Since 1978 we have enjoyed a unique trading relationship with French builders  Jeanneau , running the national distribution until 1993, and today are responsible for distribution in Scotland. Ronnie Scott’s son Angus worked in the business full time from 1981 until the company was sold to Yachts.co in October 2020. In his time in the business Angus ran the UK and Irish distribution of Jeanneau boats from our Hamble office between 1988 and 1992 and more recently was responsible for the development of our Largs Showroom. Angus Scott ran the business from 1994 to 2020.

We are a long established boat sales organisation located in Scotland with bases at Largs and Troon Yacht Havens. For more than forty years we have been distributors of both Jeanneau sailing and power craft and are presently responsible for Jeanneau distribution in Scotland.

We are also the official brokers at Largs and Troon Yacht Havens. At Largs we operate from a custom built Showroom the only one of its kind in the UK. We have been members of  British Marine  for more than forty years and are members of BRBA.
