Miami F1 Hospitality VIP Guide: Paddock Club, Yacht Club & more

Miami F1 hospitality guide including the Hard Rock beach club and the Miami GP yacht Club

There are a huge number of Miami F1 hospitality and VIP offerings for fans looking to experience the race weekend in luxury. There’s  Villas, Suites, Cabanas, Beach Clubs and even a Miami GP Yacht Club!

But which one should you choose? This guide gives a full overview of all of the different hospitality options, their location on the track and what each package includes.

Miami F1 hospitality options

There are around 20 different Miami F1 hospitality options that can be purchased at a premium by members of the public who are looking to spend a little more but get a lot more in return. Some of these are suitable for individual fans, some for groups and some cater to everyone.

The Miami Grand Prix hospitality options can all be purchased through the Miami F1 ticket page, where you’ll have to speak to a Miami F1 sales rep who’ll want to know a little more about what you’re looking for to help you make your purchase.

Miami F1 splits the hospitality options in to three different categories:

Miami F1 hospitality map

Currently there are 18 different hospitality offerings available at the Miami Grand Prix. This may go up next year as the organisers cash-in on people and businesses in the Miami area looking to enjoy the weekend in luxury.

Below is a map of all of the different hospitality options at the Miami F1 and their location around the circuit.

Miami F1 hospitality map and locations

Hospitality Tickets

Hospitality tickets can be purchased through the official Miami GP website.

But you can also find them, sometimes at discounted prices, on Stubhub.

I’ve used StubHub for F1 tickets a number of times over the last 12 months, each time with 100% success.

They have a ‘FanProtect guarantee’ which is very robust and ensures your tickets and your money are always protected.

Miami F1 hospitality - Luxury options

It seems slightly strange for the organisers to only put a few of the offerings in the ‘Luxury’ category, but these are the most premium of all the VIP options at the Miami F1.

Below is an overview of each of the different Luxury hospitality options at GP.

Paddock Club Hospitality

Location: Pit buildings, directly above the pit garages and overlooking the pit lane

Experience type: Shared experience with other guests

The Paddock Club is present at every F1 race on the calendar and is usually organised and managed by F1 Experiences, part of the F1 group, rather than the circuit management. At almost every event it’s the most exclusive, premium and expensive VIP option of the weekend.

Whilst Miami has some other incredibly expensive VIP options, the Paddock Club still offers the most unique experience. Rather than simply being a nice place for guests to hang out and watch the action, Paddock Club tickets include pit walks, a full circuit tour and talks from F1 drivers and team members.

It’s the only true ‘experience’ that you can get, and perfect for die-hard F1 fans looking to get an insider look at F1. But you better be prepared to pay around $10k each for a ticket.

Here’s an experience from an F1 fan on Reddit who got access to the Paddock Club for the 2023 race at Miami.

I have a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Miami this week: got tickets to the Paddock Club through my company! I thought the community may appreciate hearing about the experience. AMA by u/crankyneymar in formula1

Location: Right hand side of Turns 1 and 2, near the pit lane exit.

The world reknowned restaurant with locations on Miami Beach also has a hospitality lounge at the Miami F1. Expect amazing food, a lovely indoor setting and outdoor tiered viewing areas.

More info can be found here.

Location: Right hand side the circuit just after Turn 3. Directly next to the podium.

The 72 Club is the VIP hospitality area for the Hard Rock Stadium. At the Miami F1 it’s expanded to include an additional open-air bar, lounge and seated viewing area directly overlooking the run towards Turn 4.

One of the best things about the 72 Club is that it’s directly next to the podium. At the end of the race you’ll have one of the best views going of the trophy presentations and champagne spraying.

Well what would an article on the Miami F1 be without mentioning the Yachts. Yachts you say, in a parking lot? That’s right. Much to the amusement of the world’s media and race fans, Miami F1 organisers built a fake marina on the inside of turns 6, 7 and 8 and ‘moored’ a number of high end yachts there.

Not to be outdone by Monaco, these yachts are available for ‘charter’ over the race weekend and offer guests a luxurious maritime experience, all without ever having to set sail from the Miami F1 marina.

The yachts can be hired out fully or on a shared bases. Guests not only get access to the yachts themselves, but the private viewing deck at the back end of each boat is also available.

Miami F1 hospitality - Suites

The different hospitality suites at the Miami GP are usually private spaces with a communal element. Below is an overview of each of these.

Location: Right-hand side of turns 2 and 3, just after the pit lane exit

Experience type: Private suites with shared lounge areas

The Villas are two different blocks of private indoor suites with seating and viewing areas. Each villa has access to the communal rooftop lounge which is shaded and provides a higher vantage point.

From either of the two sections of The Villas you can just about see the cars exiting Turn 1 and have a great view of them coming around Turn 2 and entering Turn 3.

Crypto.com Terrace

Location: Left hand side of Turn 4

The Crypto.com terrace features a huge open-air lounge, bar, food and seating area. There’s also an exclusive trackside viewing deck overlooking Turn 4.

Additionally there are private suites for hire that can fit up to 30 guests in and provide an exclusive area to relax, eat and drink when you’re not viewing the on-track action.

Turn 5 Suites

Location: Right-hand side of turns 4 and 5

Turns 4 and 5 are very fast, and the Turn 5 suites have an amazing view of the cars coming directly towards them, sucked to the ground by their downforce, through this section.

The individual private suites are open-air, shaded and provide a great vantage point to see the action from. There’s also shared lounge spaces across two levels that all guests have access to.

Yacht Club Suites

Location: Inside Turns 6 and 7

Located directly next to the yachts, the Miami GP Yacht Club suites are private, open-air, shaded suites that overlook Turns 6, 7 and the whole of the fake marina area. With Yacht Club suites passes you can’t actually get access to any of the Yachts, but you are able to use the communal lounge areas in the Miami Grand Prix Yacht Club.

Yacht Club Cabanas

Experience type: Private open-air cabanas with shared lounge areas

Back in the Miami GP Yacht Club, this time with some cabanas. These are located on the ‘ground’ floor of the Yacht Club area, directly in front of the Yacht Club suites (which are floors 1 and 2).

Being lower to the ground the view from the open-air shaded cabanas isn’t so good. You’re pretty much restricted to seeing cars come past you through Turn 6 and a bit of Turn 7, and that’s about it.

Beach Club Cabanas

Location: Inside Turns 11, 12 and 13

Experience type: Private open-air cabanas with shared lounge access

Over to the Hard Rock Beach Club now, and the Beach Club Cabanas are, for me, the best Miami F1 hospitality option based on their location and view point.

Lining the whole beach club area and the edge of the track around turns 11, 12 and 13, the cabanas are one floor up and have an amazing vantage point, almost directly hanging over the edge of the track. I’d try and get one on the Turn 11 side of the beach club where a huge amount of overtaking happens. If you get one on the Turn 12 / 13 side, you won’t be able to see Turn 11.

So being able to watch the action at Turn 11 first hand, from your own cabana with a private screen and attendant, sounds pretty much perfect.

The video below shows the cabanas on the opposite side of the track.

Turn 18 Suites

Location: Top of the Autonation grandstand on the right hand side of Turns 17 and 18

Experience type: Private areas at the top of the grandstand with access to a shared lounge area

The Turn 18 suites are actually at the top of the Autonation Turn 18 grandstand on the right of Turns 17 and 18. The ‘suites’ are small private areas, all adjacent to one another, under the grandstand’s canopy. Each has seating and a TV.

Being at the top of the stand you’re a long way above the track action, plus the canopy roof will block your view of any on-track action that doesn’t happen right in front of your part of the stand.

The private ‘suites’ aren’t actually very private, with only a small waist-height fence separating each one and making you feel like you’re in a pen.

You have access to the communal MIA hospitality village as well (number 18 on the map at the top of the page). This is a much larger indoor space with more seating, eating a drinking areas for VIP guests. It’s basically a glorified warehouse with no actual views of the track, but being air-conditioned it’s a good place to cool off for a while

Start / Finish Suites

Location: Top of the Start / Finish grandstand on the left hand side of the main straight

Experience type: Private areas at the top of the grandstand

Same kind of story as the Turn 18 suites, the start / finish suites are private areas under the canopy at the top of the grandstand on the main straight. You’ll have great views of the start and finish action during the Miami Grand Prix and get to experience the atmosphere in one of the biggest grandstands on the circuit.

Turn 1 North Suites

Location: Top of the Turn 1 North grandstand on the left hand side of the main straight, just at the entry to Turn 1

Again these suites are just private areas at the Top of the Miami Turn 1 North grandstand. This grandstand is really well located, and will have views of the end of the main straight, one of the Miami GP DRS zones, Turn 1 and all the way down through Turns 2 and 3.

Miami F1 hospitality - Clubs

The Miami F1 hospitality clubs are all shared hospitality areas that provide a more premium experience than either Miami campus pass or grandstand seats would. Check when booking whether the clubs have assigned / pre-reserved seating. Most of them should, as you don’t want to pay top dollar for a hospitality experience and still be fighting for the good seats come race day.

Below is an overview of the Club hospitality areas.

Location: End of the main straight on the right-hand side, on the inside of Turn 1

Experience type: Shared hospitality space with communal lounge and viewing areas

The Miami F1 Vista Club  was new for 2023. It’s a two-story structure that overlooks the end of the main straight and Turn 1 where there’s always lots of action happening, both at the start and throughout the race.

It has a huge indoor lounge and seating area, plus tiered open-air shaded seating overlooking the track

Veranda Club

Location: Inside of the track between turns 3 and 10.

The Miami F1 Veranda Club is pretty unique as it’s one of the only Miami F1 hospitality areas where you get a view of two different sections of the track.

Being squeezed on to the inside of the circuit, from one side of the club you can see Turn 3 and from the other you can see Turn 10. Neither part of the track usually sees that much overtaking, but both are high-speed corners. Having the cars pass you on both sides, flat-out, is worth it in itself.

The Boathouse

Location: Inside of the circuit between turns 5 and 6

The Boathouse is right next to the Miami GP Yacht Club and Marina area. It’s actually closer to Turn 5 and is positioned so you have a view back down the track through turns 5 and 4.

The Miami F1 Boathouse is set over 2 floors with tiered, shaded seating and large open-air lounge and bar areas on both floors. Great for experience the atmosphere of the Marina but you don’t actually have access to the yachts or the Miami GP Yacht Club.

Hard Rock Beach Club

Location: Inside of turns 11, 12 and 13

Experience type: Beach club – daybeds, pools and a huge screen to watch the action on

The deck at the Hard Rock Beach Club brings full on pool-party vibes to the Miami F1. There’s a couple of pools, a huge TV screen to watch the action from and a number of daybeds that you can reserve.

The Miami GP concerts will be performing live here as well, so if you want a bit of the beach-club party atmosphere whilst being surrounded by F1 cars then this is the place to do it.

Boater’s Guide- 2023 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix

2023 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix: Boater’s Guide

miami f1 yacht party

Table of Contents

Last Updated on May 2, 2023 by Boatsetter Team

If you’re looking for something riveting to do for the weekend, check out the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix on May 4-7, 2023 at the Hard Rock Stadium, also known as the Miami International Autodrome. Starting Friday, you can watch three practices, a qualifying race, and then the main event on Sunday as twenty 1,000-hp cars circle a 3.3-mile track at 200 mph.

  • When: May 4-7, 2023
  • Where: Hard Rock Stadium (Miami, FL)
  • Cost: $590 3-Day Pass (Online sale only)

Nearly 100,000 attendees are expected over the three days, and it’s not unusual to spot celebrities from Michael Jordan to Beyonce. Keep reading this boater’s guide for important information on packages and tips on making the best out of the race.

View all available Boat Rentals in Miami, FL

Definitely make sure to check out VIP packages ( Luxury , Suite , and Club ) which may include meeting an F1 driver, walking pit-row, and exceptional hospitality, including gourmet catering and live entertainment, before hunkering down with general admission.

Tickets for F1 Miami can be purchased for each of the three days, and prices vary by location around the track, which includes grandstand seating, private suites, and exclusive club locations that can run upwards of $12,000.

If possible, make sure to crave two to three days just to explore Miami. Points of interest to keep in mind when planning your Miami trip:

Visit South Beach

  • South Beach
  • Nixon Sandbar
  • Biscayne National Park

The best part is all of these can be (and should be) explored by boat! For much less than a ticket to the yachts at F1 Miami, book the perfect boat online , then meet the boat owner at the dock. Make sure to check boat listings for Add-ons (or trip essentials) to make your trip easy as a Florida breeze.

Pro Tip :  Go to Sultry Miami for a wonderful evening in front of the beach with an adult drink in your hands. Soak up the rays on the beaches near here when not at the track!

You can skipper your own bareboat to enjoy a pontoon party, rent a center console fishing boat for a day of angling, or raise the sails for the day. For the ultimate MIA experience, book a yacht and relax on a foredeck sunbed.

To capture the nautical ambiance of the Monaco Grand Prix, Miami organizers have created a 25,000-square-foot “marina” inside the stadium! These actual yachts are trucked in and surrounded by a wooden deck topped with a vinyl decal. Exclusive experiences (which can be secured only by calling) are available in multiple clubs or on one of the yachts “docked” inside the track.

What Was the “Yacht Club” at the Inaugural Miami Grand Prix Formula 1 Race Really Like?

There is nothing quite like watching 20 1000-horsepower race cars, going almost 200 miles per hour, rocket past, aboard a yacht “docked” inside an f1 race track..

I wasn’t sure what to expect prior to spending four full days at the inaugural Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix recently. Of course, I’d seen every episode of the wildly popular Drive to Survive series on Netflix. So, I thought I knew all about the drivers, and drama, and exotic excitement of the Formula 1 racing circuit.

miami f1 yacht party

But I quickly learned that nothing, absolutely nothing, on TV could have prepared me for the adrenaline-pumping, engine-revving, stimulation overload that happens when I felt what it’s like when 20 1000-horsepower race cars, going almost 200 miles per hour, rocket past mere feet of where I was standing.

miami f1 yacht party

Better still, my vantage point wasn’t among the crowd of over 100,000 fans in the stands. I was on the best corner of the track because organizers pulled out all the stops and built a “marina” that was built on the inside of inside of Turns 6, 7 & 8, so an an extremely exclusive group of VIPs could watch the race from a yacht, like they do in Monaco and Abu Dhabi.

miami f1 yacht party

The funny thing is, while some joked about the “fake marina” that was built for the event, I can say from experience that the MSC Cruises Yacht Club at the MIA Marina (featuring 10 yachts that were transported to the track on trailers) was not only one of the best places to watch the race, it was also the most exclusive (and comfortable) because only 200 or so VIP guests that were invited by the yacht brands were allowed in. So, while most watched the racing crammed into a grandstand seat, or in one of many crowded hospitality suites, yacht club guests (like yours truly) hung out on the “dock” that was mere feet from the track and enjoyed all the luxuries of a fully catered yacht while the cars rocketed past.

miami f1 yacht party

And as you can see in these photos, the yachts (that ranged in size from 67 to 44 feet long) even looked like they were floating in “water” that was made from a special vinyl floor. And since we here at Denison Yachting have always been big fans of F1 coming to Miami, we were proud to be one of the brands that were part of that experience, too!

miami f1 yacht party

Meanwhile, plenty of superyachts were in Miami for the race, too. One party I stayed way too late at was aboard Dr. Jonathan Rothberg’s 185-foot-long Damen support vessel GENE CHASER.

miami f1 yacht party

But, when it comes to serious celebrity star-power, nothing topped being in the paddock and grid area shortly before the race started on Sunday afternoon. Superstars that were milling around the cars and drivers on the grid before the race included: Michael Jordan, Venus and Serena Williams, LeBron James, David Beckham, Michael Douglas, Pharrell, Michael Bay, and even Paris Hilton, as well as numerous Miami Dolphins players and head coach Mike McDaniel.

miami f1 yacht party

And I know next year is going to be even better.

Stay tuned!

Look out, Art Basel. There is a new full-fledged party week in South Florida that may have already taken your crown. The F-1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix officially arrived in 2022 and has gone full throttle with a South Florida flair ever since.

This year’s action will go down on May 3 through 5, with Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium serving as the course’s undeniable epicenter. With this location, it’s not quite the logistical challenge as F1’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip was in November 2023. In fact, being 15 miles from Collins Avenue means that the festivities don’t generally add to Miami’s already crawling traffic.

Still, the entire region comes alive for the weekend, including neighboring Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach . Amid concerts, hotel options, culinary pizzazz and all the in-between, these are the spots that will get any racing fan’s engines going.

How to See the Race

If you’re looking to go VIP status while you watch Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in action, booking a package with F1 Experiences is the best way to go. Its bundle includes climate-controlled club access with libations and delicious food, guided pit-lane tours, meet-and-greets with drivers and an opportunity to stroll the track.

Other top-tier tickets include the Red Bull Energy Station near turn 11, which promises gourmet catering, driver appearances, surprise sessions by musical acts and, yes, an abundance of free-flowing Red Bull.

The Hard Rock Beach Club — with views of turns 11 and 12 — is also a winner. In addition to pools and cabanas to relax in, the entertainment slate this year dazzles with Steve Aoki (May 3), Ed Sheeran and Don Omar (May 4), and John Summit and Kaskade (May 5) all performing in the space. You can even park your yacht onsite again this year and watch the action zip by.

Campus passes for the Miami Grand Prix start at $150 per day. And remember, it’s a concrete wonderland, and highs in Miami can peak in the mid-80s to low 90s in May, so wear sunscreen and hydrate. Luckily, Liquid I.V. just signed on as the Miami Grand Prix’s hydration partner and will have samples across the grounds.

Where to Stay

Some Miami hotels are going all-out with packages tailored to F1 fans. Among them, Hotel AKA Brickell offers a Pit Stop Suite that is draped in racing memorabilia and includes an in-room driving simulator, a magnum of champagne and dinner at its stellar Mediterranean restaurant ADRIFT Mare .

Properties such as The Gabriel and The Cadillac are hosting viewing parties for hotel guests at their respective pools — with race car floats from Float Factory in the water included.

On Miami Beach, Eden Roc provides a Racetrack to Recovery promotion that includes a stay in a premium suite with an Oculus Quest 2 VR racing game set-up, a libation “pit stop” at the lobby bar and a recovery session at Esencia Spa , among other touches.

Forbes Travel Guide Recommended The Miami Beach EDITION may not have any F1-specific plans, but the fun property with a sculpture-like central staircase, an indoor ice-skating rink and bowling alley always finds ways to wow.

Five-Star Faena Hotel Miami Beach is another option that’s loaded with cultural panache and culinary masterpieces, including its own 150-seat opera house-like theater and a 22,000-square-foot wellness facility .

Four-Star 1 Hotel South Beach gives a nature-inspired retreat vibe with a newly constructed outdoor beach club. Stop by its rooftop Japanese-influenced bar/lounge WATR . One of Miami’s buzziest DJs, NÈMEKKO, was just appointed a residency there.

And if you’re looking to stay in Miami’s newest hotel, that would be Gale Miami Hotel & Residences . Slated to open May 1, Gale will have three restaurants and is a stone’s throw from some of the city’s biggest attractions, including Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science and Bayfront Park .

What to See and Do

If you’re not looking to splurge on Miami Grand Prix tickets, there are spots to catch the race action and ambiance for free. The Racing Fan Fest , taking center stage in the graffiti-clad Wynwood neighborhood, is billed as the largest off-track fan festival during race week. More than 80,000 spectators are expected to attend the high-octane spectacle with a Red Bull Fan Zone, racing simulators, pop-up shops from Hugo Boss and New Era, and the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 car for photos among the top attractions.

On the nightlife front, LIV (at the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Fontainebleau Miami Beach ), E11EVEN and Club Space are the see-and-be-seen clubs. Notable acts hitting the town for race week include 50 Cent (May 3 at E11EVEN) and John Summit (May 3 at LIV). You’ll want to keep an eye on their respective calendars as acts are often not announced until the week of.

For fans of electronic music, the world-renowned and Miami-bred Ultra Music Festival will host its RESISTANCE MIAMI club residency May 3 and 4 at M2. Headliners include Carl Cox and Italian sibling duo Mathame. Hollywood’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is also hosting some big acts, notably the aforementioned Ed Sheeran concert and the official Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix Pool Party (with Kaskade on May 4).

Beyond the clubs and confusion, Superblue , in the emerging Allapattah neighborhood, is a tranquil, immersive art reprieve. And if you’re in need of some muscle relief from all the walking, the Four-Star, 70,000-square-foot Spa at Carillon Miami Beach is one of the largest spa and wellness facilities on the East Coast.

Where to Eat and Drink

Miami is very much a foodie city, teeming with everything from mom-and-pop shops dishing out Latin favorites to the most luxurious of fine-dining establishments. A rumored favorite of F1 drivers in Miami Beach is Villa Azur , an elegant take on Mediterranean with a farm-fresh slant.

Edan Bistro , the North Miami brainchild of chef Aitor Garate Berasaluze, is serving an eight-course Race Week Tasting Menu (May 2 through 6), including a scallop tartare and Angus beef carpaccio. Korean steakhouse COTE Miami will also have a prix fixe tasting menu May 2 through 5, with A5, wagyu and USDA prime morsels along the way.

As for the most extravagant meals of the week, there are two front runners. Once Upon A Kitchen is a $2,500, six-course dinner at W South Beach on May 4, featuring heralded Italian chef Massimo Bottura paired with world-renowned Peru-based toque Virgilio Martinez in the same kitchen. American Express presents Carbone Beach is the other top ticket. Billed as a “Supper Club on the Sand,” the event (May 2 to 5) is literally happening on South Beach. In years past, Andrea Bocelli, LeBron James, Serena Williams and other big names have attended.

Owner's Club Miami 2023 cocktails event

Inside the Owners' Club 2023 Miami F1 cocktail event

Ahead of the 2023 Miami Grand Prix race weekend, BOAT International held an exclusive Owners' Club cocktail reception on 4 May at the Surf Club, Four Seasons Hotel Miami. Attendees mingled on the Lido Terrace, enjoying the laid-back evening with an open bar and delicious food served throughout. The event was organised with support from the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) and The Macallan .

This year's Owners' Club cocktail reception was hosted on the Surf Club restaurant's Lido Terrace, known as one of the best oceanfront locations in the Miami Beaches. Guests took in the spectacular sunset views, all while anticipation was building for the fifth round of the 2023 Formula One World Championship taking place that weekend.

The food & drink

A selection of canapes, a Cheese and Jamon display and free-flowing drinks had been generously provided by the host venue throughout the evening's festivities. Guests were welcomed with a Bermuda Rum Swizzle cocktail (using Gosling's Black Seal Rum and Gosling's Gold Bermuda Rum), before moving on to enjoy an array of champagne, wine, beer and soft drinks. Event partner The Macallan also had their bar cart on display, serving the Macallan Champagne Cocktail as well as the 2021 release of the Macallan Rare Cask, which guests used to toast after a welcome speech from BOAT International editor-in-chief Stewart Campbell.

The Owners' Club event offered guests a chance to catch up with industry friends and kick off the race weekend in style – with some even sporting their favourite team's gear. To close off the evening, a cake was brought out to celebrate owner Bobby Genovese's birthday, which happened to fall on the same day.

This Whole Yacht-Watching Experience For The 2022 F1 Miami Grand Prix Looks Poorly Thought Out

In a desperate attempt to prove america worthy of european racing, there’s a new f1 yacht club in town… in miami, florida… on land.

Image for article titled This Whole Yacht-Watching Experience For The 2022 F1 Miami Grand Prix Looks Poorly Thought Out

Formula 1 in Monaco is a fantastical pinnacle of excellence when it comes to racing and showing off the copious amount of money the European series attracts. Many have dreamed what it would be like to grace the decks of the elite, fancy-ass glass of champagne in hand, to watch an F1 car take the Picsene curve in real time. Many, instead, wish upon a star, wishbone, genie lamp, etc., that they could make friends with one of those yacht owners and make one’s Formula 1 dreams of watching Monaco from a yacht come true.

Suggested Reading

Instead, we find ourselves always late to a good yacht party, but that’s because we can’t afford a yacht, and no one is extending an invite our way anytime soon. However, if you can afford a yacht in these United States of America, it’s a good time to consider getting one and bank on The F1 Miami Grand Prix’s man-made lake that’ll support yachts. At least, I think that’s what it’s supposed to do.

Related Content

A photo posted from Front Office Sports on Twitter , originally on the Miami GP’s website , shows a rendition of where these yachts will be chilling. Even though Miami itself runs along the coast of the Atlantic, the track itself is not along that oceanic coastline. So, in the hopping yachting hotspot, planners found a way to include the city’s yacht life, by creating an exclusive club and an accompanying dock along the man-made lake you see above.

Here’s a digital tour of the plan:

While those of you without tickets could look at these yacht prices, gather a dozen of your friends, and find a way to afford this yacht experience, I haven’t been able to uncover how you can do the yacht, without a ticket for the Miami GP.

Also, again, look at that photo. That lake… has a fraction of the yachts you see in Monaco. And there’s another problem: there’s no way to sail in or out. It’s entirely landlocked. So my guess, you rent a yacht and get it dropped into the lake. And the space on that tiny lake is limiting.

Image for article titled This Whole Yacht-Watching Experience For The 2022 F1 Miami Grand Prix Looks Poorly Thought Out

With a closer look – see? There’s a handful of yachts. Maybe we can do a contest to guess how many yachts can fit onto the lake . I think putting any more than those nine yachts rendered there might be a stretch.

Meanwhile, t here’s a dozen sites still offering yachts for your viewing pleasure for the 2022 Miami Grand Prix race in May… but I’m at a loss as to how they can accommodate even those dozens of yachts. There was also a package offered exclusively through F1 Experiences, the Luxury Yacht Dyna , which is sold out. Oddly enough, that package includes a Grandstand seat. Why sit with the lesser folk when you can live it up with overpriced champagne and caviar on your yacht?

Call me jaded because I can’t experience the yachting dream myself, but this whole thing comes off as a poorly planned and  desperate reach to include the elite and make Miami, hell, the U.S., more showy than it really is. For the rest of you rich folk, good luck with your yacht, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Formula 1 reveals Miami grand prix proposal

By Rebecca Bradbury   4 May 2018

Formula One announced earlier this week it wants to stage a street race in Miami , Florida , starting in October 2019 and the city commission will vote on 10 May on a proposal to establish plans for a 10-year deal.

The series has long sought to increase its presence in the US, and if the Miami race goes ahead, it would be the first street race in the US since a grand prix in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1991.

It would also be the second F1 race in the US, in addition to the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. As this is also held in October, it remains unclear whether the Texas fixture would be moved to earlier in the season or whether the two events would be twinned.

racers take to the streets during the Monaco Grand Prix

For charterers, a Miami grand prix would present a brilliant opportunity to rent a yacht in the city. It would provide the ideal platform for watching the race in unrivalled style as well as for hosting a post-race superyacht party or corporate charter .

The so-called ‘Magic City’ is one of the most impressive superyacht destinations in the world. The megalopolis is renowned for its electrifying nightlife and cutting-edge cuisine, making it particularly fitting for a date on the F1 calendar. It also serves as a gateway for yacht charters to Florida ’s other cruising grounds.

Renting a yacht at the Miami grand prix would provide the ideal platform for watching the race in unrivalled style

Sean Bratches, F1’s managing director for commercial operations, said: “Miami’s status as one of the world’s most iconic and glamorous cities, combined with its robust tourism infrastructure, makes Miami the perfect destination for Formula One and its fans.”

‘In cooperation with the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County, I am confident we can deliver yet another global event that will be a destination for people around the world,’ added Stephen Ross, US entrepreneur and supporter of the proposed race.

The Miami race would be the latest move by Liberty Media, the American ownership group that took over F1 in 2017. Next week’s vote will be the first step to formalising details, with a final vote possible over the summer.
