For the liveliest atmosphere, July and August are peak season. If you prefer a quieter pace, May, June, and summer, September, and October are lovely, with the added bonus of fewer crowds.

Our rent charters fee typically includes the rental of the yacht or boat itself, the attendance of a professional staff, and all necessary safety equipment. Standard provisions may cover basic amenities, but additional costs such as fuel, marina fees, food and beverage expenses, and any special requests (e.g., water sports equipment, guided tours) are usually not included and can be arranged for an extra fee. It's important to discuss these details upfront to tailor the charter to your preferences while managing budget expectations.

More than 90 days before the charter start date: Clients may cancel their booking and receive a full refund of any amounts paid, less an administrative fee to cover processing costs.

60 to 89 days before the charter start date: Clients are eligible to receive a 50% refund of the total charter fee.

Less than 60 days before the charter start date: No refunds will be available, as we are unlikely to rebook the yacht for the specified period on short notice.

We strongly recommend clients consider travel insurance that covers charter cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or travel disruptions. This ensures that your investment is protected, and you can look forward to your luxury yacht charter experience with peace of mind.

Immediate Concerns: If your complaint is related to the yacht or services provided during your charter, we kindly ask you to inform the captain or the head crew member as soon as possible. Many issues can be resolved quickly when addressed in real time, ensuring the rest of your charter experience remains enjoyable

Formal Complaint: If your concern cannot be resolved during the charter or if it pertains to issues before or after your yacht experience, please submit a formal complaint in writing within 14 days of the charter's conclusion. You can email us directly at [email protected] .

Investigation Process: Upon receiving your complaint, our customer service team dealing with Ibiza Yacht Charter will conduct a thorough investigation.

Resolution: We aim to resolve all complaints within 30 days of receipt. We will provide you with a written response detailing the outcome of our investigation.

For most Ibiza yacht charters to be secured, you will usually need to provide a completed charter agreement and 50% of the charter fee as a deposit. This is payable once the contract has been signed.

You will have a greater variety of yachts to pick from if you decide to start your charter in Ibiza or Mallorca compared to mainland destinations. Whilst Barcelona certainly has a considerable array of yachts to choose from, it is not as extensive as the islands. 

We also strongly recommend that you book your yacht charter in Ibiza at least three months in advance to ensure you get the yacht you desire. The longer you leave it, you'll find you'll have less choice available.

There is a yacht to suit almost every budget in Ibiza so rest assured that you will find a vessel suitable to your requirements.

But when booking do keep in mind the costs that aren't included in the base rate, namely VAT and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually paid in advance of the charter and is commonly set at 30% of the charter fee. This allowance covers expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests. 

Please consult your yacht charter broker for any other costs you may need to factor in.

Utopia Ibiza Boat is a Ibiza boat hire for groups between 10 and 100. We have three different boat options with varied capacities leaving from San Antonio Bay.

We offer a private 3 hour boat cruise for 60€,  For groups larger than 40 the price per person is less, and is available upon request.

 The usual times for the 3 hour cruise are daytime (2-5pm) or for the sunset (6-9pm). .

Enjoy a day on the water taking in the views of Ibiza’s spectacular west coast and sunset from the sea. We can also stop at a nice beach such as Cala Bassa or Cala Conta, for a chance to to jump into the crystal clear Mediterranean waters, we have paddle boards and snorkels to boot for a right good laugh.

We offer a private 3 hour boat cruise for 60€, that’s cheaper than any shared cruise For groups larger than 40 the price per person is less. If you specifically have special request or a very large group please contact us.

 The usual times for the 3 hour cruise are daytime (2-5pm) or for the sunset (6-9pm).

Our boats leave from San Antonio Harbour , Utopia 1,2 and 3.

Formentera cruise

Utopia 4 leaves from ibiza town and goes to Formentera , 11:00 – 17:00, includes paella, drinks and music. Total price 2500€ up to 20.

Whats makes us different is that we are boat owners, and can fit up to 100 people on the same boat.

Typically other Ibiza Boat hire companies can only accommodate up to 12 people.

So no unconformable tanden boats diving the group.

Once the boat leaves San Antonio harbour, we head out to some of the island’s most picturesque beaches.

Characteristics of sailboats On our website you have available a large list of sailboats of all types and sizes. There are small sailboats that do not exceed 9 meters and others larger and up to 40 meters. The main advantage of sailboats is their great ability to adapt to all types of needs, in addition to being in perfect condition. Depending on your requirements, one sailboat or another will be better, so you should take into account the size, capacity, equipment, speed, etc. For example you will have the option of renting a sailboat for a day or for a week, or even more. If you only want to spend a day on a boat you will have the option of renting a smaller and more economical sailboat, while to stay for a day or a week you will need a sailing ship with cabins and complete equipment for life on board. Finally, all sailboats have a different distribution because some have the basics to live on board as a bathroom, a kitchen and cabins, while others have many more features such as television, kitchen with appliances, air conditioning, Wi -Fi, etc.

Minimum qualification required When renting a sailboat you can choose between hiring a skipper or not. What to bring? Whether you decide to enjoy a day of charter or rent a sailboat for a week, there is a list of essentials to fully enjoy your experience aboard one of our boats. The first thing is clothes and shoes. You will need comfortable, summer and sports clothing and also some long-sleeved clothing because, at night, the temperature in the sea tends to fall. Logically, swimwear is also essential for your nautical vacation. As for footwear, you will only need comfortable shoes and flip flops, although we recommend soft-soled and non-slip shoes to walk on the boat. Another essential thing is sun protection. The spray or sunscreen are very important to not burn you because the sun in the Mediterranean is very strong. Another way to protect yourself from the sun is with a hat to prevent sunstroke and to protect the head and face. We also advise you to wear long linen clothes to protect you during the hours of more intense sunlight. During a holiday at sea, you can not miss things like towels, submersible camera, diving goggles, fins, etc. You can also try water games such as paddle surfing or wakeboarding. Finally, all our boats have a first aid kit with the basic things like plasters, hydrogen peroxide, etc. However, if you need any special medication do not forget to bring it or if you are not used to navigate it wouldn’t hurt to take pills for seasickness just in case.

American Tourist Dead After Viking Ship Replica Sinks Off Coast of Norway: Reports

There were six people on the vessel when it capsized about 60 miles off the country’s west coast

A U.S. tourist has died after a Viking replica boat sank off the coast of Norway, according to multiple reports.

Six people were on board the 30-foot open wooden vessel when it encountered rough seas — with waves that were between 13-16 feet high — during an expedition from the Faroe Islands to Norway, on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to Agence France Presse and the BBC .

The ship sent a distress signal, and five people, including its skipper, were able to get into an inflatable life raft, and were airlifted by a helicopter with help from the Norwegian coast guard ship KV Bergen , which arrived on the scene, per Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang (VG) .

The body of the woman, who was reported to be an American citizen in her 20s by Norwegian media, was found Wednesday, Aug. 28, near where the Naddoddur capsized about 60 miles off the country’s west coast, according to the outlets.

Per the BBC, the expedition had already been postponed for several days due to the weather, and Norway’s Sea Rescue Society posted a video that showed strong winds and high waves in the area at the time the vessel went down.

The passengers on board were attempting a voyage, from the Faroe Islands to Alesund in Norway — similar to one that Vikings conducted more than 1,000 years ago, per the AFP.

The survivors were from Switzerland and the Faroe Islands, according to VG.

The local newspaper also reported that the boat's skipper has yet to be questioned, but authorities have opened an investigation.

Superyacht tragedy: Former Bayesian captain speaks out

The former captain of the luxury superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily killing seven people has shared his own notes on the tragedy, claiming it would have required “extreme circumstances” for the “sound and seaworthy” vessel to capsize.

Stephen Edwards, who skippered the Bayesian from 2015 to 2020, took to LinkedIn to share his thoughts, focusing on the design of the yacht and noting that he wished to avoid “contributing to the wild speculation” around the sinking.

James Cutfield , the 51-year-old New Zealander who was captain of the vessel when it sank, has so far declined to answer questions from Italian prosecutors .

A key point raised by Edwards was the “downflooding angle” of the Bayesian, or the angle at which water would begin to enter through the engine room and vents in the cabins when the vessel was heeled (tipped or leaned) to one side.

Edwards said this angle was around 40-45 degrees, much less than the Angle of Vanishing Stability (AVS) which is the angle at which the boat can no longer return to upright.

The AVS would be 90 degrees with the keel lowered and 75 degrees with it raised, he said.

He said the Bayesian would be in “serious trouble” if flooding could not be controlled once it reached the “downflooding angle”.

Edwards also said he was “100%” sure the hull door, located on the port side aft, would not have been left open at night, writing that it was only ever opened in flat-calm conditions.

He said there were no other opening windows or portholes and the only other openings are on or close to the centre of the boat, meaning the Bayesian would have had to be tipped beyond the “downflooding angle” and already flooding through the vents.

“The vessel Bayesian was sound and seaworthy by design, and to my knowledge well maintained as such,” Edwards wrote.

“However, heeling her to more than around 45 degrees while in normal operational state could result in flooding and subsequent loss if the flooding could not be controlled.

“The weather conditions that could have created these extreme circumstances can indeed occur with very little warning and being so localised are difficult to prepare for, leaving a very short time for the crew to react.

“How the vessel came to be taken outside her operation limits is what the investigators will need to determine, which I’m sure they will,” he concluded.

‘Understandably exhausted’

Skipper James Cutfield is under investigation by Italian authorities alongside other crew members, but is yet to answer prosecutors’ questions.

Aldo Mordiglia, one of his two lawyers, told the Telegraph there were “two reasons” for the skipper’s decision not to respond to questions.

“He is understandably exhausted. In addition, we were only appointed as his lawyers on Monday and we need to gather information, which we do not have yet, in order to prepare the defence.”

Investigators previously announced it was plausible that crimes of multiple manslaughter and causing a shipwreck through negligence had been committed, despite the yacht being hit with a very sudden meteorological event.

‘We didn’t see it coming’

James Cutfield’s brother said he is a “well-respected” captain who has worked on boats his whole life.

Immediately after the sinking, Cutfield told Italian media of the abrupt nature of the water spout that made a death trap out of the superyacht.

“We just didn’t see it coming,” he said.

Cutfield’s brother Mark told the Herald his brother was a “very good sailor” and was “very well respected” in the Mediterranean.

James had been a captain on luxury yachts for eight years and had previously been working on them and involved in building them for the past 30 years in various locations around the Mediterranean.

He said before he worked for the British tech tycoon Mike Lynch, he had worked for a Turkish billionaire.

Mark said James was a “top sailor” in his youth and raced 470s competitively.
